something very strange...

i was playing a marth who broke my sheild with a shield breaker.
i did the usual shield-break animation and shot up into the air for a second, but when i hit the ground i did something that looked like a tech. i didn't roll or anything, but i was fine as soon as i touched the ground
this happened awhile ago and it was too long a match to save the replay >_>
i don't remember who i was either.
i KNOW you can't tech out of a broken sheild, but i have no idea what happened

has anyone seen anything similar to this?

Secondly, that does seem rather odd. My guess though is you were probably near an edge or something and somehow it canceled out the shieldbreak...? But that doesn't sound right since I remember testing with shield-breaker a long time ago and a broken shield means you can't grab edges(which is why if I break someone's shield near the edge I can jump AT you without hitting you and move you slightly over the edge for the kill ^_^(totally useless but I've pulled it off twice)

Anywho, interesting, I'll fool around with it a bit? There's probably some missing detail in this so I'll see if I can figure it out.

I've seen marth shield break a shield of someone who was standing on the very edge of the yoshi's island platform and it was tilted so that they were at the bottom edge, they flew up into the air, landed on the platform then fell off the side and were not stunned anymore. Did you fall off an edge after having it broken?

Well, it seems that the 'tech' was on a slanted slope.
I was wondering if this could stop the break because the momentum of the sliding off the edge could of nulled the break....

I don't know, but it is certainly interesting.
