So, yet another "leak" is out (similar to the Gardevoir/Gothielle one) saying Camelot has no interest in Golden Sun and declinded Isaac and Felix for the game.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Like.. wut?

Didn't the Takahashi brothers do an interview saying that when they were designing Mario's role in Aces' story, they thought about him being somewhat like an Adept from Golden Sun? I'm sure they would be thrilled to have Isaac in Smash Bros., as Golden Sun was their most successful property ever developed (and before people suggest the Mario sports game, Nintendo made those in-house first and then Camelot took over due to their familiarity with golf games, since they were responsible for creating Sony's "Everybody's Golf"), and if this goes over huge in the community, this would help set up more Golden Sun games down the road.
Yeah I really don't buy that. I feel like they'd consider it an honor that Sakurai wanted to put a character from a series they created in Smash. Especially when they've been happy to have Golden Sun content in Smash before.

Not to mention that it appears to be piggy backing off the Gothitelle leak, which is enough to set alarm bells ringing on its own.

I refuse to believe this leak on two fronts...

First, the Gardevoir/Gothielle combo still reeks to me. If true, so be it, but it would be the first time I outright question an inclusion on this roster. It just feels like there is a long list of Pokemon reps that fans would rather have, though I will admit my knowledge of that fandom is limited.

Second, and more importantly to us Isaac fans, until I see a quote straight from Sakurai or the Camelot people then I call bunk. For Camelot, this would be the ultimate form of shooting yourself in the foot for no good reason combined with screwing over fans. If you don't want to make another game, you don't have to make one. Was there a deluge of content or things for Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B, Dr. Mario, or Captain Falcon that I am unaware of? It doesn't make sense to spite the Smash team and the fans in the process. Unless someone can show me a trend me of hard feelings from the Camelot people towards this IP, or other stupidity on their part, it's just unfathomable to me that this would be the reason Isaac doesn't make it in.

Edit: Also, with regards to the more overall arc of the leak...The characters are pretty solid when it comes to predictions because they're the most talked about so I'm wary that it's just a prediction disguised as a leak. And in my opinion, the Spirits mode that is put forward is a great, educated guess.

Isaac is Camelots poster child. For them to say they don't want Isaac is absurd. Then they would of fought for Waluigi or something.

Plus the Takahashi brothers know we want more GS doing that stupid, if the fan demand is there.

Not about our boy Isaac because I believe he is playable but seeing everyone talk about a few other characters, I feel the need to give my thoughts.

I believe Skull Kid is a boss. I'm not against him being playable because I'm not against any original video game character being in Smash but Sakurai heavily hinted at special bosses but wouldn't go into detail about it with Dracula and Rathalos. If you noticed in Dracula's fight, the stage was VERY different from the way it was previously shown to us in Simon's trailer. Also, Classic Mode is specialized for every character which leads me to believe that at higher levels instead of fighting Master Hand you actually fight a boss from that game's series which makes me think Skull Kid might be that for Young Link. We'll see.

I do NOT believe Banjo and Kazooie are in the game. Sucks to say this but it makes no sense for Nintendo to go out of their way to revive a character and franchise that they can't even have games for on their systems. Every other third party character can potentially have a new game on a nintendo console but Banjo can not. That doesn't make sense to me, plus I have a hard time believing Microsoft would allow any of their characters to get in Smash before Master Chief. Now that I'm typing this Master Chief would be hype!

Geno's possible inclusion has me nervous. I would love for Geno to be playable but Square Enix doesn't appear to be as cool as the other third parties about having their characters and music in Smash. I don't know why that is but I can't ignore the fact that there are still just TWO songs on the Midgard stage and all the other third parties have Assist Trophies except Square Enix. Maybe it will be a blowout after the possible Geno reveal but I'm worried about his odds of being in.

Assuming my thought may be true I think our remaining unique newcomers may be: Isaac, Bandana Dee, Marshall (Rhythm Heaven), Elma, a Pokemon, and one last third party (either Geno or someone we aren't thinking of).

That leak is fake. "X wins" isn't a thing anymore.

If you listen to the new King K Rool footage at the victory screen, the announcer just says "King K Rool" rather than "King K Rool Wins".

Since many people at E3 complained about the change to X wins, they may be in the process of reverting it.

The reason there are so few music tracks is this.

Nintendo has to pay the license for one of their characters.

But music has to have nintendo pay for a liceaze for square earlier FF music (with a heavy fee involved), and THEN Square needs to go to Nobou to license the music so they can THEN give the permission for Nintendo to have music in their game.

That sounds simple, but going through hoops like that JUST to get music just isn't worth for a company like SE.

I can tell you this without a doubt, if the real roaster was online we would know about it.

With the gematsu leak we had all but one.

Skull kid is like 50/50 now. He will not be an AT but play as something more. I feel like Zelda already has it's villian rep. 2 would be weird. However, atm I want everyone to get in. Isaac Geno and Skull Kid fans (The star sun and moon) . However I agree, I feel like he may be a boss. He can teleport around and such.

With Banjo it's a tricky situation. I feel like he will make DLC sellable.

Geno is in, I feel it. I feel like Square does not care about Geno. Maybe Square allowed Geno in Smash 4 but they put all the developmet at the time for DLC and Bayonetta. So the outfit was the best bet.

Im betting Isaac, Geno, and a Pokemon as the 3 next newcommers.

I mean, I get Isaac idc anymore, I will be a happy camper

Gardevoir does have a fanbase and as someone who isn't THAT familiar with Pokemon (haven't played gens 3-5, probably couldn't remember all pokemon from gens 2, 6 and 7 either despite actually playing those games), even I've seen a fair amount of love for Gardevoir.

