-She makes a brief speech about the Pope being a traitor, and today they shall put the Church of the Three Heroes where it belongs. Internally she hopes they can get to the Shield Hero on time and for Melty's safety. The OP doesn't even plays this episode to show its seriousness-

-Back to the Heroes and their parties inside the cathedral barrier, Ren and Itsuki shoot powerful strikes at the Pope which are blocked and then he attacks them with torrents of flames. Naofumi commands Filo to carry Raphtalia, and one of her kicks managed to temporarily break his barrier, allowing Raphtalia to confront him and throw him off balance-

-The Church devotees keep praying and energizing the Pope, healing any wounds in very quick succession. Naofumi tells Filo to go on and pickup Motoyasu, Malty of course protests, not seen a fire attack shot at her which Melty blocked with a water spell-

He sends a powerful torrent of wind, then tells his Bishop that he needs more mana to deal with them, but the Bishop warns him that more than a third of their followers are aready too tired and that could put their lives at risk-

-The Pope tells him to remember this is a battle between God and the Devil, so dying here would be the equivalent of becoming a martyr, and there's no bigger honor than that, which convinces the Bishop to go along and tell them, evidently some falling dead from giving too much mana by now, and in their cultist fanatism not minding it-

Osakabehime's fears were confirmed as the Pope used that while to charge the replica weapon and says it's ready to purify, as it shoots a beam that's very strong, but Naofumi blocked it with the upgraded Shield of Wrath to the Pope's disbelief-

-Naofumi ordered Ren and Raphtalia to kee close to the Pope, then ordered Malty to power up Motoyasu with magic. The two begrudgingly follow orders and Motoyasu says at least he'll take it out on the Pope as he throws his spear in a technique called Air Strike Javelin-

The Pope called on sacred power to create a phoenix to strike them, Naofumi and Filo dodged by the former using Air Strike Shield midair plenty of times to make platforms, givig him time to do a chant to absorb the phoenix and recast its flames into a fire dragon that strikes the Pope, the other Heroes think it's time to strike down, but something's wrong, as the Pope emerged from the flames unscathed and the OP ends the moment Motoyasu's attack is blocked, and the same with the other three-

-That was one of his advanced techniques yet the Pope yelled that they have defied God abd cleansing them of their sins won't be enough, as he turned the weapon to its bow form and shot at the cathedral's celing to activate an illusion spell, that makes it so reflections of him appear all over shooting-
