I doubt it's gonna beat Hans, and Vlad, but I'll be curious what they're gonna name him.

Changing languages to hear the different names shout by the announcer is gonna be more fun even than with Jigglypuff.

Isaac's Korean name is 로빈(Robin) because back in Brawl, every name was translated. Now currently he's the only Golden Sun character in Smash to have a Korean name, since all the others are written in English.

Most likely, they'll go with Robin, his Japanese name. I'm pretty sure Korea uses the Japanese voice clips for every character, so this would stay consistent.

Last night I had a dream where there was a Nintendo Direct and a Super Smash Bros portion started and it began showing Ivan and what looked like a Golden Sun battle and I began tearing up and going "OMG OMG OMG" and Isaac showed up. It's always interesting to read through non-Isaac supporter's takes on the character. Support threads can become a bit of an echo chamber with conflating points that make the character seem more likely than they actually are in the grand scope of options.

Subjectivity aside, I also totally get where Naz is coming from- these topics have been covered so often here that we are now beating an empty plot on the ground where a horse had once been. I guess we can brace ourselves for the surprised Pikachu meme once something Golden Sun gets announced.

Kudos to those of you that expressed support for Isaac in the Rate Their Chances thread. I agree that the AT's de-confirm rule is pretty much in the trash and the signs pointing to a new Golden Sun game are very promising, though I find it irritating how fast the majority of that thread simply dismissed any of the Pro-Isaac arguments with "lol AT's aren't getting in" despite everything we have to consider. Unfortunately, it goes to show how much of Smash fandom is just about constant gatekeeping and emotionally denying the probability of certain characters getting in simply because people have no personal attachments to said characters. Aw well. I guess time will tell who's vindicated in the end.

I'm pretty tired of arguing the same points. It's been far too long since I've been an active RTC participant, and it's clear no minds have changed since I left. Like, maybe I just take the whole rating process too seriously, but if you're presented with strong evidence of reconsidering base Ultimate content in Fighters Pass 2 as well as strong evidence a new Golden Sun release is imminent, why wouldn't you at least consider Isaac a non-zero possibility? Heck, the same people are generally arguing Waluigi isn't a possibility, and I'd argue he has an even stronger case given the vocal outcry since E3 2018. Good on y'all who choose to fight the good fight, but I'm not sure it's worth the energy to do so when the other side clearly isn't interested in hearing it.

The thing about support threads is it's made up of individuals who love the character and series. So while we're aware that Isaac is an assist trophy and that his series is currently dormant, it's not the end all be all to topics where it's just about Isaac's Smash chances. We can just have fun discussing Isaac and the series without constantly bringing the subject up.

As for the rate your chances thread, it is what the name implies. I personally never expect Isaac to get high ratings, ever lol. He will always have no chance cause he's an assist trophy and his series is dormant. And even trying to be open minded to non supporter takes about Isaac, it's not engaging or fun reading that Isaac's fans are entitled or stay believing in an non existent new game. At that point the takes aren't even about Isaac anymore but us as his supporters. Personally I don't think I'll be up to explaining why I rated Isaac so high and going back and forth over it. It's way too tiring and exhausting but really kudos to those that do.

Exactly. I totally understand if people want to argue that Isaac is unlikely, because in all honesty he is. AT's may not hard de-confirm, but having both a current AT and a Mii Costume are certainly two strikes against him. That said, there is still evidence to show that Isaac still has both fan demand and possible modern relevance, in addition to the fact that Sakurai has constantly shown that fan rules are meant to be broken. And what if we get a Min Min vs Springman situation where we end up getting Matthew or Felix instead of Isaac but they still basically play the same? You can argue that Isaac's chances are 50%, 40%, 20%, 1%, even 0.00001%, but to say with all confidence that the chance is absolute zero is just a pathetic example of straight-up gatekeeping. I find it hard to take people seriously when they throw around such careless assumptions. It's like my boy Obi-wan says: "Only a Sith deals in absolutes."
