It's quite simple. Is there a reason why Vergeben is credited when his sources get information right, but the sources get blamed for bad information instead of Vergeben himself?
Yeah I can definitely see free updates happening for things that didn't quite finish on time. Are free updates on launch day generally frowned upon? I would think if they were free it wouldn't be that big of an issue but maybe I'm wrong?
The way Sakurai talks kinda makes me feel like he's constantly pushing himself to squeeze as much into this game as possible. So it does make me wonder if there will be content that wasn't completed in time for the base game that he might give away for free on launch day or soon after release. Content that wasn't planned as dlc.
Personally I wouldn't have an issue with it if it was free. I think it would be pretty clear that it was content that just wasn't quite ready at release but wasn't meant to be "dlc". (thus being why it was given away as a free update)
Of course that's all just hypothetical.
Thank you. Though handled poorly at time Dark Dawn had very fun characters. That's also why everyone loves Sveta so much. Dark Dawn is far from being a bad game or a bad golden sun. It's main flaws are pacing and absence of proper backtracking. The music is cool, story is nice (just not paced properly), character are fun, environment are gorgeous, combat system got deepener with the weapon skills, puzzles were still awesome !Are... are you kidding me?
If you had the text of Golden Sun read out to you, you would have no idea what character was saying what because the entire first party was just a giant conglomerate of non-characters.
Dark Dawn, at the very least, made each character unique. The first four are kind of copies of their parents, but they at least have one or two unique traits that set them apart from each other. Tyrell is impulsive and lacks forethought. Karis is analytical, though quick to anger. Rief is scholarly and submissive, not usually joining confrontation.
The second half actually has fantastic characterization for the franchise. Even Himi had an excellent backstory and setup, they just never did anything with her.
To answer your question, no. Dark Dawn is not as good as the originals. It’s not a terrible game, but it’s not the best Golden Sun game. Just go into it with low expectations. And most importantly, just enjoy it for what it is, not what you think it should be and you’ll be fine.I finally beat GS2. Both GS1 and GS2 I enjoyed pretty much, I might even play the 1st one again soon. I beat 2 by literally using isaac's team in the end lol, felix's team didn't grew on me as much as characters go… I think felix story was interesting, but i prefer Isaac as the main guy overall. Now I'm gonna play DD… should I expect same goodness?
Except he usually tells us when it's only from one source, ahead of time. So for example, he told us that only one of his sources said it was Incineroar, and then later clarified that now everyone was telling him it was Incineroar. Even though he didn't have to, since Incineroar is probably in the game regardless. The fact that he uses these "outs" even when he doesn't have to, is making me feel like there is some legitimacy to them. It's quite simple.
It's an easy out for him. "This is what my sources told me!"
*gets something wrong*
Oh, that was only *one* source...
It doesn't change the fact that it could well be a method to make backwalking easier. He's done it for other fighting games why not now.Except he usually tells us when it's only from one source, ahead of time. More unique doesn't always = better. The way you describe Tyrell, for instance, is actually why I probably like Garet more than Tyrell.Are... are you kidding me?

Yeah that is something to note. The 3DS really caused more problems than good when it came to smash 4. And wouldn't put that past them to halt Isaac's development for that reason as well. Add that as the 4 potential reason to my list.I know some people think saying the complicated moveset is an excuse, but there is some merit. Before Smash 4, Sakurai mentioned in an interview that gimmick characters like MegaMan and Villager normally wouldn't have been in a Smash game. He also mentions that Palutena was the hardest to design with all her custom moves and that her super speed and Shulk's Monado arts broke the balance of the game so he had to adjust those problems.
If Isaac does come with some form of gimmick in his moveset, at least in ultimate he wouldn't be one of many like in 4. Ridley and K. Rool are designed without gimmicks and with Isaac being possibly the sole one with a complicated moveset bodes well with lesser newcomers this time around.
Though still think he was cut for 3ds limitations since a if a fully playable character like Ice Climbers can be cut, no reason to think an assist who's causing problems would be any different.
Is the general discussion thread really that bad?Cast my votes... again...
Like last time I voted for Banjo, Isaac, Amaterasu and Elma.

At this point I'm really, really hoping the next Smash reveal kills Vergeben and/or the Box Theory.
How to kill Vergeben's Leak: Incineroar or Ken Assist Trophy.
How to kill Box Theory: 3 or more characters or a character who isn't Incineroar or Ken.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind either of those two characters, I just don't like the fact that the two together are killing any and all discussion on the General Thread.
Well, it's hyperbole, but yeah, pretty much.Is the general discussion thread really that bad?
It's just kind of cringe how serious some people are taking the box theory, when it is in fact a theory. It's to a point I'm seeing people getting insulted or ridiculed for not believing in CoroCoro's 'typo' or being hopeful for who they'd like to see join the roster. Before the box theory, the thread was already pretty bad to read through with the arguments, now it's just ten times worst. Is the general discussion thread really that bad?
It gets pretty bad sometimes lol, but it can be fun tooIs the general discussion thread really that bad?
Wait, wouldn't boxists want believe in the corocoro stage count being a typo, since the higher stage count could potentially point towards more characters then Ken and Incineroar, meaning the box theory could be wrong? It's just kind of cringe how serious some people are taking the box theory, when it is in fact a theory. lmao that got me good lolThis is basically me when it comes to smash speculation right now
Just replace the boxing with the corocoro leak and how people still decide to stay faithful to a box afterwards

I think I know how to liven up the discussion on that thread. It gets pretty bad sometimes lol, but it can be fun too
"Tommy Wiseau tears apart the competition!"I think I know how to liven up the discussion on that thread.
By trying to express my love for one my favorite characters ever that I would just absolutely want to be in smash.
Tommy Wiseau.

