What about a Rhythm Heaven stage in the same style as WarioWare Inc.?

The idea is that you stand on some sort of middle platform as the three "Marshals" stand in the background. They go through a brief singing session before all three Marshals opens their mouths at once. The camera zooms in on one of the Marshals' mouths, which open up to reveal a different Rhythm Heaven scene. It could transition into a number of musical levels.

A moving blimp with a slight breeze pushing to the left and the "Donk Donk" guys causing the platform to shake.

Platforms that launch you high up if you stand on them when the dough-workers jump up. Being launched by the big dough-workers can result in an immediate ceiling KO.

A slow conveyor belt moving to the left with Screwbots that act as walls and platforms.

See-Saw, where See and Saw can end up crushing you into the See-Saw if you stand underneath them when they land.

A battle on a Japanese house's roof that can result in slash damage should you get in the way of the Samurai's slices.

A scrolling level featuring platforms that boost your jumps up much higher if you time your jumps to when Marshal jumps.

At the end of each level, the fighting zooms back out from the mouth of the Marshal, and the singing session continues. Rinse and repeat.

A special thing about this is that the stage segments can match up directly with what music is being played, meaning that for once, My Music could actually determine the legality of a stage.

Stage Music
Munchy Monk 2
Karate Man
Flock Step
Ringside
WarioWare Inc. type of song that plays music respective to each segment

I really like the idea behind this Pac-man stage.
Not
bad but let me explain my own idea:

The external boundaries turn on and off every ten seconds, or less, allowing the players to be swapped out.
The secret passages work like in Portal. The ghosts act like a damage, aiming for the player that has less damage. Their body can be sweped out thought, but their eyes will turn back to the base to restore.
The pellets works like food, repristinathing the health, and the power pellets works like in pacman, tuirning the ghost in food too, temporarily.
Once all the pellets has been consumed you will unlock some trophy (making it a game into the game) and they will reappear.

holy hell i haven't seen you in forever

We need a train stage this time around. Chapter 6 of TTYD, Paradise Line, or Spirit Truc- I mean Tracks. Pick one. What would you all prefer? All could offer interesting mechanics and fantastic music.

For a "train" stage, I had one idea for a Battle Subway stage for Pokemon BW and B2W2.

Basically, you'd start in the actual loading platforms in Nimbasa City. Then, the doors would open in the background, and with a flash of light, you're fighting inside the subway, with the stage very slowly moving to the right, passing through the train cars. Perhaps some battles could take place in the background, such as a Multi-Battle between Hilbert and Hilda/Nate and Rosa against Ingo and Emmet, and so on. Once the train comes to a stop, you land in the quiet area of Anville Town, with rolling hills and cliffs, with train cars being seen in the Background. After a set amount of time, the stage starts to move again, but the subway doors don't open, so the characters fight on top of the Battle Subway until it lands back at the station in Nimbasa.

Uhmmm... How about a stage ON the railroad of Animal Crossing. The train worlks like a hazard when it's moving. Once it stops though, you can climb on it.
If it starts moving thought, you might be carried off stage.

That too. As I said, you can climb on it, if you take care of not being carried away.

If stages from previous Smash games are to return, would you prefer if they kept the original graphics or have them revamped and redesigned to feature detailed HD visuals?

I would rather them be revamped on the Wii U version and kept original in the 3DS version. People get both options that way.

Personally I'd prefer only their mechanics to return. But having to choice I would prefer the second option.
Said that, I want "classic stages" coming from ALL the previous episodes. I mean: some for each one, SSB 64 included.

Theme of Metal Sonic? No sir, this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qJsA_Dpr-0 No objections.

Edit: My order of preference from what I've seen would be Chapter 6 from TTYD (Best chapter asides from 8) > Paradise Line > Animal Crossing Train > Spirit Tracks (Though that entire game was based around the train) > B/W2
You act like both songs can't be on the stage.

MUST be a bowsers Castle stage.
I'd imagine it as being one of the larger stages. Complete with lava, Thwomps and all.

or something simpler like this:
from project M.

Or something like Delfino Plaza. With the platforms moving through different locations.
Next question is: How do envision the next vertical scrolling stage?
In Melee we had the Infinite Glacier, in Brawl we had the Rumble Falls, in the next one?

