Take it from someone who has heard more than her fair share of ballads in her life; the ones I've heard conveyed a lot of emotions with little words, you could almost feel like you were part of it when listening to them. This is the exact opposite; a lot of words that ultimately mean nothing.
And honestly, no offense but... I've never heard a songstrel have such an awful sense of rhythm. The lyrics either barely follow the beat or are completely off-track and it makes the entire thing uncomfortable to listen.

A change of pace could be welcome, but I suggest you listen to me when I say that you don't let it get even one step too close to getting out of hand. The people of Mewni like their songs light and fluffy. Our people have been that way since the beginning, and they aren't exactly interested in hearing about us, so much as a sweet little tune, something calm and quiet, something that they take as a simple sign that the kingdom is in the good hands...Do you believe you can you manage that?