I'm reimagining the Jupiter Lighthouse aerie confrontation between Karst and Isaac..I think I know how to liven up the discussion on that thread.

I think Banjo will win, don't want him to win at all though seeing as he is owned by Microsoft...Don't get too comfortable, it could still change.
I don't know how we'll fare against Banjo & Kazooie, but I'd at least like to see Isaac make it past two rounds.
As if. Tommy Wiseau is nowhere near the hype level that Nicholas Cage would be.I think I know how to liven up the discussion on that thread.

Yeah, we're just in between information again, except we have so many theories flying around that we can't even discuss predictions without bopping our heads into one. Not a fun time to talk smashEh, it's gotten to the point where I feel like there's nothin else to be said in the General Speculation Thread. Even the points that I do bring up get mostly ignored and then I wait for the next round of the Box Theory or CoroCoro leak or Vergeben etc. Rinse, repeat, ad infinitum. I do like how it's gone on to discuss DLC more often since it keeps the discussion from spiraling into an over toxic mess of a thread but even then, we're not even to DLC yet, and people are so damn sure that Inceneroar and Ken are all that's left. And that's fine but it doesn't mean it's any fun.
"Anyways, how's your vex life?"I'm reimagining the Jupiter Lighthouse aerie confrontation between Karst and Isaac..
"I dIid not kill her, it's not true! It's bull****! I did not kill her! I did not! Oh hi, Felix."
Sounds like the thread is in a constant state of always being negative, or being overly critical. All because of some stupid ****ing box.Eh, it's gotten to the point where I feel like there's nothin else to be said in the General Speculation Thread. Man. This stuff is so disappointing. They didn't have him say "I'M A VAMPIRE! I'M A VAMPIRE!" while he's sprinting. Only the truest of true Nicolaus Cage fans can come up with the "Ultimate" moveset. As if. Tommy Wiseau is nowhere near the hype level that Nicholas Cage would be.
Just look at his potential moveset:
How to kill Box Theory: 3 or more characters or an Echo Fighter who isn't an Echo of Palutena, Pac-Man, Robin, Shulk, Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt, Ryu, or CloudHow to kill Box Theory: 3 or more characters or a character who isn't Incineroar or Ken.
Thank you!!! I said the same thing like 50 pages ago, this thread moves so fast!Btw, I need to bring this up. People will think that Sakurai's quote, "...so I'm kind of hoping you're not expecting too many new fighters..." literally means the fighter count is very limited. But everyone seems to forget what he said at the beginning of the video for the roster fighter list and I quote, "So we made a video showcasing SOME of the fighters returning..." Yeah, "some" is a lie. But of course, it was to put our expectations low only to oversell us. I still feel that way with his other quote. But who knows really?
We waited a little under 2 months inbetween E3 and the August Smash Direct as well, so it could be a pattern.I actually think we might see a Smash Direct in somewhat early October. That would two months since we got any major smash info so it seems about right.
Oops yeah, meant to say for not believing the 108 I'd a typo. Going to correct that since it sounds backwards lol.Wait, wouldn't boxists want believe in the corocoro stage count being a typo, since the higher stage count could potentially point towards more characters then Ken and Incineroar, meaning the box theory could be wrong?
am I missing something with how this stupid box theory has evolved or something?
I had a feeling that was the case, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing or misunderstanding something.Oops yeah, meant to say for not believing the 108 I'd a typo. Going to correct that since it sounds backwards lol.
On that end, yeah things like Gematsu in 4 just kills speculation and sucks the fun out of it. Been there done that with Ike back in 4, with not only the dreaded FE pattern, but Gematsu making Chrom seem inevitable.
I really want another Robin esque reveal, someone to throw the current speculation scene on it's head. Even if it won't immediately kill the box theory, but I currently find the 103 more annoying.

If someone really was cut from the direct, we’ll know pretty soon because they’ll probably do a reveal like they did with Robin. I really doubt they’d rearrange a smash direct to fit them, instead opting for the easier option to just reveal the character on its own.Oops yeah, meant to say for not believing the 108 I'd a typo. I'll simply say this for Dark Dawn. If you want to get all the Djinns, look up points of no returns so you don't accidentally cross one and lose out on some Djinn.I'm at the first area tutorial-ish lol but i will continue playing it today.
