In case no one heard already, Mario Kart 8 is going to have a global release date ala Pokémon X / Y and Mario Kart 7 -- sort of. Pretty much reinforces in my mind that Super Smash Bros will do the same thing when it releases. Though if Sakurai lets all his goodies out of the bag before hand it won't really mean much.

Nintendo seems to be getting back on track, if miyamoto is taken seriously. Which he probably will.

I definitely encourage you guys to read their Corporate Management Policy Briefing yourself. It's worth your time.

Also, I'm beginning to think that the Wii Fit Trainer was included largely due to the second part of this; the market that Nintendo is going to start going after for their non-video game business ventures, focused on "health". Introducing the Wii Fit Trainer into Smash Bros. is the first step into creating a really recognizable "health" mascot for their "non-wearable" market (whatever that means). I would not be surprised if the Wii Fit Trainer became more than just the "Wii Fit" Trainer. Maybe it'll become an outright "Nintendo Personal Trainer".

I still wonder if they should have names for the trainers.

The Smash Brothers Movie can be done like the Avengers movie and off-shoots.

First start with a Mario movie, Link movie, and Samus. And then for the Smash movie they'll form a team along with other Nintendo characters against Mecha-Bowser who just happens to have the Tri-force of Power.

That is what I thought when I read this. I certainly bodes well for a global Smash release. In addition, Iwata keeps on pounding in that Mario Kart 8 and Smash will be two games that will sell big for the Wii U. That being said, wouldn't it be feasible to span them out in order to prolong the Wii U hype rather than do it all at once where it risks dying out by winter?

May for Mario Kart, Fall for Smash could be a real thing.

Smash is definitely coming in Fall, despite my initial misinterpretation -- look at how poorly translated those tweets were. My concern is there doesn't seem to be a lot of software on the horizon beyond Mario Kart. Granted, I don't expect them to talk about everything now, but looking at their third party lineup for the Wii U, there isn't much to hope for between first party releases.

So what DS games does anyone even want to see on the VC? It's been so long since I owned a regular DS, I don't even know if there are many I would want to play again. I know I'd definitely want to play Dragon Quest V again. Maybe Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin and Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. In hindsight, I really didn't care for the DS' library.

And the other games I did enjoy were either remakes (Chrono Trigger DS, Kirby Super Star Ultra) or collections (Megaman Zero Collection).

Who are we talking about?
Wii Fit Trainers

The Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon games would be tons of fun on the big screen.

Well... the Wii U needs some RPGs... so bring on Dragon Quest IV, V, VI, and IX (even though I have them all on my DS)... and Mario & Luigi 2 + 3... and Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks (please fix the controls so we can control Link with the analog stick instead of using the touch screen)...

Oh, yes... and Castlevania DS games... Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia... hmm, what else? Okamiden!! But I would rather have Okamiden in HD just like Okami HD for the PS3...

I was named by a magical unicorn, flying through the skies preventing people from stealing their friend's Skittles...

So a real topic now, please?
The name of the thread is Super Smash Bros 4 (Wii-U/3DS) Topic. I think if its smash related, its on topic....
I mean, what exactly do I talk about here?

True, that is true. I just felt it a bit off to be talking about possible names of characters who already have names.

Little bit, I guess. It's just interesting thinking about how they might want to capitalize on Wii Fit Trainer's Smash Bros. inclusion when they're going into this new market. Makes it seem a bit less ridiculous.

On another note: it also sounds like Nintendo is going to have a more traditional E3 presentation this year. Kind of makes me hope Sakurai doesn't show off any new characters until then. I'd rather save the surprises for the crowds.

Feb: Diddy Kong
Mar: Yoshi
Apr: Ness
May: Wario

April is going to be such a dead software month for Nintendo... Not a single Nintendo game is released, for any country.

Not quite. Didn't Iwata say they have un-announced Wii U software releasing in 2014?

Ridley confirmed for E3.

I seriously believe Ridley will be held off until the very end.
