Without getting into the article just yet, I never considered this as a reason for the lacking sales. As we've mentioned before, the economy is making it where every purchase counts. More people may have been hesitant to buy a WiiU so soon without seeing what the others have offered. Now that essentially one of the options is knocked off, it's PS4 or WiiU, if not both for some.

On top of that, with both the PS4 and Xbox ONE having no apparent "quality" titles scheduled to be released this year while Nintendo has Pikmin 3, the Wonderful 101, the Wind Waker HD Remake, and maybe a few other games (Bayonetta? Mario? Something Retro Studios-related?) ready for the WiiU, Nintendo has the momentum at the moment.

Basically, they're in the position the original Xbox 360 was in at this time 7 years ago (2006), except they already had a few good exclusive games instead of crap like Perfect Dark Zero, and they got more exclusives coming this year (other than just one) and several more coming out next year.