Gothitelle is the odd one that, as far as I know, doesn't have that large of a fanbase, and unlike Gardevoir, I didn't even know Gothitelle existed before this supposed leak.

I feel like if the echo was programed for Gardevior it would be programed for "richter" who was in it but not Simon

I always assumed it was licensing issues but how is it different from the rest of the third parties?

Microsoft has openly said they are fine with Banjo in Smash.

It's like Spider-Man in the MCU. Banjo in Smash raises Smash's value and the value of Banjo's games for Microsoft. It's win/win for both.

Gamefaqs has some real big hate to us now.
Isaac is getting more love on 4chan

Man, to see people get upset over a video game character is amazing

Yep! It's a win win for both Nintendo and Microsoft. It's just if Sakurai is willing to say yes

I've been saying something similar the last few days.

Skull Kid is not necessarily a lock for Smash Ultimate; Skull Kid's fandom was at their quietest from the release of Smash 4 up to the August Direct, this includes the Ballot, when his support should have been at their loudest for best results.

I feel like people are beginning to see Skull Kid as a shoo-in, and are therefore setting themselves up for disappointment (and salt). It happened with Ridley (Sm4sh), it happened with K. Rool (S4DLC), it even happened with Waluigi (E3).

The only character who was a shoo-in was the Inklings, and we already have them.

Could Skull Kid get in? Yes, obviously. Is he guaranteed? No.

Yeah, it's gonna be pretty damn expensive.

Of course they have, it's pretty much free publicity. They wouldn't have to lift a finger for Nintendo to revive their dead franchise. That's the problem I'm seeing. It makes no sense for Nintendo to go out of their way for a character they can never have on their systems after this. Not sayin Banjo won't happen but from a business standpoint it doesn't make sense for Nintendo to use them.

Sure it does. Banjo in Smash would launch hype into the stratosphere and make them even more money, and build good will into the Smash brand going forward, much like additions like K. Rool and Ridley, not to mention the opportunity to make video game history by uniting competitors.

Plus Microsoft and Nintendo have been pretty chummy lately. Minecraft is on Switch - with a Banjo skin - and it's likely they were able to work out a deal to bring DK64 to the Virtual Console due to the existence of Jetpac. With the trademark filed for an N64 Classic, it's not too far of a reach that they might have worked out a deal to bring Rare games, or at least Banjo-Kazooie, to the N64 Classic. Banjo in Smash is just cross promotion for that.

That's assuming Rare wants to revive Banjo anyways. They have plenty of opportunities to do so and yet they haven't done anything to indicate they are working on Banjo at all. Banjo getting into Smash is likely not going to change that.

Lol that leak is clearly just trying to frankenstein together all the prominent leaks in order to boost its credibility. The leaker doesn't seem to realize that just one of those other leaks being debunked (looking at you, Gothitelle) torpedoes the whole thing.

Not to mention the Camelot part just doesn't make sense.

No but Street Fighter falls under Capcom's umbrella along with Megaman and the Rathalos assist trophy. Plus Street Fighter has 31 songs compared to Final Fantasy's 2 so it's not like Capcom isn't being "generous"

I've heard some people mention that a deal with Microsoft could lead to getting Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie for a potential N64 mini.

Not saying that will happen but you can't really tell us that there aren't scenarios where it would be beneficial for them get Banjo & Kazooie on the Smash roster.

In saying that, an N64 mini is the first time I'd actually consider getting one of those mini consoles.

While your take isn't that of the majority, the fact people would have to look up Gothitelle doesn't help with that character being anything but a Poke Ball summon. Gardevoir is recognizable due to being the first "human-like" Pokémon that wasn't creepy as hell like Jynx or Mr. Mime. Plus, the only gimmick Gothitelle has is "it knows how the trainer will die", which is never explored in the games besides being a weird Pokedex description.

Metal Gear and Castlevania both have ATs, along with Bomberman. So I doubt the existence of other Capcom ATs has any bearing on whether Street Fighter has one.

It would never happen but having Cofagrigus or Reuniclus playable in Smash would be amazing.

This is why I don't really get excited for Pokemon reps, my tastes in Pokemon aren't really popular enough to get in.

To play devil's advocate, Gothitelle does have it's fans, just not many, and it doesn't really have the mass appeal of Pokémon like Gardevoir.

I never said there were no scenarios of it happening. I'm simply saying from the outside looking in, with no knowledge of possible deals, Banjo and Kazooie don't seem likely to me. I hope I'm wrong, but my gut tells me to not assume he's a shoo-in.

Infernape is literally my all time favorite Pokemon and he would be perfect in Smash. Best we can hope for someday is publicity with a DP remake.

Wasn't Gothitelle an attempt to replicate Gardevoir's success in the next gen ? In a sens would make sens as why it's Gardevoir's echo ... eehh why am I trying to find excuses for this fake leak ...

Somebody mentioned it earlier but the "leak" mentions that the "This games winner is X" was changed to "X wins" because of the long Kirby names....

but the most recent King K. Rool footage is showing that it now just calls out the name of the fighter at the victory screen.

So it's dead.

Not only that, but the leaker said they were playing the most recent build. The most recent build likely would have had this change, since it along with many other changes made were brought to attention during E3

Somebody mentioned it earlier but the "leak" mentions that the "This games winner is X" was changed to "X wins" because of the long Kirby names....

but the most recent King K. Rool footage is showing that it now just calls out the name of the fighter at the victory screen.

So it's dead.
I think they are still experimenting with the announcer lines because at E3 it was “(character) wins!” Perhaps victory animations are too fast for the old style.

I prefer the old style since the name syncs up with the announcer, so I hope they bring it back.

I assume/hope they are still fixing the winner announcement. Just hearing the announcer say "King K. Rool" in that new footage is really awkward.
