As a whole actually, I feel like I made him "hahaha I'm a generic evil villain" when, 80s cartoon aside, he tends to be much more than that.

Most modern interpretations of him tend to have him as a fallen idealist of the lower class who intended to make a peaceful revolutionary movement against his planet's corrupt government, and clearly going off track at some point.

Aquamarine will even make sure Homeworld returns the favor. Being defeated and outwitted by human children, plus beung betrayed by Topaz really changed her, here.
