Bayonetta doesn't like everyone and everything...with one exception being bats, a side effect of having the Bat Within ability, and she has a real soft spot for bat pups (including bat Pokemon pups, she even visits the Crobat line maternity colonies in the upper attic of the Smash Mansion very often to see the mother Golbat and Crobat with their Zubat pups).

In the basement of the mansion, there's a tavern and an inn next door where the assist trophies hang out, until they're called upon, which then they step on a teleporter. The tavern is managed by Waluigi, as the leader of the assist trophies, and there is a framed picture of Little Mac on the wall. Contrary to popular belief, most of the ATs enjoy not being full-on fighters, even Waluigi (Despite himself constantly nagging Master Hand).

and the Koopalings have formed a band, aptly named Bowser Jr. And The Koopalings. Are all huge fans, but the older crowd doesn’t seem to really care for their music, with the exception of , who supports his son’s pursuits all the way as long as his son doesn’t hurt himself.

has a tendency to make Dad Jokes, and often expresses embarassment, but has been known to secretly laugh at them on occasion.

can be said to be from Melee, along with keeping his memories from Majora's Mask outright. Knows about lineage of Links because he's also gained memories of Hero's Shade.

Some say he's grown a sarcastic and precocious streak to him, and doesn't entirely find himself hanging out with other kids due how he's grown older mentally a bit too fast (OOT as Adult Link + Majora's Mask-events). But he tries anyway.

(Also a bit of a narcisst, because had that taunt where he brushes his hair out.)


ended up being a random Pichu that got dragged to Smash out of nowhere, and is really reluctant to fight in the whole place. Some Inklings seem to be same, particularly the cyan one with glasses.

is from another dimension where Luigi got sick and Mario attempted to save him via medicine he made personally. Sadly it didn't make it through, and Mario of that dimension became more hardened as a result. Not exactly talkative and tends to have hard time speaking with Luigi or even Mario, for that matter.

knows as from Melee-days, and looks after him a good ton. joins on the same lane now and then due same familiarity.

• the reason all came back in 4 after an absence in Brawl was because they founded their own Smash Promotion after being fired by Master Hand several years prior. He saw them on TV one day forming an nWo-like faction and quickly bought their promotion out.

Continuing on my ATs/FS and/or victory screen cameo characters headcanon - those guys also take up mundane but necessary jobs in Smash City, such as firefighters, police officers, cashiers and movie theater ushers.

The Smashers are often either unemployed or take freelance jobs like blogging, DJing, or streaming. Their main sources of income comes from their sponsorships when they fight in tournaments.

Some of the Smashers are members of their own clubs for special interests, and some memberships overlap:

The Child Smashers recently discovered an old TV western starring the grandfather of Lara Laramie, a friend of Pikachu and Greninja's owner Ash Ketchum. The child Smashers asked Ash why he didn't share with anyone that he knew the granddaughter of a Western actor, Ash had no idea of the family connection. The series, Law of the West, aired on Kanto TV from 1959-68.

Ness has more control over his PSI abilities, but Lucas has more raw potential.

Also, while Mewtwo doesn't care for humans, it has formed something of a friendship with Lucas thanks in part to Lucas being able to talk to animals, Pokemon included (he can do that, right?).

Roy is actually from a few years after Binding Blade and stayed out of Brawl to deal with issues at home (possibly the death of his father). Barring some emergency, his wife may instead have convinced him to come back, albeit late.

Lucina was not sure she would be invited back, and Male Robin even went as far as to say he would not come back himself without her and that Female Robin could take over the main position. Fortunately, that was not necessary.

Male and Female Robin act like siblings. Female Robin and Lucina do not really get along, but they each realize the other is important to Male Robin.

Female Robin and Ike actually have feelings for each other, but being from different worlds, they hesitate to pursue those feelings.

The characters get transported across the multiverse to meet and fight. Oh and despite other people's headcanons about Pichu evolving into Pikachu, my headcanon is that Pichu never did evolve, and Pikachu has always been the same character throughout the Smash games. Snake's codec calls all happened before the Subspace Emissary and Snake had obviously fought on the Halberd stage before fighting Meta Knight on Shadow Moses Island. Ultimate will have a story mode with voice acting. Daisy's shorts will be an alternate costume. Tails, Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Simon Belmont, Heihachi, Shantae and Goku will be revealed as playable characters. Krystal would be a playable character despite already seen as an Assist Trophy. Shadow's still an assist trophy. Echo Fighters don't exist. Waluigi will never be playable. James Bond was too busy with his missions to get into Melee. Pokémon is based more on the anime.

R.O.B. gets partially reprogrammed by Professor Hecctor so that his Dthrow buries opponents. Thanks to R.O.B.'s new programming making him so fearsome, Ganondorf fears retaliation for destroying R.O.B. Island and therefore hides underground, ironically.

So my basic headcanon is that Smash Bros is an occasional event that has many gaming universes battling it out in a neutral area (Battlefield / FD) with visits to various worlds for certain battles/competitions. It's taken very seriously so characters like Ganondorf and Mewtwo partake with intent to win.

I'll probably update this with all the newcomers when they're revealed, but for now...

- Was invited by the admission committee (prob Mario, Link, Fox, and Samus) after careful consideration. Is being treated like "the new kid" who has just stepped into a world they could have never imaged.
- Has had Peach begging Mario to let her in for years. Mario has finally given in and is letting Peach bring her best friend along to the event.
- Wasn't invited at all. Literally got so fed up that he was treated as a battle scenario rather than a competitor that he forced his way into the competition and no one has the balls to tell him no.

