They didn't dismiss it as a game. They just said the image is conceptual, meaning it's basically concept art. Whatever the image was for, it won't be out anytime soon, but I'm not counting anything out just yet.

I've already created the petition, DEMANDING Sakurai put Ridley in the upcoming SSB4! In it, I address not only Sakurai, but also Miyamoto and Reggie, as well as Nintendo in general. With this petition, we can show Sakurai that the demand for Ridley is high, and that he would have no choice but to notice it.

Alright, I've decided on my course of action regarding to Ridley.

If Ridley is a playable character, I'll sing Open Your Heart from Sonic Adventure.

If Ridley is a stage hazard, I'll read this horribly awesome Super Smash Bros. fanfiction from beginning to end.

The catch? Going to eat a habanero prior to preforming either action. So either way, everyone will win.

That fic... can't read beyond part of the first chapter. If Ridley doesn't get in, then I salute you for your bravery.

... this is the mentality that Sakurai relies on to maintain his power. He RELIES on people to conform to the mainstream societal ideas, never questioning anything or even asking questions, because Sakurai only has one answer - HIMSELF. Sakurai WANTS people to sit back lazily and love any and all his ideas, even when they don't work, and he WANTS people to never question anything he does. He loves that. This sort of mentality only ALLOWS Sakurai to do whatever he wants to do.

We need to change that! We need to start QUESTIONING his ideas, so that the only ANSWER he will give us is not his own, but that of the general public's interest. These Smash games should cater to EVERYBODY, NOT JUST SAKURAI.

Are you seriously saying that Sakurai doesn't care about his fans? This is the same man that gave us the franchise we all know and love and practically slaves for us in order to deliver high quality games. He has sacrificed so much for the fans and is one of the most pro-fan developers out there. I repeat, there would be no Smash without Sakurai.

He's not perfect; no one is, but to go on a rampage and to compare the potential absence of Ridley to civil right movements of all things is an indication of who you are; a self-centered person that throws a hissy fit when he doesn't get what he wants.

It's not exactly wrong but in this whole wide world, there are so many more important things to get that fired up about because, come on, video games are a toy for god's sake... They're fun, yes, but their overall significance is far behind far more pressing matters. Plus, in the aftermath, you're just opening the floodgates to ridicule so that nobody takes you or anything you have to say seriously. Fanboyism is just a more frivolous kind of bigotry that does little more than annoy posters and derail any kind of meaningful conversation.
