I love that the least-wanted characters from casual games are actually overshadowing the most-wanted newcomer's hype and are generating memes.

If I recall, a lot of people wanted an Animal Crossing character, but we lost faith because of what Sakurai said.

Kinda hoping he does so I can start out Rate Their Chance and my spiritual successor to Wiseguy's thread knowing that Pac-Man, Little Mac and Mii are in. Seems kinda pointless to rate them when we already practically know they're in.

Hell, Shortie's polls are now pointless. Sakurai purposefully added a character literally no one asked for. He even admitted it in front of a crowd! Sakurai isn't going to add characters just because they are in the top 10.

I hope that smashbros.com will have Sakurai's "blog" updates like last time. Right now, it just looks like all we're getting is a bunch of pictures and videos. I want Sakurai's crazy commentary!

On another note, WFT is pretty much my favorite thing ever. She's just a regular ass girl, but wicked graceful and... fit!

Yeah, well, serves ourselves right for listening to other people and their conventional wisdom and trying to play safely with the roster. I am honestly glad that the SSB4 roster is not going to be boring with nothing but conservative characters. I salute you, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer.

So what are the general opinions on the graphics/character models so far?

Personally I'm loving how they went back to the bright, cartoony look as opposed to sticking with the dully colored hyper realistic one from Brawl. All of the characters look like they were literally ripped out of their games this time around.

He's not going to add just popular characters but that doesn't mean fan demand won't influence inclusion.

Let's be honest here, Mega Man would NEVER get in a Smash Bros. game without fan demand. No denying he had other things going for him (iconic status, some interest within Capcom, and an incredible move set potential), but I doubt Sakurai would have budged had it not been for popularity.

The general consensus is that people absolutely love the way it looks. Everyone looks so damn beautiful, Link is sexy, Bowser is somehow sexy (and menacing), Mega Man in his classic form suits the style superbly, Villager fits in perfectly, WFT fits in well and is an interesting ivory juxtaposition to everything around her and the rest of the cast. Its not only better than if they had just tried to be a better Brawl in design, but now it sets itself apart, which makes sense because Sakurai.

In fact, I used to never really care about graphics and stuff, but seeing all of my beloved Nintendo characters in all these HD games is really wonderful. <3

Right now, one unorthodox character I am anticipating is the protagonist from X who will be treated as a complimentary character for Shulk. Comparable to the situation with Marth and Roy.

I was just watching IGN's Rewind Theater and I noticed something very interesting. Look at about 1:20 where Samus FTilt's Bowser. She instantly transitions into her FSmash and immediately hits Donkey Kong. Could this be a sign of canceling moves now?

Cancel-able moves would definitely shake things up... The shield pressure possibilities with that sound pretty ridiculous.