Ganondorf accuses Captain Falcon of copying him and Daisy tries hard to cheer up and befriend Dark Pit and Lucina.

Mega Man doesn’t “talk” due to the lack of a voice processor, so he communicates with the others with sign language. He can hear what others are saying and understand it, though.

I’ve been chewing on this ever since Ultimate was more fully shown off at E3 and people were screaming that it was a port of Smash 4. I think the bigger issue with that is the fact that the Wii U failed and so we got a bunch of those games ported to the Switch.

But the truth is that Ultimate does reuse quite a bit of Smash 4’s assets. Just like Smash 4 reused a quite a bit of Brawl’s assets in its release. In fact, from an aesthetic standpoint, despite their differences these 3 (4) games seem to have a style that makes them similar to each other yet distinct from 64 and Melee.

Intentionally or not, Sakurai has given us our own epic trilogy

(Before anyone says anything, yes I know technically there are four games. I equate the two Smash 4s to what the Hunger Games movies did with Mockingjay, so it’s still a trilogy)

In the 4 days, had been released due to Pokémon Trainer leaving, and had reverted to its wild nature and often lost control during fights, which is why Master Hand called back to recapture Charizard and train it to control its nature once again.

Smash is a world that's almost like a central "hub" of the entire Nintendo (and related third parties) universe. Its landscape defined and influenced by all of the existing Nintendo worlds, with its environments paved after the games and franchises it associates with (hence, the existence of stages that may not directly match their origin source).

Yes, the Smash characters all temporarily reside in a giant mansion-like building together in the center of the Smash universe. Their time as fighters earns them Smash coins that can be used for goodies and souvenirs in the local towns, or can be exchanged for money of their own currency to be brought back to develop their home worlds. Master Hand controls the fights, curfew, infrastructure, and even who will or won't become fighters in the next tournament.

While he will furiously deny it, has been seen with perched on his shoulders on more than one occasion.

and :ultrobinfrequently nerd out together over philosophy, science, strategy games, and technological marvels. can no longer hang out with them anywhere near the library anymore.

cried to herself every night for the first month as a newcomer and wondered how and were able to live with themselves, no matter how times she insisted workouts and dietary plans. She still refuses to eat anywhere near them.

Half of the conversations has nowadays revolve around why he hasn't asked out yet.

When selecting fighters for this upcoming tournament, it’s often ,,,,, or even himself that journey to the potential newcomers’ home worlds and conduct interviews.

is one of the few Smashers that has a full time job in addition to participating in tournaments. His practice has become so successful that he runs a fully operational hospital now. He is also not the same as , being instead a different Mario from another timeline who quit plumbing and princess-rescuing and decided to become a doctor. Reason behind this is, his timeline was one where he could not save in time and he received an injury that severely impacted his jumping ability, so he dedicates his time to helping people with physical ailments that can be easily treated.

Metal Mario is actually a sentient metallic substance that constantly lusts for more power. During the Smash 64 era, he decided to model his own physical body after 's as he thought him to be the strongest fighters of the Original 12. After his fight in Classic Mode, he was banished deeper into the depths of Meta Cavern and remains stuck there to this day.

works as a part time train conductor to help him fund his overseas voyages.

The from 64 and Melee met his demise during the 'Great Tyrant's Reign' of the Second Era. He later returns in Ultimate as a fully evolved Alolan Raichu and decides to take on the Pokeball role.

The from Melee evolved into the we see in Brawl, For, and Ultimate. The female in Ultimate is the Cosplay Pikachu from Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and Pokken Tournament. The two mated and is their offspring.

The from the previous games was accidentally killed and roasted by . He was later cloned in Ultimate, possessing the memories of the original Falco, and has a grudge against to this day.

Waluigi is often mocked by and for his Assist Trophy status.

Male and Female are called by their Japanese names whereas Male and Female are called by their English names.

is a huge fan of Smash Bros. machinima and fanfictions. (Just not the ones that ship him with other smashers or the lemons either.)

The mountainous areas seen in Smash For's reveal trailers and the desert backgrounds from Brawl and For's victory screens border the Smash World. These are the areas where most newcomers awaken. (There are some exceptions though as and had already been living the Smash World during the Third Era prior to becoming Smashers in the next era.)

I tend to HC that is likely one of if not the the only character(s) that remembers 's anniversary, which is on August 6th (Metroid will be 32 this year), and does his best to celebrate for her, give her gifts, and even ask centurions to help plan a party and cake for her, stuff like that that a great friend would do.

Because of franchise sibling ties to each other, I also HC that is one of the few characters outside of the KI universe that remembers 's anniversary, which is December 19th.

& sometimes go on treasure hunts together. Wario keeps trying to run off with them but Pikmin swarm him in retaliation when he does.

has heated arguments with whether their energy is called ki or aura, sometimes joins in his training sessions, reminds him of Ken, and would like to introduce the two, has discussions with over the meaning of the fight and wants to know he's always ready for a challenge.

Although is somewhat put off by 's sadism, they both like to compete over how much destruction they can cause.

& often join forces to fight off ghostly phenomenon.

& race a lot. Sometimes Falcon uses his car, but Sonic usually wins no matter what.

& have serious discussions over the meaning and responsibilities of godhood. sometimes pitches in his thoughts too.

Encounters between & are always tense, due to both of them having prices on their heads.

enjoys taunting & over their parent's deaths, noting a "look" he recognizes in Samus, is annoyed by mistaking him for Pokemon (but does nothing to dissuade that line of thought in order to more easily catch him off-guard), and frequently visits after brutal struggles with Samus.

& :ultrobin discuss strategies for keeping their kingdoms safe while teaching each other magic, though light magic is tough for Robin to use.
