See, it has these special enzymes-". He doesn't get to finish that s entence before Hop Pop laughs hearing the word "enzymes", then adds that "Ol Hopediah's not falling for no scam!"-

The least we can do is give you the time to fix it" and, "We're sorry, Hop Pop... " respectively, all in apologetic tones...Before Polly bluntly adds "This is yours, by the way" while they give him the ticket they received for recklessly driving Bessie. Hop Pop understandably makes a point to say thanks for the apology, not the ticket-

Shortly after that, the effects of it wear off, and Anne, Sprig and Polly return to normal and are extremely confused. The brainwashing effect is made even more apparent as Sprig describes feeling like he was a prisoner in his own body, while Polly is furious, having tons of built up anger that she doesn't know what to do with since she doesn't know who made her mad. Of course, Anne then suggests that they play another game of Tongue Tag to shake their anger off, which Sprig and Polly eagerly agree to. Polly even outright suggests that they play in Hop Pop's room because she likes the obstacles-
