...First of all, I appreciate that you're willing to see dark magic...and frankly myself, as something other than just possibly evil. Second and more importantly, however...I can't be fully certain of it due to the original spell book being destroyed in a fire a few decades prior, but your suspicions very well might correct. You might very well be the first ever princess, or perhaps mage in all of Mewni's recorded history to ever accomplish such a spell!

That explains the sheer differences between several evolutions...Honestly a pretty neat concept. Certainly allows for a lot of variety and different strategies and playstyles, more so since IIRC, Digimon can also return to previous forms if need be.
