However, in my opinion, Peach was confirmed to celebrate the anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

Are you taking into account that Japan gets updated around 3-4 pm and that announcing her on thursday is basically announcing her for friday (since most of thursday is already gone by that hour).

Any reason why the GameFAQs PM "leak" is considered a possibility? It doesn't make ANY sense at all.

It was the Thursday as there was another update that week, so it was one day before the anniversary. Either way, Sakurai doesn't note it like he did with Lucario's update so that's within questionability.

I reckon we'll start to see a clearer image and text leaks worth deciphering / analysing a few months from the release date, but that isn't even clear at this time. Hopefully, we'll at least get a better time frame at the next Direct, or E3; I am confident that the puzzle will begin to make sense by E3, and that the real goodies will follow after that.

At least WFT was actually in a video game, but a casual one made to do something that you could go to your local gym for. Sakurai did acknowledge that nobody really asked or expected the Wii fit trainer though. That's a WTF inclusion in a nutshell.

Also mind that one of the reasons that R.O.B is so WTF is because he was, well, a peripheral, used for only 2 games in the entire NES library. I don't think anything could ever top that. Same here. I think it could most likely go one of two ways: characters that people would love but dont really expect (Wonder Red, Bayonetta, Ray101, Geno, Travis Touchdown) or a character few ask for but would be awesome (Aeron, Zael, Poo, Tempo, Sakura Samurai, Dillon, or a character from Elite BEat Agents or Dynamic Slash, or that dude from Disaster: Day of Crisis). There are just sooo many ways for Sakurai to throw all our speculation off.
