Once it was killed, the sky returned to normal, the three remarking it was easy, though Motoyasu wondered where was Naofumi, Myne said she's glad he didn't come. The Captain arrived then, who seeing the monster dead, just said that the King is waiting them with rewards-

-Part of Lute village was destroyed, some people died, and others were very hurt, as Naofumi saw. Raphtalia said that they killed all the monsters, but asked if they really won... However, most of the villagers bowed to Naofumi and thanked him, saying they will be in eternal gratitude with him. He downplays himself saying they were just lucky, but their gratitude doesn't falters, as Raphtalia sees-

Naofumi says he has no time for this and goes off, but knights stop him, Aultcray arriving and saying he's heard of Raphtalia's slavery, but when she tries to defend him, he is silenced by a knight and Aultcray says that she must have been forced by her slave curse to defend him-

-Of course, Naofumi won't stand them silencing her, and Aultcray forces him to accept the duel, Myne smirking all the while. While preparing, Naofumi sees some swords and wonders if he can pick them... Only for the Shield to not allow him to-

The duel commences, Naofumi blocking his blows, mocking his previous analogy, but Motoyasu pushed him back and managed to land some hits, worrying Raphtalia. A brief POV from Motoyasu shows he's Lv. 43 while Naofumi is Lv. 21, so confidently he tried a stab and Naofumi countered by pushing him with his shield. Myne mocks Noafumi for thinking whacking with the shield will be enough...-

-But as it turned out, it was a distraction to make a Balloon latched at Motoyasu. Just like before, Naofumi reveals to keep more Balloons around him to use as traps. Naofumi smirked saying "If I can't win, at least I'll hurt you as much as I can", as Motoyasu demanded a fair duel and striked, Naofumi turned his shield into a two headed dog one obtained from the monster fought in the mines-

-Thanks to its bite trying to take his spear off, Naofumi uses the distraction to use Air Strike Shield, this time offensively as it rammed into Motoyasu, then trapped him in Shield Prison along many ballons. Some start to think he might win, even Ren and Itsuki admit he's obtained plenty of skills, though Aultcray scoffs and many royals still call him out that he's lowly without any respect for the sanctity of the duel. He doesn't cares, and offers Motoyasu the chance to give up as he undid Shield Prison-

Aultcray chuckled, declaring Motoyasu the winner, Myne hugging him, as cheers are heard. Naofumi however, claims that he cheated because of Myne, but of course, if the nobles saw it, nobody would say it-

-It is then that Aultcray not only compliments Motoyasu, but says "no wonder my daughter chose to adventure with you", and Myne called him Papa. It is then Naofumi realizes something: Myne is just an adventurer alias, her true name is Malty S. Melromac, princess of the kingdom, and more pieces fell into place: They setted everything up, and then would have their favored hero be the one with the best reputation. Of course, Aultcray knew his daughter didn't get assaulted, since the moment Naofumi was summoned he had disdain of him, noted by how he tried to ignore him at first and his lower treatment-

The nobles declared that the demi-human slaved by the damned Shield Hero would be freed, and in his vision Raphtalia is still the frail child slave that couldn't pick a weapon-

-The slave crest on her is undone, taking her out Naofumi's party, and Myne, better said Malty, untied and ungagged Raphtalia saying she's free. In his current mental breakdown, he thinks he sees Raphtalia just saying goodbye, and screams to himself, trying to throw his shield away, but he can't take it off. All the humilliation, betrayals, constant hate received and now thinking he once again was betrayed makes him think this world isn't worth saving. And it is then that in his stat window that this glitching message appears-
