Something that always annoyed me in Melee

Now, am I the only one who was annoyed by the team color idea in Melee?

Like if your red team with Mario and Luigi, Luigi will be wearing pink! I hope in Brawl you can be on the same team as your friends without being limited to 3 costume colors. It would be so much better that way. Who else thinks so? I know maybe they have the team colors so you dont get confused but they could add little hearts with a arrow pointing to your team members with the specific color team your on instead (Like they do in classic mode to show whos on your team) Green hearts for green team. etc.

Another thing I think should be removed is if there was more then 1 of the same character in the battle the other ones would be lighter or darker. They should take that out, again if its so theres no confusion they could just add 1P, 2P, CPU, over the characters heads.

So who else would like these things removed from Brawl?

I have a feeling if you can play online as a team, it'll be greatly advanced over what it was in Melee. It was tacked on in Melee, you couldn't even use it in a tournament. And although three team colors is really all you need, it'd be nice to have more options.

It'd be nice if they'd go as far to make it so you can make your username a team, give it a team name and two team colors, which would replace the two dominant colors on whoever you're playing. It'd add a lot of variety for playing online.

If my cousin and I want to use the Super Mario Bros. on the same team, then Mario should be red and Luigi green. Instead of colors, they should simply put brackets on the percentage meters at the bottom of the screen pairing up the 2-3 characters that are on a team. For example, if Link and Zelda are teaming up against Fox and Falco, then at the bottom the little character icons should have Link/Zelda in a bracket and Team StarFox in the other so you would know who's partner is who.

If players have Tags over there head then you can see where sheik goes when she up B's also colors are so distinct its like o hes red better not hit him rather than reading tiny letters

We aren't asking for too much; just some tweaks. It wouldn't be that hard for the people at Nintendo to add into the game.

For example, if Link and Zelda are teaming up against Fox and Falco, then at the bottom the little character icons should have Link/Zelda in a bracket and Team StarFox in the other so you would know who's partner is who.

Okay, then what if they're all the same character?
The logo of the character wouldn't change, it'd still be very confusing.
I think the Heart + V Arrow is a suggestion, much more simple and gives you a variety of colors to choose from, then stead of being limited to green, blue, and red.

That would definitely be fun and useful for teams.

The 1P, 2P, CPU, ect, can get really confusing if left on for a long time, especially when there are several of one character. And thats why they didn't do it in melee. Don't get me wrong, I won't be angry if this happens, just I prefer the old system with NO chance of causing me to get confused.

Yeah, I think that would work out good. I like the heart or symbol idea, and you would be able to pick your own costume for the character while still knowing who is on your team. Hopefully we'll get something, I'm sick of the Light/Dark combo if you're the same character.

If I had a team our name would be "Off Constantly" and we would never lose. Even if we did lose the other team would sound like idiots shouting, "We beat Off Constantly, We beat Off Constantly".

I think that you should be able to choose if you want to be light dark or normal.
or, better yet, have alternate colors for each team (ie: 3 reds, etc.)
that would take up a lot of memory though I'd reckon.
There are actually more pink characters than yellow ones though.

I like axi0n's suggestion of changing colors of the percentage icons at the bottom of the screen so that teammates share the same icon color. Maybe a simpler version of what I was suggesting.

Everyone would have to be a different color (I didn't like the darker/lighter thing much, either).

If we do that then noobs will forget who their partners are.

Then they could always look at the bottom of the screen to remind them.

tha't one of the main reasons that i always hated playing as teams, hopefully Sakurai will at least let people choose the costume color they want, because it really annoyed the **** out of me when I was in a green team with mario which i wasn't used to seeing

I want colors for white, yellow, purple, black, orange, etc. just loads of extra costumes for everyone, and teams, woot.