I think it would be very cool if there was a mario galaxy stage, shaped like a small planet that has a local center of gravity in the center of the stage. (So, gravity would pull things towards the center of the planet) That way, you could walk all the way around the planet, and be launched of the stage in all directions. It would certainly be very unique comparedt to the rest of the stages, though that also means it may take some getting used to.

Nevermind that it will probably be a programming hell if the engine isn't suited up for these kind of things from the start, but still. Make it happen!

Stage idea: Little Mac's/King Dedede's ring.

Aspect: it's square ring as seen by one of it's sides. The ropes works as bumpers. You can fight also in the space among the ring and the poublic, which is formed by Little Mac/Kirby's game opponents (other ones can be seen in the background) and if you get too close to the public one of them will try to hit you. Above the rings there is a lighting fixture working as a platform. It can be destroyed, making the whole stage dark, but then another one is lowered from the ceiling.

All of them! :awesome:
...:awesome: would love this 10/10
Ones I'd like to see: (64 - 10)
All 64 Stages including Metal Crystal
(Melee - 12)
Venom
Great Bay
Fourside
Jungle Falls or whatever
SMB2
Yoshi's Story
Fountain of Dreams
Mute City
Kraid Stage
PokeFloats
Game & Watch
Ice Climber's Stage

(Brawl - 17-19 at most)
Delfino Plaza
The flipping Metroid Stage
Yoshi's Island
DK Falls
Pirate Ship
Pokemon Stadium 2
New Pork City
Halberd
Port Town Aero Dive
Lylat Cruise

Warioware
Skyworld
Pikmin Stage
Castle Siege

Smashville
Pictochat
Electroplankton (Or just have one)

(Also if possible, return GHZ and Shadow Moses Islan)

I think this is mostly fair. It's at the very minimal like 30-40 stages. I could easily cut a bunch off, but most series get 2-3 returning stages.

Battle Clash stage anyone?

The stage hazard could be the player mech and the boss mech shooting at each other while the stage is in the middle of the battlefield.

Key:
_ = Ground
^ = Platforms
x = empty areas

The background of the stage would be a destroyed city. The stage itself would be inside the ruins of the city. each platform is part of a destroyed building while the ground area is the roof of another building.

xxxxxxxxxxxx^^^^^^
xxxx^^^^^^xxxxxxxxx^^^^
^^^^xxxxxx^^^^xxxxxxxxx
____________xxxxx^^^^

Music:
Title Screen
Theme of Garam
Theme of Baron
World Map
Let the REAL Battle Begin
Theme of Thanatos
Grand Bridge (Yoshi Safari)

If we get an Advance Wars stage, I would love one from the final battle of AW2 that features the allies storming Sturm's fortress in the background and occasionally has COs bleed the fight over into the map itself.

As for returning stages, I really hope we get Delfino back. So much variety and yet it rarely killed you. Great stage.

I'd <3 this so hard, cz I've given up on a rep...
Also, has any talked about Tetris for a stage? I think it'd work so perfectly.

You could do some pretty fun stuff with an AW stage by working in some CO powers. Take one CO from each nation and have them occasionally affect the stage, like the Arwings on Corneria. Every X seconds on the stage, the background changes briefly to a CO Super Power activation (with music?) and one of the following effects happens:

Rachel - At intervals of a few seconds, three silo missile templates appear on the map and fire one after another.

Sensei - T-Copters drop infantry onto the stage, who fire at players for a few seconds like the Assist Trophy in Brawl.

Grit - Artillery units drive onto the stage and fire at players for a few seconds.

Jess - A squadron of tanks drives on and drives around firing at players.

Sturm - A massive meteor smashes into a section of the stage and explodes.

Three confirmed Zelda stages:

Skyloft (inspired by Project M's without a doubt)
Spirit Train
GERUDO VALLEY (around 0:47 in the video during the 3DS segment)

Trying not to over-speculate but does Toon Link in the Spirit Tracks stage mean that he's no longer playable, perhaps?

I was thinking this. Might Sakurai have finally decided to cut his dual-Link necessity in favor of a more diverse Zelda cast?
