Erm... idk. I just saw posts of a 'Mew2squad' and wondered what on earth was going on.
Everyone's trying to cork their anticipation by talking about silly things is my theory.

I understand your argument and see where you're coming from. For me it's just a matter of being comfortable (which any control scheme should be aimed for). I don't want to sound like this is a "Tap Jump On/Off" debate because we can both agree on playing with whichever layout works for the individual.
And then we have the C-stick.

I'm really glad no one's reading my post about M2's up smash, I guess I'll keep this a secret. huehuehuehuehue
Well, most kill moves are able to kill without rage, just at slightly higher percents.

Since they were at <100%, I'm assuming that either:
A) Mewtwo's up smash is extremely powerful.
B) The handicap was set at launch power 2.0.

Option B is also cool because Mewtwo's down throw didn't send them very far at all despite the launch power being so high, so it's clearly a really good combo throw.

Best to keep discussion on the main board anyway. Skype groups are double-edged swords.

On the topic of controls, I made the switch from tap jump to no tap jump in a few hours. When I get the 3DS, I figured that the C-Pad would break if I used it to much. So, I decided to turn off tap jump so it won't have as much usage. Making the switch is really easy... if you feel like tap jump is screwing you over, just dedicate a few hours to not using it and you're set. It feels really uncomfortable at first and you're gonna lose a lot, but after awhile it feels A LOT better than tap jump. I use Y to jump. Uptilting becomes easier, short hopping becomes easier, etc. Overall a very good choice that I made, and if anybody wants to make the switch I'd recommend it. I've been using tap jump for 9 years, and I made the switch to not using it in approximately 3 hours. Only real flaw I see is that when you play Melee/64 again it kinda screws you over... (spoken from experience)

Also, my control setup is basically the default one with minor changes. Turn off tap jump, and switch shield (r) with grab(l). So the only difference I have from the default is that I have shield on L and grab on R. I like it.

I've tried playing without tap jump...it feels wrong...
Then again, I never misinput a jump for a tilt, so...

Once I started using tilts more regularly I found tap jump to be one of the most annoying things to exist. My layout is the default GCN controls but with tap jump off. Works fine for me, haven't run into problems with grab interfering with my specials or jabs.

This! Except for the misinput part...if it's on, I derp.
That was the first thing I did when I got Smash 3DD/WiiU.. turned off that darn tap jump. It's too inaccurate. Do any experienced players actually like that feature on? I would assume no..

I just have tap jump off, shield on ZR and grab on R for my controller pro. That was the layout I got used to in Melee. I still need to get a gamecube controller..

Well I like having a clear cut top 5, no ties. I also have to decide between them anyways for a project.
You said you'd like to see reasons to choose one over the other, yes? I would suggest posing this conundrum to the Lucario forums and the Greninja forums. They could give you a better answer than I could. I only main Lucario because he was the character I liked the best out of the few I recognized when I first began playing Smash Bros.

Honestly, I think Tap Jump is actually useful for me. It's more convenient and I don't use U-tilts often enough to where it's a nuisance. Especially when playing an aerial juggler like Ness, Tap Jump just is better for me. With that said, I still use the X button often for jumping, it's just that I don't think I really need to wean off Tap Jump, nor do I want to.

But what would I know, I'm just a skrub. :p

(Although, I can kind of see why so many people hate it. I mean, have you tried to up tilt with it? But I don't even use up tilts much, so that's none of my business.:seuss:)

I used to play with tap jump, but i slowly realised it's beter fo choose when you want to do a second jump instead of doing it when you want to up air. With (Dr) Marios fast and strong uptilt and upair I really can't turn tap jump on.

Really? For me the opposite is true. I HAVE to do a second jump to do my up air, especially playing as Ness. It's the only way that feels comfortable. This is another reason I keep Tap Jump on.

I know I should be patient and it drops in 6 days, but honestly the wait for Mewtwo is killing me right now.

Considering the subforum I'm currently in, I can assume most of you feel the same way too.

this is my list of DLC characters i want (just wanted to post it here cause it has Mewtwo in it)
It's only missing "Shovel Knight Digs In!"

I do think they are probably the most likely characters to be chosen and I look forward to them. But there is still the elephant in the room (actually a space dragon) Ridley, who I suspect will be at least in the top 3 characters of the ballot. :p

Anyone down for some Mewtwo 1v1's at release around midnight PDT? I'll be home around then and I much prefer studying a character through battle than charting a bunch of numbers off in training right at the start.
