Y'know, I've always wondered: Is the Haunter sprite a custom one, or is it ripped straight from one of the series' games?
Because although it seems similar to some gen 1 sprites, the design and coloration don't quite click with me for which game it is (or might be) from. For some silly reason it really bugs me.
Asking as a guy who's clocked way too many hours into the Pokemon series.

After looking around a bit, it seems the sprites available in chat appear to be custom edited.
So they are very close to some of the sprites from the main series, but don't appear to be ripped straight out.
Makes a bit more sense why it bugs me then. Its like the "uncanny valley" concept; the sprites are similar, but feel off.

If they're similar to any game, it'd be fire red, but they're still waaaay off. Trust me I've maxed out several games timers I'm quite familiar. Hella ugly too

I've been away Pokemon for a while now since the 2016 comp scene had me frustrated, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who maxes Pokemon game timers.

Assuming this is either A: a port, or B: Sonic returns, I still doubt we'll get anything significant. The character balance in Sm4sh right now is mostly solid and unless any big gameplay changes are made, I don't see any reason to mess with the majority of the cast, Sonic included.
If it IS a port of sorts, the only rebalancing we're likely to see is for characters on the extremes of the Top and Bottom tiers with maybe a select few in-between.
Unless the inklings become a hard counter for Sonic, I'll place my bets on Sonic being fine.
In other words: Please don't touch Sonic Sakurai.

It was a good ride. Man I remember when I was 13 and an idiot, I made an account just to post here because 1.0.8 had just dropped, and I found the FAF of dair was earlier now. I got an infraction from cam for double posting lmao. Good times.
