It's not so bad.

I didn't see you the rest of the tournament or else I still would've done it, lol. Wasn't about to do it mid-bracket.

:093:
No, I'm just saying I don't realy watch anime, nor do I want a waifu.

I'm in a group with a few other people.
I guess I could tag them...

"There’s something very special about this art but it’s not actually anything hidden inside of it
though we hid details on the next Sonic game on the inside of the pumpkin but since you can’t actually see that
we’ll give you a hint as to what makes this sweet piece even cooler than normal
it’s not about what you see…it’s about who created it!
chalk this away in your memory – because someday we’re going to come back to it"

I think that was a trend starting with Sm4sh and i think Sonic Boom. Correct me if i'm wrong but even Sonic Runners has sonic's fur just slightly lighter than what we saw in generations. If only a little

I mange to find Sonic and the Black Knight today.

If anyone cares.

Now that you mention it there is a slightly brighter glow on his skin. But that's probably what he looks like on the wii u and the like.
Nah, even in Lost World and Boom it still a pretty dark blue. It definitely is lighter, tho not nearly as light as say Classic Sonic. I think

It's honestly so much fun to run around at supersonic speed swinging a sword around mindlessly. Worth.

In memory of Sonic's old voice.

:U
Looking back on it I'm just realizing how close Sonic was to his Brawl counterpart in terms of moves. Even his Uair had the same animation. Kinda wish they kept that, the way it is now doesn't make sense to me. Like, his body just twists and his feet snaps together. I don't understand how that works as an attack lol.

Oh yeah. Somebody should explain why/how this happened to me. "Even without wings I can still fly!" my ass, Sonic. Invisible walls or something.

Oh yeah, I didn't realize that was his old animation.

I know the trailer uses the old, slow hop Side-B too.

I prefer both the new Uair and Side-B.

I can't even tell what's going on with 4 players and the giant explosions and this hurts my eyes.

Can't stand bigger modes? Teams is where its at for me. For the most part anyway. Guess I won't really be able to make it as a good player since 1 on 1 doesn't keep me too engaged unless I'm watching it. Oh well. As Sonic says when getting a C rank in unleashed "Eh. Can't win em all."

Also I love the new SideB as well. I was just saying that the animation for his Uair looks a bit weird to me, how he executes it and all. Gameplay wise? Naturally I prefer everything Sonic has to offer in Smash4 over Brawl. Though I do wish they kept his original down smash :'(

It looks like momentum was all ****ed up for some reason, no idea how or why
Curse you Ganon. You and your anti-gravity boots. It's funny though, all this weird stuff happens to me when I try to let loose and have fun in free for all lol.

I think I know what happened: your DI moved underneath the stage and the up b hit the bottom of the stage. Not sure why it's so far away, though.

Boy oh boy is the rumor mill spinning! I don't believe a word of it myself, but I think it's too amusing to not share.

Here's the TL;DR version. Someone on 4chan who claims to be a former Sega employee spun a tale of two games to be released for the 25th anniversary. One is Sonic Adventure 3, the other is a new game called "Sonic Genesis: the Origin of Chaos." He posted a picture of his supposed ID card, and people figured out pretty quick that it was photoshopped.

The full story is in the spoiler box, including the ID picture.

sup, /v/

Just quit my job as a QA drone at Sega, and was none to pleased with how they treated me. Therefore, have some Sonic 25th Anniversary spoilers.

Sonic Team had been putting together 2 games for the 25th anni, one of them is a full-3D game made by the sub-division that made Sonic Generations, and the other one is a 2D sidescroller made by the sub-division that made Sonic Colors and Lost World. The 3D one is officially titled "Sonic Adventure 3", and plays kind of how the other two did. Yeah, they've been aware that a small bit of the Sonic fanbase wanted Sonic Adventure 3, so they made it. Unfortunately, those games aren't all that great. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a big fan of Sonic and played the games a lot as a kid, which is why it was hard to quit this job, but you gotta do what you gotta do, I guess.

SA3 plays closer to the first one, where you can pick 6 characters with their own stories. The characters this go round are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver and Sticks. (you read that right) Sonic's gameplay is pretty much copypasta from SA2, with lots of speed boosters, rails and half-pipes to spindash through. It's actually pretty fun. Tails plays like a mix between his SA1 gameplay where he's similar to Sonic but can fly, but he also has some yellow handgun that looks like that tablet he carries around. He targets enemies like in SA2 when he was in that blue mech shooter, only with the mobility of SA1. Also pretty fun.

