Steel City Smash - general thread

^ oh, ok cool. i remember all of you guys, yea, it would be great to play with you sometime. just let me know when and where, and ill get the crew together. kyu, you might remember me from comicon -- tag is PEST (stands for PE Sweetooth, but only a few people know that).

shel -- as you can see, i started a crew after comicon. we are branched off of steel city tekken and the steel city gamerz. it should be a pretty fun experience

i smashed again today and i can start to see that playing with all these new people is finally starting to pay off, with my ganon at least because i played with him at least 20 matches today. i played with suretman for the first time who is incredibley good especially with random characters that few people use and i could only barely beat him with my best characters even in some bad matchups he plays very smart. but yeah what i really meant to say is that i need the address of whoever's house we're doing that at on saturday so if someone maybe jordan could pm me the details that would be cool.

So this is where Hardcase and Mr. Bigg Rigg went off too. I Hardcase had fallen into a pit somewhere, and as for icebergh... well hes always on the move in his truck. Might have to go buy a Cb radio and get myself a trucker Name. Hmmmm maybe Sausage Ma'hony...... Nahhhhhhh i could do better. Maybe I will dust off the GC one day and play with you guys, I never seen Smash played seriously so it should be fun.

This is good, I am interested in joining this crew. It would be good for us to make videos too. Most of you have probably never seen a match of yourself on video before. I have seen matches of myself and it's really good to see yourself playing because you can catch all your mistakes (and believe me the first time you see yourself on video you'll be like: "OMG wtf I suck!"). Unfortunately, I did not check this thread until today, but I would not have been able to go anyway If you do this this next weekend I should be able to come.

im not 100% sure how this video thing works itd be cool if u showed us sometime and joined the crew. if you can get a nice setup ive always wanted to make a hyrule temple combo vid so if anyone's down to help me do that. but anyways good matches today guys and sweetooth your samus is pretty **** good one of the best ive ever seen personally but thats not saying much. you choked and made a lot of mistakes in the actual tournament ladder but you came back during the rematches afterword. definitly fun never smashed for so many hours in my life. and **** farzan i cant believe you won that ganon ditto we'll have another one day.

It was pretty fun playin with you guys. I see a lot of promise in yall, so keep on practicing. I'm in the process of getting a job for the summer, so I'm not sure what kind of hours I'll have but when I find out when I'm free, I'll be wanting to smash more and hopefully next time we can get more settups going and I'll start throwing out tips when I can. I didn't say things with some matches cuz it was a tourney setting.

I do have to say it was funny to watch the steel city tekken guys have some real life tekken battles going...Backyard tekken anyone? Haha, anyway...tekken sux, smash rox deal with it you tekken losers!

The original crew was Pittsburgh Crew ran by Akuzukin Cha Cha. He basically made pittsburgh gaming what it is today.Without him none of us would know each other.Id still be playing Markus in Soul Calibur wandering if there was anyone who could beat me.Tyson would be playing Tekken with Tim trying to use scrub tech. sherrone would be stealing systems to mod for no aparent reason. Lamar would be playing halo with Jordan.only the 2D guys would exist here. and none of us would have ever seen a combo vid...lol.So yeah.. thats just how it goes. I think it was my stepping out the box which got some other people more intereseted who all wanted to improve but didnt know where to go first. namely Team Shoto.And to be honest it was a good step for all of us to make because now we are the heart of pittsburgh gaming.So just to keep the whole family together sweetooth...ill be in your crew.strength in numbers. Tim downloaded DBR's combo vid so get in touch with him if you want to see it.and he wants to be known as Softcase since lamar is Hardcase.

Tekkens not boring if your tying to get to highest level. Ie. wavedashing, lightdashing, buffering, parrying, and super hard combos. I have been trying to light dash for years and I can still only get 2 in a row out. And yes streethoops involves a controller. You don't want to see me on a real court, that would be the definition of ownage.

"whats up with all the trash talk?" i told him we were all just playing around (well i know i was). but street hoops... i own all... lol. and i had no idea there was all those technical things in tekken. i try to pick it up whenever i can... i even had tyson show me some stuff. its just hard to jump into a game when everyone you know is soooo much better than you .

Its like the greatest game EVAR i mean like it pwns like your life and everything all at the same time.its so hard that the computer beats the best players no matter what. And you dont want me in street hoops ill just dunk on yall heads cause i got hops like dat.Which Mark area you? and yeah I was telling the BR smash players that unfortunatly tekken has much more in the way of mind games than Smash will ever have.... if you hit the ground in tekken your already guessing 50/50 on what your opponet could do.....thats just weather they will go high or low... that doesnt incorporate grabbinig or attack canceling or anything.in smash if you hit the ground its like well maybe you can tech the attack maybe you cant. but more than likely your not really guessing what your opponet can do because wake ups in smash are much safer than tekken. where getting up wrong can get you killed or back on the ground guessing again...and im sure no one wants to beat 50 dollars on somthing they have a 50% chance at getting.

Oh, and about that STEEL CITY thing.... NO. The only way you could ever consider yourself a STEEL CITY GAMER is if you joined the crew. This is mostly because we are branched off of PGH's best tekken crew SCT, and party because I said so.

Fzan -- dont worry, this event will most likely be ALL samsh. only reason we didnt have alot of setups last timeis because there were mostly SCT peeps there. but yea, i will need people to bring thier cubes and tv's ... i have 2 tvs available and 1 cube of my own. the tv's aren't special, but they'll do.

hey also i'll take someone from sct on in a tekken 3 style duel. i dont know if anyone plays that old game anymore but im pretty dam good at it and yet the only other one ive played is tekken 5 and only a couple times. mostly i just used the combos i knew from tekken 3 (and many still worked) or i button mashed with steve fox.
