great to see that wrecking crew stage i was hoping, and to know we are gonna have kid icarus codecs, also looking forward to the new mario circuit jungle hijynks wuhu island and so many others

amd theres still more to come seeing as how the pic in my music on the my music section of the website is missing pac-land so it must just be the starting stages

im slightly annoyed with great cave offensive cause it proves sakurai only want to use the kirby games he worked on

Looks like WuuHuu island is a seperate stage from the Pilotwings one.

Pretty weird selection. Pilotwings / Wuhu Island, Mario Circuit Brawl / Mario Circuit U, Town & City / Smashville...
I just hope the complete selection is massive. Already it's way better than 3DS anyway.
Also Delfino Island **** YEAH

I wonder if all the 3DS past stages are exclusive.

Oh look, tons of stage bosses, enemies and gigantic hazards to **** all over what would otherwise be great stages.

Good thing it looks like there will be an adequate selection of non-crazy stages to make up for Ridley and Yellow Devil and Metal Face and whatever that thing on Garden of Hope was. Looks like Kalos Pokemon League and some others might have very intrusive hazards as well.

Still think it's too bad you don't have the option of turning any stage hazards off. Wily's Castle in particular reminds me of Yoshi's Island with the platforms that pop up on the sides, and they're drawn from things like the moving platforms on Crash Man's stage and Bright Man's stage. It would be such a cool stage, but it's unusable for any but the most casual play because of Yellow Devil. I mean, on Super Mario 3D Land it would be a lot of work to remove the hazards, but Yellow Devil and Ridley would actually be very simple to remove. Oh well.

3D Land has one hazard on it.

Amelia won't let me say
Is anybody else actually super hype for Dk's Jungle Hijinx? Not really for 1v1s, it'd be super campy. But in 8 player smash that stage looks like a blast.

I'm still surprised there's still only 1 Pokemon stage shown off, meanwhile every other prominent series already has 2 or 3 (or 6) stages shown.

Like... A Bramble Blast? :awesome:

The concept is awesome, and the fact you can't use barrels for a short time make it less campy. I'm stocked for every new (and retro) stages, in fact. All of the retro are stages I like!

Hopefully there are more stages to unlock than just these... right?
I just think there's too many returning stages. And it feels like they missed out on a lot of important inclusions (Bowser's Castle, Patch Land, Wind Waker stage, another Pokemon stage)

Also... there is one stage I cannot seem to identify. It has a windmill, and what looks to be a small rocketship... anybody know what it is?

It seems to be Yoshi's Wooly World.

Alors, there will be stages to unlock. Pac Land for exemple. And as you stated, no Toon Zelda stage...

Wooly World? Oh good, I'm happy for some 'yarn' representation.
I'm just hoping for some Epic Yarn music. That game has a stellar soundtrack.

If I recall from the direct, The dev team already thought of circle camping. if you go into another barrel too soon after the first, it will blow up on yourself. That should give he opponent enough time to catch up and chase them down.

A Yarn Yoshi stage. You can see it in between Port Town and Yoshi's Island Melee.

Yeah, I just saw it, too. It seems to be a Yarn Yoshi stage but I thought maybe it was a Paper Mario stage.

I can't recognise this stage. Does anyone know what it is?
My guess is that the Octodude has a fun time at the Wuhu Island beach.

Oh, i made a thread earlier about having heard a song from WarioLand: SHake it during the direct, so possible WarioLand stage? it seems too unfitting for the Gamer stage.

Hmm, looking at that picture reminds me: the WiiU version does not have a G&W stage, so do you guys think we'll see Flatzone 3?

I REALLY hope so. Stonecarving City? Please?
I know, right? Shake it is actually my favorite Wario Land, I even had Charles Martinet sign my copy :D
Stonecarving city will be the most obvious choice from that game, next to a casino or volcano stage, maybe

No, look at the background and the wind mill model. Definitely a Yoshi's Woolly World stage.
It's obvious it';s not Paper Mario, I don't even doubt a second.

The design wouldn't match anyway and it does for Yoshi...It;s not Paper Mario.
Sorry, I phrased it wrong. I meant that I thought at first it was a Paper Mario stage (I thought it was a Wii U version of the 3DS Paper Mario stage) but realizing it was next to the Yoshi stage, realized that was not the case.

But thank you for clearing that up. I am very excited to play on it.

I thought it was a Paper Mario stage at first also. But if you look closer you can see the yarn effect and the wavy background. It is really weird to see a stage of a game that doesn't come out until next year.

I am pretty disappointed that they chose a Woolly World stage over an Epic Yarn one. Kirby's Epic Yarn had so many unique areas that could have made plenty of fun stages with the yarn aesthetic rather than another Yoshi grass land with a different choice of craft materials. Oh well, it's still a bit early to say anything until we see the stage in action.

I'm pretty sure that Hyrule castle could easily make a comeback being such a huge stage
I loooove Kongo Jungle, but this was my first thought as well. Hyrule Castle and Sector Z remain the best Smash stages IMO, now that I know it's possible I want them back so badly. Stage builder can replicate them just fine I'm sure, but.... just.... oh man, please let it happen

Very happy about most of the stages, and I think it's awesome that some of the old fan favorites (Temple etc.) returns! The only possible think that I can complain about is Pyrosphere. I mean, Ridley is basically a playable character (you kan K.O him), he can use a final smash (:D) to turn into meta Ridley and he also has a decent moveset. Shame that they didn't make him playable. The other stage hazards on Pyrosphere were cool though.

Also: Kongo Jungle is back! F*** yeah!

I think we can give him a pass on that one, considering he invented the character.
i suppose (i just really wanted a epic yarn stage)

oh well there quite alot of other stages that i really wanted that i did get like wrecking crew and the return of delfino plaza

i hope we get to see more of the new yoshi stage soon

EDIT: also if you look at the stage select screen on the website the are shown to be platform floating above the island rather that the beach we saw in the direct suggesting that it'll be like delfino plaza and skyloft
