Brawl's balancing wasn't the best and was done by Sakurai himself. This time, it will be done by the development team, which means a more balanced roster.

Don't forget that the Tekken team is among the developers of this game.
That's great now the Smash Series will rise in the fighting games lists. Its already a successful series anyway but it'll be nice if more players from other fighting games can join this community.

I've seen that before.
I wonder what moves they could give a Pokemon character that don't involve Pokemon.

Escape Rope?
Repel?
Throw rocks and bait?
Flee?
Ride bike over foes?

Idk if you have played Jump Juperstars/ Jump Superstars: Ultimate for the DS, but Red could possibly fight similar to how Yugi fights. Red could quickly summon pokemon for his attacks.

Example: For his jabs he can summons a Hitmochan, for his neutral special he can summon Charizard for flamethrower, for his revovery he quickly summons Pidgeot etc...

The operative statement is "could go up above." Do you honestly see anyone as being better than M2K right now that isn't PP, Armada, or Mango? Name one that isn't Hungrybox.
No, but I've heard several good arguments for other players being on the cusp of being better than M2K.
I dunno, kicking pretty much everybody's *** and placing 1st in Melee and Brawl in every other event is pretty damn dominant. I'll concede, though: Pre-Armada Mango, Armada, and Golden Era Ken were more dominant overall.
M2K's reign was impressive, but even then (this was back when I followed and did Brawl competitively) Ally was still probably the best. Still, M2K's reign was incredible, and he deserves to be commended for being atop of the game for so long. That is no easy feat, especially with everyone "aiming" for you.
Yeah, and I've read the same damn thing mentioned by said top ranked Brawl players, too. Some of them laugh at how busted their game is. It is a shallower game, mechanically-speaking. Still, top Brawl players aren't dumber or less capable because of this; their skillset simply differs.
I've heard these points from many of the best players in the West Coast (which isn't saying much, considering from what I know, East Coast dominates in Brawl).

To coincide with what I was saying, I'm not saying they are inferior technical players, I'm just saying their game doesn't show their skills, so judging the skills of opposition is kind of hard to do. And even if the best players look as good as the best Melee players, since the game is an inferior game in nearly every aspect, that probably (bit not definitively) means they are a less talented player.

It is a hard thing to grasp how good those players are, compared to Smash 64 and Melee players, many of which play other games competitively and have easy to identify and frequently easy to rate strategical, technical, and mental understanding of competitive gaming in regards to those games and any other competitive games they play. There's also the chance that the messed up competitive gameplay of Brawl goes against player's strengths. One example I can think of in that regard is Bladewise, who looks ridiculously worse and disjointed in Brawl, but in Melee, looks like a world beater. Maybe it's a lack of camping & stalling skills!
Fair point. I forgot about the undefeated streak.
Have you in your competitive career ever lost a 3 on 1 when you are the 3 with no handicap in a competitive match=??? Neither had I until I face Isai a few times, with him using a bottom tier character (the NTSC version of Link). That guy is too good, and that streak is quite frankly literally the definition of unbelievable.

I haven't been keeping up with tournament stuff in along time but doesn't the fighting game community still look down on Smash players?

The OLD bottom tier. Nowadays, Mewtwo is almost Mid Tier I believe?

Anyways, am kind of upset I never see my favorite characters play.

In Melee, I love watching Mewtwo and DK, yet nobody ever uses them. And in Brawl, Diddy is basically THE top tier character nobody seems to play...
any one got ideas on why no one uses Diddy i'm interested to now why

No, Pichu and Kirby are still the bottom tier characters. The next lowest is Bowser, followed by Ness, followed by Mr. Game & Watch, followed by Yoshi (I think he's way too low), and followed by Mewtwo (I think he is slightly too high). Here is the Melee tier lists btw. ;)

Few competitive players uses Mewtwo because Mewtwo's hit boxes and movements he's so disjointed, and because he's under powered. Thus, competitive, Mewtwo is an extremely hard character to "get used to", which actually can serve as an advantage for the Mewtwo player if they have enough experience (like Taj).

As for DK, there is at least one DK left, but there are probably a few more players who at least use DK. Yesterday we had an all-time great DK/Fox set with 2 all-time great matches (the 1st and 3rd/last match) that we could get a rematch. That match was Crush vs. Phish-it (the latter being the DK), and if Crush wins his next 3 matches and Phish-it wins his next 2, the rematch happens! :) They are atop the loser's bracket here.

I think Mewtwo is at the right spot. He's definitely better than Ness, G&W, Bowser, Kirby and Pichu. Yoshi, is debatable. But I've seen Mewtwo wreck far more **** than I've seen Yoshi do. I'd probably rank Mewtwo higher than Roy, Zelda and Young Link as well. But definitely lower than Link and DK.

I've seen the Crush vs Phish-it match. Well, at least the last one. It was pretty damn hype. If DK wasn't gimped so early woth that Shine, he would've won. I also think where it the PAL version, DK would've survived that Up Smash that killed him in the end.

I wouldn't rank G&W or Yoshi behind Mewtwo, but I do think Mewtwo is probably better than Roy. However, that is hard to tell, since Roy is kinda like Pichu to where they are inferior to a superior version of said character. If Pikachu and Marth didn't exist, those 2 characters would probably be a few spots up. The same goes with Mario (compared to Doc).

Yeah, that is why the shine is the most powerful weapon in Melee. Even if the DK survived that, I think he still would have more than likely lost. But yeah, the first and last match had incredible comebacks, each by a different player. That whole set was just an amazing smack around beat around smashing good fight.
Phish It PLZ
After that fight with Crush along with his impressive performance as a whole at EVO, I think Phish-It made A TONNNNNN of fans, including yours truly.
The name looks like Johnknight1 Watson

Is that right?
Yep, that's me alright. After all, how many Johnknight1's are there=???
You absolutely need a Pokemon Trainer that jumps out of the DS and starts dancing to complete your life?
Sure, why not=??? He's cool and ain't scurred of nuthin.

You guys do know this is a hack right? PT will probably never be a real part of smash like his pokemon he controls are. This is definitely a hack. I read this entire page and none of you guys mention that it was a hack so I did it for you...
Of course we do.

Jokes don't need to directly mention it's a hack.

G&W really lacks top players playing him iirc? Yoshi above Mewtwo ismdebateable, but I do think both should be higher than Roy. And I still think Mewtwo > Zelda.
