keerarer, thats the name of the guy that I faced. Yeah he would know about F_ZAN. Last time I heard anything of him was from stephan in the summer time during the CyberCons. Stephan started ****** him and F_ZAN from what i've heard, and apparently stopped going(that was the first time that I heard the whole thing about projectors)

I knew barley tech when I faced keerarer and he barely was beating me that time. I def wanted to get a chance to destroy that peach of his and ditto the **** out of his young link b4 he quit.

LOL I guess I should practice with Link since I still lose to people with him... Granted I stoped playing Shiek because I wasnt losing to people...Ironic.. maybe I should just start coming to Cybercon tourneys to take all the money. HEHE like i need it. Guess Shiek may make a brief comeback til Link is Top Tier.

Swiftbass get at me about going to Capefest.

have you been practicing iceburgh? It seems like the competition around here has gotten a little better, from what little I can tell, even with Fzan, keer, and suretman dissappearing.

Is jordan too busy with college girls to play anymore?

i faced farzan with my GnW and got him down by 2, back when i could barley L-cancel. I want to play him again.

Keerarer beat me only be one stock each time i played him. Played a Y.link ditto with him, and i hardly play Y.link. Almost beat him. Played his peach with fox, almost beat him. He isnt as good as he thinks he is but hes friends with Farzan.

Keerarer strategy for peach - Spam radishes, d-smash, Dair>fair, and the occasional grab. Not that amazing.

I just had to clarify on what you said, 'cause I've played Farzan and Keer multiple times, and I was also there from the time Stephone and Farzan were at CyberConxion (Keer wasn't even there). Stephone did not **** Farzan, whoever said that, it was a close match. In his defense, Farzan was using Fox on those laggy projectors and he had never played Stephone until their match, so he certainly wasn't used to Stephone's defensive style. Regardless, Stephone won fair and square.

But um, Farzan and Keer aren't even here to voice their own opinion and heck, they apparently don't play SSBM anymore. So... yeah. gg.

Wish I had my old 7 Passenger Van ... that was awesome when we used to travel for SC2 tourneys and such.Anyone else driving to the Smashfest?

Also in Keer's Defence Fox vs Peach is a bad match up.. Same with Fox vs Link. Hell if anyone has any skill with Fox should barely lose to peachs or Links. And if keer spammed turnips on you then its because you didnt pressure him enough to where he couldnt use them or didnt do anything that made him think about when to use them...hehe he hates mid air catchs especially when hes trying to edge gaurd you with them. But you also have to remember before F-zan came into the picture none of you had beaten keer's peach consistently no matter how many times you played him.So even if his strategy isnt the most in depth and wild winning and being effective is all that matters in the end.

Though i do know after playing on Projectors 1 time at State College with shiek i know how bad they are and never played on them again since then.

Videos up soon.

I've played keerarer twice. Once in a FFA at comicon, and twice at SitC. He was like the third person i played there, and i only had like 3 games to warm up. He isnt that great from the little i played him. From the talk i herd he didnt back it up very well. I could get Farzan to 1 stock everytime with GnW and i just started playing the 8-bit before the tourney.

Im not saying he is bad, im just saying he is not as good as people made him out to be.

Taki, or anyone else interested:

I won't be able to smash at my place tomorrow afternoon (girlfriend's mom is visiting... would just be weird). I might be able to smash someplace else if anyone has any ideas. I also might be able to join if people are playing again on friday, at least if people are gonna keep playing after 5:00.

I never considered Keer Godly or anything. But when i first met him he was one of those players where he stood out like this.

----Pro Smashers----

----Good Smashers----

----Keer----

----Friends and Random People who claim to be good.----

if you played him when i first met him he was to the point where Normal skill couldnt take you any further and you could only improve by adding advanced techniques to your play. Most average smashers that just play with their friends and dont do tourneys only progress so far. eventually 1 stands out among the group due to playing more/adjusting their style.Thats where keer was when i met him. At that time very few people played serious in pitts which is why he was considered extremely good. Granted when i first played him i hadnt played the game for over a year and he forced me to play him all night because i was the best competition he had ever had.. i still managed to take 3rd in the tourney the next day even though i could easily beat the guy who took second.( I ran into keer in the loser finals.) that was before I LCed or anything but his improvement since then has been extremely well since he didnt have many people at his level to play against and was pretty much like me where he hadnt been to a tourney with big name players and such. Though for now he hasnt really been trying to improve to much.Im sure if he really wanted to he could improve alot more but i texted him about the smashfest and his answer was pretty much.

I have no desire to go and I want Brawl. Basically hes just playing to keep at the game but wants to take brawl serious from the start. hes already talked to me about traveling for brawl tourneys from the start and such. and even making a few trips to see max and cape and other players who will most likely be above average and doing what they can to keep up. so...... keep playing its only a matter of time before someone steps up to the point where i feel the need to take him and farzan off the Blue text list.

