Yep. Super Sentai's take on an adult-oriented season was 2012's Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger, which is a trio of weebs (a guy in his mid-thirties with a robot waifu, a cosplayer in her mid-twenties who gets a lot into character, and a high schooler who acts like the sane one but is a closet weeb) fighting corrupted corporate executives in an imaginary world that affects reality, and it's overall silly.
Kamen Rider went to the opposite direction with 2016's Kamen Rider Amazons, a story filled with blood, edgyness and grim fates for all the protagonists where they must kill former humans who were forcibly experimented on and turned into monsters while the protags are also like them.
People love Akibaranger, people don't like Amazons so much.
