wuts wrong with cell shaded? have u ever really played a game with cell shading? it looks **** good once u get used to it...and itll prolly be 2.5
and also if u notice, when they fight its only on a straight line and when ken does his shoryuken in the beginning ryu somehow ends up on the other side...could this be rolling/evade?
Cell-shaded will definetly be different from 2-D gameplay, have you played the two and compared them? There is a difference.
Rolling/Evade will be a horrible idea, this is severely limiting characters who utilize long range zoning techniques. I am tired of universal rolls/evade/parry in Street Fighter games. Because it simply kills the use of characters with projectiles, and variety, for all it does is emphasize on rushing down.
Street Fighter was great because it utilized Long/Mid/Close range tactics, and relied upon the individuality abilities of the characters. This meant that if Zangief was going to get in on you, had had to build an offense of learning how to avoid projectiles from projectile characters, and once he got in, he could some of his beastly SPD tactics.
Guile used his SB as an offensive tool to rushdown and keep on poking, and to give him a buffering space to either punish an opponent for jumping at it, or to outzone his opponents.
Sagat's Low Tigers where made to pressure and zone his opponents into making the mistakes of jumping forward. Balrog was a powerhouse rushdown character, who utilized his turn punches in HF to go through fireballs and rushdown to keep the pressure. Or in ST, with his inv. headbutt and high/low dash mixups to keep the pressure.
That's what made Street Fighter awesome, alot of character variety in the way they play. You add something like roll/evade or whatever, and you'll downright remove the abilities of some characters tools that they rely upon.
I honestly want SF4 to have more closer resembelance to Oldschool style, because in there, they had great character individuality and tools, and there was a huge emphasis upon long/mid/close range games.
I'm voting for 2-D, or 2.5 D as in MvC2 style of graphics, not cel-shaded.
