no one's arguing unless you consider me calling you nerds arguing
Not only are you illiterate, but you don't know what the word arguing means. :urg:

@Ember Reaper, Thank you, as I said, I was bored and just decided to prove that the other guy is not only a fail in the fantasy world, but elsewhere as well.

Except he's not the one arguing.

Not only can you not type properly, it seems you have no reading comprehension as well.
I really fear for today's generation.....
Hello there, friend. I cannot help but notice your unnecessary and incorrect association between the ability to communicate effectively on an internet forum (a relatively new medium, mind you) with the ability (or inability, as it were) for an entire generation to succeed or whatever it is you're insinuating he can or cannot do.

Here you are, taking the "holier-than-thou" approach to the whole situation, throwing the time old "this generation sucks I wish I was born in the last one oh woe is me" spiel at everyone, but if you would stop critiquing the way some guy decides he wishes to type on the internet, maybe you'd realise that this is the smartest generation in human history.

There is nothing, literally nothing that bothers me more than a person who looks back on the days of the Baby Boomers or even the so-called "Greatest Generation" (so-called of course by those nostalgic for it and nothing else) and thinks, "Yeah, today is ****, I wish it was 1960" or some such nonsense.

But I digress.

I'm almost positive that KCCHIEFS is completely capable of typing like he's writing an essay, I certainly am and half the time I write nonsense like "ur a ***et" instead of thinking of a full-fledged response.

In closing, deal with it nerd.

Are you brothers with him or something?
Aye, pal. The only reason anyone would ever defend someone ever for any reason at all is if they're brothers.

You nailed it, champ.

ITT: Trolls that think I praise the previous generation and confuse illiteracy with reading comprehension.

Ah, so these are the idiots that had nothing better to do than make that stupid prank.
And they say we're the nerds.
Man, it feels like GameFaqs today.

Whatever. Nerd.

......man I felt like an idiot just saying that.

I thought I was going to have to mediate another potential argument again, but this one seems "try hard" and hopeless on one side.

-Sigh-

:phone:
it's honestly a great argument

And there was much rejoicing.

Anywho, I may have brought this up in the Toad thread, but I feel that one thing about Toad can be brought up.

Many people are put off by some people having Mario items in his Special set. In my opinion, I feel it would fit Toad well. Think about it: Toad is often depicted as the head of the item house, so clearly he should know of their combat abilities.

Just my view of it...

shhh don't say their name! It increases their troll power. And besides, I'll probably mess up the thread before they do anyway. :troll:

Makes sense to me. I don't actually want Toad in the game, since I don't want a new Mario character, but it would make sense if he relied mostly on items.

I guess my opinion of Toad has changed, but i still wouldn't want him over Bowser Jr. and Paper Mario. I just see much more potential in Junior and Paper Mario over Toad, and i just dont see what items he could use that arent already in the game. The fire flower, star, shells, mushrooms, etc are already in the game as items. If they could find other Mario items not in use, then i guess i could agree with it. Otherwise, i would rather have the other two by a mile

There's always Propeller Mushroom for an Up B if you want new items.

But yeah, I think the items should be used, as stated above, but only for Specials, and not all of them. Some can make use of his Mushroom capabilities, such as the Mushroom Summon from Mario Sports Mix.

Agreed
I know its "the" toad, but being Peach's counter move is just as useful as he can get.

Some people even mentioned the "Ice Flower" for standard B.

You know, I'll work on a Toad Moveset in a little bit haha

Toad having a moveset composed of random items is as bland as Waluigi having a moveset composed of random spin-off related weapons.

Both can do better than that.

Why are people so opposed to Toad having Power-Up specials when Mario has the Fireball and the Cape?

Not saying he should have all Power-Up specials, but they're kinda integral to who he is as a character.

Sheesh.

I know that it shouldn't be filled with them, but I think one or two of his specials can use them, and it wouldn't be too much, and could show his closer relationship to the items without going overboard. Like, maybe Up B and/or Neutral B, but the Side B and Down B, as well as the normals/smashes/aerials/etc, would not require their use. Final Smash can go either way: for an item route, Blue Shell, and for Non-Item, Toad Brigade Toadship?

After seeing gameplay of "Wario's Woods", I'm convinced that Toad should have the ability to run up walls. haha It could be a mechanic where Toad can run up vertical walls, however, he has to continuously be moving or he'll fall off the wall. However I'm trying to think where that could apply, say that he was in brawl...

All I can think of, top of my head, is Shadow Moses Island. The barriers. Maybe that could be his recovery too, in stages with straight sides on the stage/platform? Like for example in Zelda's "Temple", the small platform at the very bottom..

His bomb throwing from Wario Woods should be integrated as well. Everything else "physical" like his kicks, and "super strength" from SMB2, would have to be atrributed to his standard attacks and physical ability respectively.

As far as Items go, I see nothing wrong with using the "Propeller Mushroom" as his up B, and possibly one more.. But I agree that he doesn't need to have ONLY Mario items.

Instead of Propeller Mushroom, why not Propellor Box? Does the same thing, and Hell, even THE Toad (Kinopio) shows you how to use it.

That's from Super Mario 3D Land, right? I haven't played that one yet, so I couldn't recall that gameplay element. haha But yes, that totally works too!

EDIT: So there's the Propeller "Block" from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and the Propeller "Box" from Super Mario 3D Land. Do both act the same way?

EDIT EDIT:
[COLLAPSE="Propeller Box"]
[/COLLAPSE]

So In 3D Land, it looks like Mario gets inside the block to use it.

and in NSMB Wii, the player HOLDS the block.

I think I prefer NSMB's version. Was that the one you were talking about? haha

No, I was talking about 3D Land's version. Toad uses it. :awesome:

I feel like the "Super Jump" move from Super Mario Bros. 2 would suit his Up-B move the best, although the propeller block/box would work. Despite the fact that using certain items as attacks would be acceptable for him, I feel that the less items he uses, the better. Like Golden said, he can do better than that.

Also, more support for his bomb move comes from the fact that he can do this not only in Wario's Woods, but also in Super Mario Bros. 2. Of course, Wario's Woods helps the idea that this move is exclusive to Toad's character.

I hadn't thought of an item based moveset for Toad. That's a really cool idea! At least imo.

I heavily support the bomb idea, especially if it's like my version that I posted earlier:

Down B: Bomb Pluck-Being the plucky guy he is (bad pun), Toad quickly plucks a bomb from the ground. These bombs work different from other characters that use them (Link, Toon Link, etc.), as they are bigger and only detonate after a set amount of time, even when thrown. They are also held over Toad's head, so all he can do is move, jump, and throw the bomb. They come in different colors (Red, Light Blue, Dark Blue Green, Yellow, Pink, and White), and have different amounts of damage, knockback, blast radius, and detonation time depending on the color.

Oh hey pals, what's going on? I bet you missed me. Now I can't be a troll because I'm using proper punctuation. I was quite serious about Toad being a ridiculous character addition, though it wouldn't surprise me if he was added anyways. You can give anything a move set, even a rock.

I like this idea.

It'd be pretty funny if they could detonate on players immediately if the bomb was the same color as them.

In reference to the "Color-Based", puzzle strategy game of course.

Maybe rarer ones could also possibly have "special effects" when they blast like sleeping, and such. But overall, I agree that the bombs are signature to the sole game he was the main protagonist in.

Yes, I think this really helps solidify the rationale of this move in his moveset. :)
