Toasty- Epic matches as always. I love our matches while my heart hates em. I'm sorry I knocked you out of the money, but hey, you knocked my team out of the money so i guess we are even=]

Mashi- We Have to team from now on. We have to show em how Team F.U.N.D.A does!

Whodat?- Ugh, good matches, just a quite unfortunite mishap. It's all good, sorry for getting worked up, things just weren't going my way at that point in the night. Good matches Non the Less, and Luigi's Mansion FTL =[

Serpent- Good Matches. Nice Team Friendlies too! =]

Slash- No single friendlies? =[ weren't too many friendlies going on but still. Sorry for the teams tourny match though. Only reason we won is because somehow you guys slipped up once, and one of us took advantage. Good Matches though

Dobee- Ganon FTW! haha keep up with your ganon man. and then soon all those things i was telling those kids will come true!

O-NO- Good **** on hosting a great tourny! Ill Be sure to Bring a Full Brawl Set-up and a GC for Melee to make things run more smoothly. Great matches in Puzzle Fighter too, i love that game and rarely find people that actually play. More matches soon!

Lozr- Beat me twice in the tourny. =[ On the way home i was thinking to myself, ****it, i need to figure out how to play better against Wario and.............****IT. Good **** though, and next time we run into each other, More Melee Friendlies. Only got one with you in, and it was your first match of the night so i dont really count it.

Kadaj- Good **** on winning singles and doubles. I plan on coming for you next tourny =]. Didn't get to play you, but i think they would be nothing less than epic.

Malco- Didn't play with or against you all night. WTF is that haha.

Whoever took the PS3, go off yourself =[. Trying to **** something that good up is ****ing idiotic.

That's extremely unfortunate about the PS3. The people at Hiscore are such nice people. I'd be willing to donate at least a little bit to get them to replace the PS3.

Anyone else I played with in singles or teams, good stuff. That was a lot of fun, though I was extremely tired by the end. Hiscore is definitely an epic venue. I didn't get any money matches in. People need to bring setups more for non-tourney stuff, and to move tourneys along.

I was just at Hi Score a couple hours ago to pick up my component cables...turns out the PS3 disappeared AFTER the venue reset all their **** on the right side of the venue...so, some time during Teams Finals on the big screen...someone walked out with a PS3. Did anyone happen to notice someone shady or unknown walking around during that time?

they also said that they will no longer host that kind of event unless we bring ALL of our own **** and use none of theirs. I don't recall if they said the back areas will be shut down and off limits...but they said that they will simply set up a bunch of tables for us to use.

They're not even going to replace the PS3, they're just going to get arcade pads [meaning the big solid metal framed one] for DDR...so, that's cool. but ****.

We still have room to negotiate. They're getting a surveillance system installed with visible and hidden cameras. But this was the second time they had anything stolen [first it was an XBOX 360 Hard Drive...and now...........A WHOLE SYSTEM?!?!?!?!!].

The upside is that they LOVED the lock-in and they made a crap ton of money from it. It [including some birthday parties] was their most profitable day...first time they broke $1000. and then. they lose a $600 system.

It's a **** shame.

Toasty - IT'S MARVAL BAYBEE!!!! Going Ryu-Ken-Iron Man(WTF?!) in the MVC2 tourney....uh, what? Nice seeing you again even if we missed the chance to even out the score from C3. Freaking legend for recording matches, and whenever you find the time think you could upload my match with LoZR?

O-NO - I have to say some things to. First and foremost, many thanks for the ride back to NN. I was going to spend the day at your place but I just couldn't do it, I had gone an entire day without pain medicine and just couldn't. Secondly, the venue was awesome, great find. Good **** in 3S, what with my severely out of practice Ryu and all.

This lock-in was also interesting for having Brawl and Melee being played side by side...opened my eyes on the rift that exists between the two.

Oh well, hoping to go tot he next one. We should be dragging along DragonCharlz that time as well.

Revival of Cenacle Tourney

This time, it will probably be held in the larger building in which the last one was originally planned to be.

Feedback requested on date preferences. 28th is preferred, but I can possibly do 27th or 29th.

