Sakurai did acknowledge that nobody really asked or expected the Wii fit trainer though. That's a WTF inclusion in a nutshell.

If you're going to argue that then what's stopping us saying that R.O.B was just a normal newcomer in Sakurai's eyes?

Well, about this leak...
-7 Mario Characters, 7 Pokemon Slots, 2 Yoshi, 1 Kid Icarus, 2 Fire Emblem, 2 Punch Out and 2 Animal Crossing. Something about this leak seems very off to me. Why would it be so unbalanced for Smash standards?! Giving franchises that don't really deserve more slots, well, more slots?! Zelda has only 4 slots and so does DK- in terms of series importance Zelda is far higher on priority.

Sakurai has talked about the Ice Climbers and Captain falcon without mentioning if they're in the game exactly. Last time David Hayter (Solid Snake) leaked Jigglypuff so keep an eye on interviews.

Many interviews reference the characters. A winter interview references Captain Falcon and the Falcon Punch against some characters, and many interview referenced the possible issues Ice Climbers were having on 3DS and how it could possibly delay the 3DS version.
So yes, they were accidentally "leaked."

Also mind that one of the reasons that R.O.B is so WTF is because he was, well, a peripheral, used for only 2 games in the entire NES library. I don't think anything could ever top that. At least WFT was actually in a video game, but a casual one made to do something that you could go to your local gym for. Honestly, now that we've gotten these 2, what would really even qualify as a WTF character?

It seems like there isn't much left that will surprise us, but I have this gut feeling that Sakurai has this secret character saved in the back of his head, that none of us have even THOUGHT of. Just think of that. We think of almost every character. Now mot every character is likely, but we at least THINK of a character or have heard of the idea.
Sakurai has something that none of us have ever even considered or thought of. Whether he uses that I'm SSB4 or not, is beyond me.

I believe it was later said in a later interview that Sakurai had mostly solved this problem. Again, solidifies an obvious reveal and creates an accidental leak.

At this point, it's appearing like a "bias leak." Meaning of course the roster is heavily biased towards some franchises to the point that doesn't make any sense at all. It's a very un-Sakurai-esque action.

Agreed, if any series will get special attention... It will be his IPs like Kid Icarus and Kirby.

I'm more disappointed about the lack of a troll character (unless you count Birdo).
Though, this does sound like something that would fit on Miiverse.

Ice Climbers were basically confirmed when Rosalina & Luma were shown IMO, showing that they fixed it.

Well I'll just say this. SHOULD a Pokemon veteran be revealed for the anniversary, then a fair amount of leaks are gonna get rocked and socked around, since so many of them often revolve around Pokemon characters either getting cut or revamped or this or that.