Knuckles is treasure hunting, but they fixed the issue in SA2 where you could only target one emerald at a time. The hint system is based off of Omochao pointing out the general direction of the emerald. Shadow's is probably the most fun, playing kind of like Jet Set Radio with a spin attack. Shadow can grind on rails, shred against walls with his skates and charge into enemies. He can't spindash though, probably as a way to make him less similar to Sonic. Silver is basically a faster version of himself from Sonic 2006, but with a spin jump. He is probably the slowest character, and least fun. Finally, Sticks. Sticks is kind of weird, but fun. She uses a bunch of wooden gadgets to platform, one of them is a grappling hook to swing across platforms, she has a scraggly looking helecopter to give her a slow descent, and she has that boomerang that targets more than one enemy at a time. She can do the spin-jump too, though I never found it to be useful.

The big thing that fans are going to love is the Chao Garden returning. It's pretty much the same as in SA2, but you can actually take your Chao with you as buddies, kind of like in Sonic Runners. They're not that useful, but it's kind of fun to see them do random things like glowing when there's a secret path nearby, or pointing out the red rings. Some of them store an extra ring or item to throw at you when you press a button. It depends on their type. It's kind of complex so I don't remember all of the details.

The story isn't anything I know much about - I was only allowed to playtest the game itself, so I can't really spoil it. The only thing I DO know, is that it involves something about Dr Robotnik's alter-ego coming back from another dimension. That's literally all I know about it. A co-worker told me it ties into Sonic Rivals, but I never played that one.

So the game when I left it was alright, but there were still some camera glitches and a lot of confusion with the homing attack's targeting system. The other weird thing was a tree that was misplaced on the top of a roof on the main city level. There was this one boss, a blue water robot that resembled Chaos from SA1, that I kept flying through, the hit only registered half the time. It was annoying, and my co-workers and I kept bringing this up to management, and they said that the team was working on it and it'd be patched in the next build. They told us this each time a new update to the game was sent to us to test, so I'm not sure how "polished" this game will be. At the least, I like it better than Sonic Lost World, so who knows.

And lastly, the 2D game... I never got to try out. But I know that the name of it is "Sonic Genesis: The Origin of Chaos." From what I know, only Sonic is playable, and the plot has something to do with going back in time to when the Chaos Emeralds were first created. Robotnik goes back in time to try to steal them when they're at their most powerful or something. It's an homage to the first game, and the screenshots I saw show a primitive looking Green Hill Zone, and a sort of weird futuristic casino level. That's all I know.

Happy 25th, Sanic. Stop sucking, please.

This leak was actually pulled by a user on Sonic Stadium forums named Indigo Rush. Honestly, it looked pretty believable to me, though the name of the handheld title and the SEGA card made me a bit suspicious.

You can see him admit to it in this thread and on the page before the one I linked.

As bull**** as that is, the hilarious thing is that after someone told me a rumor was going around of there being two new Sonic titles for the anniversary, I immediately imagined a Sonic Adventure-esque title alongside a Classic Sonic game as another fan service blast.

Sounds pretty cool, and difficult to deconfirm. My best guess is that since he no longer works for Sega I don't think he had to censor his picture. Otherwise, send this to Alax. I say Alax and not Etika because 1. He'll probably make a video about it eventually. 2. Alax is the master of debunking. 3. Alax is a huge Sonic fan.

Buy Black Knight Cam. It's honestly not that bad if you like being an invincible ball of blue and swords. :applejack:

I mean, maybe.
As long as we get a HD chao garden on PS4 I dont care what game it is

:093:
I still don't get why Chao Garden hasn't returned. They could even make it a cellphone app for god's sake and it would sell.

I've really wanted an HD Chao Garden for a long time. The Wisps could be a good replacement for the Chaos Drives and can be used to give a Chao highlights of the respective color. Maybe giving copious amounts of animals/Wisps could translate into the Karate minigame with special abilities like cyan laser beams (read: kamehameha), yellow pile drivers, orange uppercuts, blue body slams, purple frenzy...on second though, this last idea might be too violent.

An HD Chao Garden would be cool. But how about a full on portable one on the 3DS? The only portable Chao Garden is the Tiny Chao Garden that was in the first two Sonic Advance games. But now the technology is there to bring a full-fledged or even outright upgraded chao garden to the 3DS. Imagine combining the chao system from SA2 with the ability to walk around in first person and also interact with your chao ala Pokemon Amie in X & Y. It'd be perfect.

Of course the best thing would be to have both and have them wirelessly transferable for the best of both worlds. But I could see a new portable Chao Garden would sell like hotcakes not just to the Sonic Adventure fans but possibly alot of the casual fans who enjoy Nintendogs and/or other Pet simulators.

Secret Rings was poop, but if you got rid of all the terrible parts of it, you get Black Knight.

Technically there's a Chao Garden in Sonic Chronicles that's cool in concept (Chao that can be used as power up depending on how they look), but it's interactivity is nonexistent. Too bad it can't be improved upon with Bioware's record of improving sequels, darn Ken Penders.

I'm pretty sure you can get it for $10-20 or maybe even less if used.

That would've been cute if we did a Sonic Boards Secret Santa...
