Oasis always turns these discussions back over to the topic of sausage. Sounds a little gay to me.

Well when Shorts posted that blondie boy I was going to try and turn the topic over to cunnilingus but I thought better of it but then you had to come along.

I think Paper Mario could be a good inclusion.

Rosalina might also be flavorful if she represents the mechanics present in Mario Galaxy. But she is not necessary.

Thank you.

When it comes to the matter Mario series, I think the current roster is fine. But I would love to see how Toad would work. Playing as a small strong mushroom sounds interesting.

Well, I think that a newcomer from the Mario series is unlikely, despite the many characters that could be in such as Toad, Bowser Jr. or Waluigi. Anyway, I think Toad is the best choice for a Mario newcomer.

I have a hunch that we won't see much newcomers from already represented series. I think the only characters that are as prominent in their series as the ones already in the roster are Toad, Dixie Kong, King K. Rool, Ridley and Palutena. I'm willing to bet that most newcomers will be from previously unrepresented series.

I was not enthusiastic for Toad pre-Brawl. But Toad is now becoming a prominent playable character in the Mario franchise. Also his conclusion would make the complete MarioKart 64 cast playable in Smash.

Toad, as you mentioned, was the fast strong character in Mario 2. A role it looks like he will take up once more in the upcoming Mario game.

There is the flying carpet, POW blocks, plucking mechanic (used one opponents), chargeable jump, mushroom turbo from Mariokart, and other potential moveset opportunities available for the little guy.

Up to Mario Kart 64, with the exception of DK Jr., everybody has played a role among gameplay in SSB. DK Jr. is arguable who becomes the current Donkey Kong, or that's the theory based upon Super Mario Kart > Mario Kart 64 here. I don't know if it's been stated DK Jr. and Donkey Kong in that case were the same person, but it does make sense.

Koopa Troopa may not be playable, but he is among the SSE and Adventure Mode, and in Melee, can randomly show up in crates like the other Weak Enemies.(kind of like an Assist Trophy)

Still discussing Mario?

Yeah, I don't really think ANY new Mario character is likely. I find it more likely that franchises with less represented characters will get in instead, espescially considering Mario and Zelda are fine with the characters they have. No other character is really necessary for those two franchises, nor are their possible newcomers are as popular as characters like Ridley, K. Rool, Palutena and possibly Dixie Kong. (at least when it comes to Smash, that is)

Rly tho, it's not like it's just you. Oasis has a picture of SSBFBFSBSFSBSFF being a victini with nerd glasses and a calculator. And that annoying guy who was drawn as parrot that some people somehow enjoyed. Both of them moved the **** on, becuse it stopped being funny. They either didn't get a rise out of it, or stopped being ********.

Just, stop giving so many ****s. Soon you'll be heartless like the rest of us.

I'm expecting the "Warning Challenger" banner to disappear sometime this week, to build up to a Pokémon reveal the following week (or the week after the following)

I definitely think Sakurai will try again to pair up Dixie with Diddy.

After thinking about the roster, it's obvious that the only characters on the same level of importance as the ones from series that are already in are Toad, Ridley, Dixie Kong, Palutena and King K. Rool.

Characters like Krystal, Impa or Tingle aren't as important as some people make them seem.

I would add F-Zero characters to the five above, such as Samurai Goroh or Black Shadow, but the truth is that it's been almost a decade that an F-Zero game hasn't been produced. What new content from the F-Zero series will be added this time? I guess that we'll have another stage from GX and maybe something based on Maximum Velocity on the 3DS version.

I don't expect anything new from the EarthBound/Mother series either, nor from the Star Fox series, which all it had was a remake on the 3DS since Brawl.
Speaking of Star Fox... I think that stage-wise, we might see something based on Star Fox 64 on the 3DS version just like how Gerudo Valley is on that version and possibly something more generic (like Lylat Cruise) or from Assault on the Wii U version.

Continuing on the stage subject, I highly expect something from Wind Waker on the Wii U version. Bridge of Eldin seems a good choice if Brawl stages are returning. Personally, I'd like to see stages from all previous Smash games, in which some could be 3DS exclusive and others could be Wii U exclusive: Corneria, Venom or Sector Z could go to the 3DS version as those are based on SF64, while Lylat Cruise would return for the Wii U version.

Just some thoughts I had.

I still think it might be Mewtwo.

You must be monkeying around. :awesome:

I wouldn't mind either way. But considering the situation we had that makes the Ice Climbers iffy, I think he'll probably just drop the idea for them. Similar reasons why I don't think any new Duo characters are coming in. I'd have loved Plusle & Minun too(assuming they were ever planned), but there's other ways to rep each Gen. No Gen was left unrepped thusfar. If we get a direct Gen VI character, we can expect Gen V Poke Ball Pokemon.

Sakurai has done a kickass job at showing off every Generation of Pokemon so far, and you can argue playable as well.
