If the Bears didn't destroy New Orleans like they did, I would pick the Colts in a heartbeat. However, putting pressure on Manning with the defensive line seems to be the Colts offensive weakness (Pittsburgh last year and the Patriots in the first half last night). The only problem is, if the Bears go three and out all of the time the defense will get tird fast (much like the Patriots did) and then the Colts can just walk all over them. So, I guess when it comes down to it, I say the Colts, though I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears pulled it out.

Bears will win.
Unless grossman has another mental lapse and throws more completions to the other team than to his own team, then its a lock for the bears.

colts will win, the NFC sucks compared to the AFC, and also, you don't want to piss manning off, noticed what happens when you do

and as of right now, the colts have the top D in the postseason, coming from one of the worst in the league, also completely shutting down 3 teams in the 2nd half of the game, their kicker set the NFL record for most postseason kicks, they made the largest comeback in conference championship history, they are the first team to go 9-0 back to back seasons, they have the best QB in teh league, they got bob sanders back, and their run defense has not let 100 yds in a game in the post season

even if grossman plays good, the colts will win

just another point, the cots beat the pats twice

the pats destroyed the bears when they played

also, if drew brees can put up 350 passing yards on teh bears, so can manning

Running underneath a jolt wall...
Watching that Bears game last night was painful, being a Saints fan. Yeah, the Bears' 'D' made a stand after struggling for a few weeks, but some credit has to go to the home field there too. A top rated offense just doesn't fumble the ball 4 times *in their own territory too* on a regular day. But if Brees put up 350 pass yards on a terrible day like that (granted, 88 of those were on one throw to Reggie), I'd have to go with Peyton putting up some serious numbers (assuming that his thumb is fine). The AFC is clearly the stronger conference just by looking at the quality of the teams (come on, the flippin' Giants made the NFC playoffs). Besides, Grossman is still too inconsistent for me to put a sure bet on even if I wanted the Bears to win.

On a neutral field, with all monkey's off the backs of the Colts by beating the Patriots, the pressure off Peyton a little because of finally getting a clutch drive in a big game, the Colts 'D' making big stops like they have since the start of the postseason, and my own bias against the Bears for beating my team, I have to pick....

DA COLTS

-I couldn't help putting 'DA' with all the Bears pics.

Probably out eating some dirt or something.
As much as I hate the NFC I hate the Colts and PAtriots more so either way I would have gone for the NFC team. I have to go with the Bears on this one because there defense is so tough. Their defense shutdown the Saints and the only reason Brees had 349 pass yards was because they were 1 dimensional and had to pass all the time, if the Colts can't run then they have to play catchup and the Bears defense holds them and then the Bears proved that their offense can score so therefore the Bears have it wrapped up the way I see it. People who are saying that it'll be the Colts because of Peyton Manning aren't considering all the factors because you have to look at the other team, I don't care if Manning puts up 700 yards they may not win because they won't be able to run and Manning would have to pass too much.

There are three major factors in this game for
if they are to win:

1) Rex Grossman - If he doesn't get consistent with his arm this game, the Colts are set.

2) Devon Hester - We all know that the Bears have an amazing defense, but if the offense can't score, this guy had better. He did set the record for most kick returns for TDs (can't wait to use him in Madden 08). My guess is he gets at least one Kick Return TD.

3) The Dynamic Duo (Thomas Jones & Cedric Benson) - They've gotta run the ball because the Colts have sucked all season in rush defense. If they break 100 total rush yds, it's a Bears win.

My prediction (even though I'm rooting for the Colts upset), Bears 28, Colts 17. Sorry Peyton.

I just don't understand football.

I really think it's one of the most boring sports in existence. Not the most boring, but pretty freaking high up there.

That said:

Gotta jump on that bandwagon.

Q:Who would win in a fight, Ditka or God?
A: Trick question: Ditka is God.

I guess that answers your question too.
