Have you tried waiting a little and then pressing x and while pressing x, pressing a?

If the game isn't freezing, and the other stage loads, then this one should load too. Does the other one load while doing the code for the unworking one? Or is the original one the one loaded?

Umm.. I hope this isn't considered spam but I just wanted to thank you guys for making such awesome stages/textures, I just snagged a bunch of them and I would have felt funny with saying anything.

Keep up all the good work ♥

Yeah, you only have to put 8 different frames into the file to make the animated 3D gif work.

It's easy, if you have a proper gif xD

The Earthbound one was completely messy, I had to recolor it a lot ^^U

I think I like challenges xD

Ok, I'll upload it now :p

Ok, cuz I wanted to make a lolinternet version :p
Sweet, only 4 frames. Copy-paste twice ftw. I just feel that the animation will be weird because of how the animation works.

I considered it, but I decided not to, because I figured it would be annoying if people wanted to switch from one to the other, or if they wanted to use the ASL code to choose between the two, having the same collision data would make replays work on both.

Also, still about this, it comes with a folder named "example" with lotsa files. How do they work?

Last thing, when I swap Wi-Fi training room over a stage like, say, Rumble Falls, the songs playing on it will be the ones from Rumble Falls or the Wi-Fi training room song?

If you use a code for replacing the stage with waiting room, I think the music is the one on waiting room. Not sure though as I've never used a code like this. Instead, you can use a rel file and place the stage in a manual way, so the song is the one of the stage for sure.

That code works as is, it just adds 9 extra stages into the melee page, and you need 9 rel files in the module folder to make them work. The stages has the names STGCUSTOM1-9, and must be placed into the melee directory. The example is just for not having to search 9 stages to put in there, and not having to make the 9 modules files yourself.

BTW, those 9 stages are pretty outdated, I still have them in my game, but I've edited all of them in order to make them work properly (some of them have a flying pokemon trainer and similar things)

Thanks a lot. I can use them for stage hacking? I mean, putting a stage that should be over Final Destination over one of 'em. Interesting how some of them have the Final Destination Icon and some have the Battlefield Icon, but only Battlefield music seem to play on every one of them. Why is it?

Also, is there a way to change the lighting style of one stage? I mean, I wanted to give my "Viper Manor" stage the lighting from Luigi's Mansion.

- Viper Manor (Chrono Cross)

- Pokemon Puzzle League
(Check my sig if you want those stages)

EDIT: FairKnight, I couldn't get your Hueco Mundo to work over Spear Pillar. The download comes with STGFINAL.pac twice instead of one STGFINAL.pac and STGTENGAN.pac. I tried renaming STGFINAL to STGTENGAN but it doesn't work properly.

You can load any stage in the custom spot, as long as you have a module file for them. The example modules that PW provided are all for the Online Training Stage, since back when he made the code, that was the stage that most hackers were replacing. If you want to use something based on a different stage, you'll need a module corresponding to what the stage originally was.

The icons don't mean anything, and can be changed by altering the values in the code. They have no effect on the stage that's loaded, and are only for show. Unfortunately, one side effect of the code is that all the stages will only play Battlefield's music. There's currently no way to change that.

I'm not sure if I understood it right. So, I can only put a different stage there if I have a stage that can be placed over Wi-Fi Training Room? Or any stage, as long as I have both the .pac and module?

And, do you know about the lighting thing I asked about? How to give a certain lighting to a stage. And is there a way to swap (or simply use) a song list from a stage to another?

Okay, let's say you want to replace Rumble Falls with WWR. You would take the WWR module file, and edit it so it thinks it's going on Rumble Falls. You can then take ANY texture or model hack that will work on WWR and put it as a Rumble falls .pac, however, the original rumble falls will no longer work. The music will stay the same, though. This works for any stage replacement so long as you have the proper module in the right place.

If you use a code to load Wifi waiting room INSTEAD of Rumble falls, The game loads the actual WWR pac through the WWR module on the disk. Therefore, you'll get WWR music instead.

Any stage that's based on the Online Training stage can be put on the expanded stage list simply by using PW's example modules. To use a Final Destination-based stage, for example, you'd need a FD module that's modified to work in the expansion slots. I forgot how to do that, but if you look in the Tutorials and Help forum, I think there's a list of modules somewhere around there.

For the lighting, it's contained in the SceneData of the stage. You can either export the SceneData from a different stage and put it onto yours, or you can wait for Mewtwo_2000 to post so he can tell you how to edit the lighting yourself.

I'm new to this, so I don't know much about how the stages work (like modules, collision data, stage swaps and mods, etc), but I'm very interesting in learning all about hacking Brawl.

I'll check those out, thanks everyone. Seriously, this is the first thread someone answers my questions.

Also:

What I mean is... for example... Final Destination only has 5 songs, while the F-Zero stage or Halberd have many more. So I would like to place my custom songs on F-Zero or Halberd and make one of these song list load on FD intead of FD's list.

Not yet. Dantarion was doing some work on musics, but I think he's taking a break right now.

The closest alternative would be to take the modules for FD and F-Zero, and switch them around (as well as the .pacs, obviously), do some crazy SSS coding (which is easy, but annoying), and then switch the music as you want. The only problem with this is replays and custom random. Replays is the same problem with all custom stages, but for the random, you'd have to keep track of which icon corresponds to which stage.

Editing the ligts requires hex editing. You have to extract the files in lights(NW4R) inside the scene data and find the hex values for the B1, B2 and B3 values, and change them. This is the simplest thing I can say about that. You can edit fogs the same way, and even where the lights come from. But I think the first thing is learning all about modeldata replacing, the possibilities of the texturedatas, and simply replacing the scenedatas in order to change the lightings

--

I was thinking of making a new pack for STGCUSTOMs just as Phantom Wings's, but with fixed stages. What should I do? Including the same stages as Phantom's or some others? I could even post a little list of the stages I have in stgcustoms so you can decide 9 of them, what you say?

Fuuuuuuu-, looks like chinese to me
Looks so hard that makes me wanna leave it as it is

Also I made a quick list of what are the PW stages

PW Stages

1- Tabuu's Wings Destination?
2- Canyon
3- Ridley Stage
4- 3 platforms and whirlwind background
5- Something with an Island on the background
6- Looks like a hill, only 1 ledge
7- A stage in the middle of the forest
8- The colosseum from vs Petey Piranha
9- A stage with samus armor in the middle.
I haven't played the SSE so idk what are those stages lol

Post a list Mewtwo 2000!

Also, @FairKnight

I managed to get it working sometimes. I Renamed the .pac to STGTENGAN_1.pac and made a copy and renamed STGTENGAN_2.pac , so it would fit it's variations. I still get a black stage sometimes (maybe it's Cresselia's one?). About the stage itself... Well the starting points are underground so you die right off the bat when the match starts. It works normally afterwards. There's a weird invisible wall-like thing on the far right. Also, It needs many fixes to look more like Hueco Mundo.
No rocks, no weird iron constructions, only trees, a moon and Las Noches. Like these 2 together:

0200 is the b button. I really recommend you using button activators that include the A button, such as 0300 (B+A)

I recommend not using the B button as an activator at all (or the Start button for that matter). It would make it too complicated when you're trying to select a stage but you end up going back a screen or starting the match early. Stick with R, L, Z, X, and Y + A. Those 5 buttons should give you plenty of combinations for as many stages as you need.
