It might also just have to do with the fact that the people who bothered to stick around after all these years have largely become leaders of the Smash Community and their experience with the pre-Brawl days is helping people reasonably behave this time around.

Wait, is there a source for that?God, remember the one girl who threatened to commit suicide after Lyn was revealed to be an Assist Trophy? I wasn't exactly a shining good example of how not to be butthurt but its amazing how melodramatic people got back then. It's kind of funny though because the trend this time around seems to be people who complain are almost immediately swarmed by ten others who tell them to STFU.
