It could just be because you're new. There's a thing where you can't use sigs if you haven't been around for very long. It should fix itself once you post or have been a member more.

I did that, but it says underneath the sig editor that IMG code is not allowed. I suppose I'll just have to be patient.

You've got to post more. Kirby King just said that SWF can't just let anyone use a sig. There could be picture abuse with innappropriate(spelling?) words and such.