Venue would probably be $10 again, and the prize would *probably* be some sort of gift card (Best Buy or Gamestop).

The reason I probably won't be giving out cash is because it's technically illegal, and I'd like to stay under the radar until I feel more comfortable. Nevertheless, I will rent the place out for virtually the whole day, so yall can come early and stay until around 11, if you so wish.

Again, feedback is requested.

Unless I get really good feedback beforehand (like in the next few days), I won't be able to guarantee a certain amount until the Monday before the tournament. I can project around $100-$150 (I know, it's pretty ambiguous).

Good point about venue. Tourney fee will be $10, and venue fee will be $5.

The event will mainly be melee. I.E. the *official* tourney will be Melee. However, if you all wish, I will host another Brawl tourney for an additional $10 tourney fee.

Teams and Singles will both be held [on both games if both happen].

Actually, I just got the idea that I might just go out and buy an American Express gift card. They're universal as long as the place you go to takes AmEx.

Since the place is right around the corner from my house and from a Walgreens, I can just purchase the gift card(s) before the event is over.

Appeal from Hi Score for Stolen PS3

This message is from Susan and Linda, co-owners of Hi Score. We feel very lucky to have met O-No and Toasty and we were happy to work with them to provide a Brawl / Melee Tournament venue for all of you last Saturday. The Lock-In itself was great - O-No was his usual gracious self, the tournaments were run fairly and as quickly as possible under the circumstances, and everyone seemed to have fun. It was also educational for those of us who were able to make it. But the whole adventure became a huge disappointment when it was discovered that someone from who participated in this Lock-In broke our trust and took one of our PS3's, which you all know was a substantial investment for us. Starting up a new business and keeping it running for the first few years is always a struggle, and struggle we have, but one thing we did not budget in was loss through theft by the very people we were trying to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for. To say that we are disappointed is an understatement. We will now be forced to add extra security measures at no small cost to us and with an inconvenience to all of you who will be asked to stay until all the equipment is accounted for, should we try this again (which we hope to do).

And so I am making an appeal to the person who took the PS3 to return it - no questions asked, no phone calls made to the authorities. You can mail it in, send someone in to drop it by, or you can give it to the kind folks at the Ham Shop next door who will gladly hold it for us if you are reluctant to return it directly. Please help restore our faith in the gaming community and do the right thing. I know it's what O-No and Toasty want as well and I'm sure that many others of this community would like to see things made right as well. And if any of you know or suspect who might have been the likely suspect, please urge them to return our equipment without fear of anything but our thanks and restored faith.

"People" dont steal in the SoVA scene. some random a$$hole did. i havent lost trust in the scene, i just know that we need to be a bit more careful when introducing new people to the scene. we all know each other pretty well. its been a long time since this thread has been up and we all started playing. but now that brawl is out and new players are hitting the scene, we need to remind ourselves that the are still new, and may not be used to the way we do things in soVA.

too good dude...and yeah, I would love to help host again. I'll have to come a loooot earlier [was on a date with the girlfriend before the lock-in... BARDO BENTO BOX, SON!] to help set up the systems/TVs/seats etc, and so I can get a good setup on recording AND running TIO on my laptop to share the burden (like, Riku/whoever runs singles, I run doubles or however you wanna run it).

Actually, what I WILL do is what I did at Gusto's (with the help of Billy, who is SoVa's secret savior...though many of you don't even know it/appreciate it that hotel party was tooo amazing, despite the TV squanders at first...until Slash figured it out and Billy bought the universal remoteS)
...sorry for digressing. anyway. What I'm going to do is make the registration slips so people can pay EVERYTHING (venue, all tournaments) at one time and sign up for everything at the same time. And then they're free to play friendlies while **** gets set up.

Though I will need an assistant to help out with this part. I'll also need a decent bank of change.
I'll bring labels and pens etc so people don't have to worry about anything.

If anyone has Wii component cables, those things work BEEAUTIFULLY on Hi Score's TVs (If we're able to use them). Wow. No lag, whatsoever, and they're just beautiful TVs ^_^

I think Serpent and I are the only ones, though >_>

anyway..Otis, when are you free to get together with the Hi Score people so we can brainstorm ASAP and set a date for the next one?