I never said they were godly, i just would like a chance to challange keerarer for his blue text. He is a good player. I guess i was just disapointed when i actualy played the guy people said couldn't be beat. (undefeated Comicon 2 years running).

Dude, you really shouldn't stress out about it. Who really cares about blue text anyway? I mean, I'm sure FZan and Keer were nasty in their day, but until they come out and play you again, why should you assume that they're any better than you? I mean, they can have all the blue text they want and I'll still take money finishes at Cyberconxion all year. It doesn't really matter if they've lost their will to play. I mean, I know where you're coming from, cause I'd love to have the chance to beat those guys just to be able to know that I'm playing and beating the best competition that is available. But since they don't post anymore and no one knows how to contact them and they don't hit the tournies anymore, why should you(or anyone else for that matter) consider them smashers to beat anymore either?

why is all of pittsburgh still awake? Anyway.....

there's a crew battle?

...

just to give some perspective on the whole keer/fzan thing, I've played them both not long before they quit. I managed to beat keer's y. link at the comicon, and gave his peach a good run for his money before he pulled off a comeback win, and I sort of suck (to be fair, I was using marth, and I'm usually good against both peach and y. link. And he may have been off, who knows?). I never did very well against fzan, though from playing both of them, I couldn't predict who would win if fzan were to face kwalk currently.

still need to play most of you guys. The lack/scarcity of human competition is really cramping my game.

I know where keer lives and have his cell number so i could play him whenever im in town.Though im a pretty good judge of players from playing them so it wont be hard for me to switch the text if i play someone much better than them. And i dont assume they are better than anyone. Also Keer has never posted.the only reason he posted in the matchfinder thread was because i made him. F-zan posted on his own. but i think Keer has contacts with him to play him as well. But maybe i will show up for the next CyberConxion tourney if im not camping out to get a Wii or anything you know. Also depending on when i get into town tommorow maybe we can do some playing tommorow night. if your interested get at me on my cell and we can plan something before the smashfest at capes on saturday.

I should be there around 12. I'll see if my some of my friends from highschool can make it up, but they couldn't make it until around 4 anyhow.

I'll bring an extra Gamecube again, but I don't have any wired controllers... just the wavebirds.

also let's set up a date for this **** crew battle =)
Taki, Swift, are you guys down for this? We could set a date in the future, maybe have teams from CMU, Duquesne+Pitt, A-Laon's group, SCS, etc. And since none of us are particularly that large, say 3-6 people, we could say allow each person to play twice, once with their primary and once with their secondary? Just throwing out some thoughts.

And again, whatever # we settle on, I'm fairly certain CMU can get at least 4 (PockyD, Wesley, K-Walk, and possibly iBrow, and any of the other CMU'ers I know who smash but don't post on Smashboards).

im not the clearest about the crew battle rules(all I know is about the 20 stock thing) but would be DEF interested. I ran into a few who play the game yesterday and maybe things will look up for PITT smashing, I probly wont find ppl good enough to start a PITT only crew so the Dusqene/PITT colaboration seems to be the plan. Umm I'll give more input etc on the dates and times after this weekend and whether I think I can assemble a stand alone PITT crew.

@ K_walk

did you change your S/N from supe to K_walk or did you just make a new account? I cant seem to find the option to edit my name, if theres one that is.

I just made a new account after I started entering local tourneys and such.
Um, this may be entirely untrue but I think if you pay for membership here AND you speak to a moderator THEN maybe there's a chance you can have it edited. But it was such a hassle I was like whatever.

Naka, I have no idea what the crews are going to be, it's just an idea for now. But like I stated before, probably people from CMU, people from Duquesne+Pitt (maybe you can join them if they don't have enough numbers), and I don't know anything about A-Laon and his group but I think they go to CyberConxion so they may be interested.

Yeah format wise, your stock would carry over from your previous match, and crews essentially decide their order on the fly, so the 1st people pitted against each other is probably a double-blind, and then the winner, let's say has 2 stock left, then he plays against the next smasher from the opposing crew with 2 stock to begin with.

right; each player has to pick a char ahead of time

and no, each crew has a team captain that chooses the next player on the fly (so you can counterpick in a sense)

Yeah you should bring it. I say camcorder is better than nothing at all.

With crew battles, everyone chooses their character beforehand and the first stage is random. ORDER of players is not predetermined, except for the 1st round (double-blind), decided by each respective crew. The incoming challenger then must use his predetermined character... but if he wishes to change his character he CAN. But then, the winner gets to change HIS character AFTER the challenger, and the stage becomes random. If the incoming challenger instead wants to stick with his original character but wants to request a specific stage, then the person who won the last stage can choose a new character. If there are no character changes, the stage is random.
