3D, but it absolutely needs to emulate the feel of the GBA games. I think Monolith's help with the world is a must, but they need to stay the **** away from basically everything else.

As someone who knows the sting of perpetually overlooked series, it seems hugely malicious to wish upon others the misfortune we've experienced, simply because we find ourselves in an unenviably spot. A successful IP coming to a halt doesn't benefit niche titles in the shared genre, because an inhospitable marketplace would be the catalyzing arrest. If Mario Kart stopped it wouldn't give us an F-Zero. If Pokemon stopped it wouldn't give us Golden Sun. All it would do is deprive another fanbase like we've been deprived, and no one wins.

So past burning bridges and fostering ill will, where does that malignant ethic get you?

When you say ‘they think we’ll get another ARMS’, are you referring to it being a common thing to say? Because I haven’t seen many say it outside of myself, and even I’m partly just wishful thinking.

Yes, it's not a particularly rampant point of discussion, but there's no more prevalent theory thrown around by those who think the Mario Kart/ARMS team is going to work on something apart from Kart.

I’m far from the only person who thinks Star Fox GP is stupid though. And given how it was everywhere at one point in time and then nothing happened and it died out, it was probably fake anyways.

Sounds like everyone learned quite a bit from Mario + Rabbids about reserving judgment, eh? Are you one of those under the impression this game is just F-Zero with Arwings? If so, that seems a bit of a close-minded perspective over something so currently abstract.

Also, what did you imagine would happen? A reveal right after? Most leaks that gave it a tentative schedule pegged it as unlikely to be a 2018 game, and Nintendo being reticent to reveal games more than a few months in advance (the exceptions usually being to strategically offset backlash (eg. Bayo 3, Metroid Prime 4, 2019 Pokemon)) should come as no surprise.

If you've got most leakers and a strong handful of reputable sites echoing the same claims, there's far too much smoke for there not to be fire.

Plus, it kind of contradicts Nintendo’s actions so far. They don’t make a new F-Zero because they have Mario Kart, because it’s a more niche franchise, but then they make Star Fox Racing?

That's not why they don't make F-Zero, they don't make F-Zero because they don't see profit to be made. They have like seven hundred 2.5d platformers, but those each are profitable, so they continue. Hell, they turned Chibi-Robo into a 2.5d platformer so they could attempt making it profitable. Ostensibly they see a potential for profit here.

(And I also think it’s weird Retro would be working on such a small scale game, but that’s just me)

That's a premature conclusion on the scope of this game. Rare, Namco, and Platinum also worked on this series.

I don’t know. Games like Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey took many years to develop, so while I do see them making a sequel, I don’t see it happening in two years. I think there’s bound to be a big gap between releases of the heavy hitters, and they gotta fill that gap with something.

Some games, though, I don’t see them making another. We already have the definitive Switch versions of Mario Party and Mario Tennis (and maybe Mario Kart?), so I’d cross out the possibility of those games getting sequels any time soon.

Well let's look at Zelda, as an example. Here's a hypothetical paradigm in which the series never fades from recency.
Year 1 - Large-scale Zelda (Main Zelda team)
Year 2 - Zelda remake (Tantalus)
Year 3 - Small-scale Zelda (Supporting Zelda team)
Year 4 - Zelda spin-off (Team Ninja)
Year 5 - Large-scale Zelda, made from Year 1 game's assets (Main Zelda team)
Year 6 - Zelda remake (Grezzo)
and on and on and on. It's even easier to do this with Mario and Pokemon.

I hope we get more smaller yet established series than we have in the past, I try to support many of Nintendo's smaller offerings, but Nintendo is perfectly capable of filling their schedule primarily with derivatives of the A-tier, recurring titles from their B-tier, and the occasional C-tier.

Fantastic. I love this theme, and just imaging an orchestral cover with a kick*** electric guitar and maybe strings is making me so so anxious for this game. Whatever remixes we get, they'll be amazing. Though, since the soundtrack is so good, they won't even have to remix anything! (Not that they shouldn't, of course)

It was a good game just not in comparison to the first two.
Edit: The game was not terrible, but the other games were practically the golden era of Camelot.

Matthew Mercer voices three characters in Fire Emblem Fates. Its not really out of the question. He's got great flexibility. If he fits, they probably would consider his voice for another character.

Hm... I'm gonna guess that we won't get a Direct until early November, and that's where all of the remaining characters will be revealed, alongside stuff like the unrevealed modes, more Assist Trophies and stages, and so on. I hope I'm wrong, though! I'd love some new info next week.

So...This is an odd interview question to ask the Takahashi brothers.

Tbh, I'm not sure if the Japanese version or English version are very different, but I don't think I remember Luigi's and Mario's bond being all that present. (Well, all that present to be seen as noteworthy.)

I feel like from the footage on gathering, they could've expanded upon it and made the story feel a lot better, but honestly, I shouldn't expect much from a tennis game.

I found something I thought was worth mentioning cause I havent seen it brought up in any Isaac discussion Ive seen yet.
Its just speculation but this article about why Sakurai doesnt tweet has an interesting statement

My reasoning is that if there was ever a time to be careful with your posts so you dont upset fanboys, its when your biggest Smash game youve ever made is just on the horizon and the whole WORLD is feverishly guessing at whos going to be in the game.

I find it hard to believe the man who said "I have to speak in a way so theres no misunderstanding" would post something so heavily suggestive toward Golden Sun around the time possible newcomers are being discussed so much.
