Oh with all the flirting I just assumed. Well carry on ;)
Seriously, though, I am a guy. I was just doing a little roleplaying for the sake of a good time. I imagine my anime GIF reinforced your idea, too, but whatever. S'all good now:).

Goku seems popular in some circles.. I'd rather do Goku than Roy.. but if I were to choose.. Bayonetta!
I'm not a Roy main, but he deserves to return alongside Dr Mario and Mewtwo, it'll be the just about the whole gang back together again.

I believe I've said this before, but my ballot vote went to Wonder-Red. He'd just be so awesome to see in Smash!
However, I think it's fairly obvious that Ridley is going to win the ballot by metric craploads. He's got major support in most, if not all, regions, and he's one of the most requested characters in the history of Smash. The only person I can see even approaching Ridley would be Wolf, but I doubt even the likes of him can compete with Ridley's sheer scale of support. I'll be interested as to what Sakurai has to say about Ridley if he wins the ballot. I expect that he'll come up with another excuse, but you never know...

Now that our Mewtwo is in I don't know who to vote for on the ballot.. I feel it should be King K. Rool or Banjo. Because like them we have nostalgia with Mewtwo. These Characters made the 90's golden. If not them it would have to be Wolf or Ninten!

I dunno man, I'm seeing K. Rool everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins the ballot. Are people even going to vote for Ridley now that Sakurai has said why he didn't include him?

I am seeing less support for Ridley now then I did before personally.

I dunno, man. I feel as though 6 Pokémon reps fit in perfect with the "6 Pokémon max" in the game.

Plus, we already have, like, 4 Kanto reps. We need some Johto, Hoenn, and Unova love :(
I know that Ivysaur is a longshot. I know that she really doesn't need to be in the game. I know that there's already a ton of Pokemon reps. There's really almost nothing that supports her getting in. Even so, man... I wanna see Ivysaur in the game even when I know it's probably not gonna happen... I mean, I thought that way for Lucina and Mewtwo too, but in the end they got in so I can at least have a little hope... right?

My thoughts on the Veterans:
Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Pichu shouldn't come back, as I feel we've got the right amount of Pokemon as is.
Snake is likely gone due to 3rd party issues, and Kojima leaving Konami made it almost impossible for Snake to return.
Young Link has pretty much been replaced by Toon Link...plus we don't want Link taking up half of the Zelda characters.
Ice Climbers would likely be added for free if they fixed the issues with them, otherwise they're gone for good.
Wolf is the most likely choice for the next returning vet and makes the most sense to return. Ballot winner or no, he will most likely make it in.
Roy seems outdated, but he's a fan favorite that deserves a second chance...as long as he's changed a little bit from the "Marth clone" thing.

The thing about Roy is that his neutral B alone would differentiate him from Lucina and Marth.
Remember the old Neutral B? How it would come from above and slam downwards? They could keep that!

As much as people want Roy back, I see him as being the worst option of the trio (Marth, Roy, Lucina)

Marth has tippers, making his main advantage spacing the opponent with his sword. Lucina works the same way, but with base damage.

Since Roy (in Melee) does most damage at the hilt, he has to get in extremely close to an opponent to get decent knock back. Ruining the main point of longsword characters (though in this game "longsword" is more of a "letter opener")

Idk guys, I'm down for Roy but I'd rather see a total newcomer first with a whole new moveset. Roy would just be another swordsman. Nostalgia is awesome and everything but think of the possibilities!

We don't know what kind of changes he'd receive however. Also, think of how his outfit will change up.

My ballot vote went to banjo thanks to what Phil Spencer said.

I don't think Ridley will actually come out first on the ballot. I've seen many supporters not voting for him because they see it as unlikely with him allready being a stage boss.

Oh, I hadn't thought about K. Rool. I take back what I said about Wolf. K. Rool will probably wind up beating everyone, sans Ridley. I mean, yes K. Rool is extremely popular, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was a close second on the ballot, but I just don't think that K. Rool can match Ridley. He has a massive following, yes, but Ridley's is so large that I just can't see K. Rool beating him.
Also, from what understand, several Ridley supporters are still going to vote for him. Some are doing it out of desperation in the hopes that, if Ridley wins, Nintendo will tell Sakurai to cut the crap and put Ridley in as a playable character, while others are doing it just to test Sakurai. This second group is voting for Ridley not necessarily because he's their most wanted, but because they want to see what Sakurai will do if Ridley takes the ballot by a landslide. They way they see it, Ridley winning will be like putting a gun to Sakurai's head: If he adds Ridley, then it shows that he really does care about the fans and wants to please them, but if he doesn't, then it shows that he's a self-centered, egotistical jerk who adds characters as he sees fit instead of listening to his fans.
Now, I completely disagree with the the latter group's thinking. I feel like it's a little mean-spirited, and it's outlook on Sakurai is way too black-and-white for me. The former group's thinking I actually understand, and I can actually see Nintendo stepping in and making Sakurai add Ridley if he wins the ballot by a large enough margin.
As for the decline in Ridley supporters, I'm pretty sure that's just here, since there's not really a place devoted to discussing Ridley. I'm pretty sure it's actually against the rules now, what with Ridley being a stage boss and everything. But I can assure you that Ridley fans are alive and well elsewhere. GameFAQs is a good place to start if you're looking for Ridley fans. Fair warning, though: GameFAQs has lots of Ridley supporters, but it's also got a lot of anti-Ridley users, so making a post about Ridley is pretty much setting off a time bomb with an invisible clock.

If we're talking swordsmen, we need a new rep from an unrepresented series. A mystic swordsman.
We need Isaac.

I voted for Krystal, Wolf, and Kumatora. Kumatora has less of a likely chance of making it since Lucas is back but you never know. Higher chance than Ridley since well... he's a freaking stage boss and Sakurai did give his opinion on the whole thing. I honestly think he's fine as a stage boss but thats just what I think. I would be fine with just about any Metroid rep, maybe Sylux? he was cool.

I want to post my opinions on the veterans so badly right now, but it's close to midnight where I'm from, and I'm beat, so I'll just do it in 6-8 hours. See you all later...
