philosophy was actually my lowest subject. i suck at it but i find it interesting nontheless.

my top 2 subjects were maths specialist and maths methods (calculus 1 and calculus 2) followed by physics, so don't get me wrong, i still have the potential of employment

So I'm gonna play the devil's advocate here and at least try and defend some subjects we seem to be attacking despite severely limited knowledge on said subjects.

I'm not a philosophy major and haven't taken any courses in the subject, like most of you, but from what I understand people take philosophy primarily because they find it INTERESTING. Those taking it share a common interest in thinking on a deep level about life's mysteries and so forth, and though we could say it's a dead field, there are many reasons why simply using your brain in a way that is both CHALLENGING and ENJOYABLE are beneficial. Probably beneficial far beyond simply using a degree in a particular subject to seek financial gain in a relevant field/career.

Some benefits may include:
a) happiness and overall peace of mind
b) becoming generally smarter, or better at using your brain, problem solving, and critically thinking if anything.
c) landing a better(defined differently for each individual) position in life due to the aforementioned benefits and general well adjustment that may come of studying that which you may enjoy.

So don't hate on it, call it dead, or knock it until you see how deep, enjoyable, and possibly beneficial it may be. It may be old but can still probably be considered relevant and evolving. <-- This paragraph is supposed to resemble an argument for Smash64 to some brawl n00bz, therefore negating and counter argument, unless of course you don't like smash64 :p
CHECKMATE *****ES.

Anyway.. As for Women Studies- While some of us may feel pretty versed in their anatomy, There isn't a semester of classes anywhere in the universe that can make a man fully understand these creatures mentally and emotionally.

-learn fallacies
-learn syllogisms
-learn the rules of logic
-learn the structure of arguments
-write 2 essays: one for and one against God
-exam

i knew pretty much everything he learnt already simply from wikipedia hyperlink sessions =D

yr10 philosophy in our school was also known as counterstrike time (since we had school laptops)

mid-semester it changed to AoE time because CS is for internats and bogans

Also, from the VN I'm playing right now: "Young man, it's philosophical so long as one doesn't understand it. It is no longer a philosophy if you comprehend it."

And lol @ JimmyJoe's last paragraph
None of us knew anything about it.

wish we learnt philosophy in school.

we used our school laptops for halo time. after a few months it got banned in every possible way so it became weird flash games time. car parking games were the favourite. i just read manga :awesome:

i was never any good, however after a few games at james' weekly games nights i reckon i'm getting better. snipers are the most fun things in the game, followed by rockets.

i remember thug1, it was the only tony hawk game i ever owned/played. i vividly remember attempting infinites on 2-3 stages with a friend who introduced me to it, but neither of us could never keep them going for longer than 6minutes, man that game was the ****. infinite grinding was pure win, im sure id get bored of it after like 20minutes today.

had it for ps2 and online so im biased towards that controller

AAW SH** I MISS SOCOM2, **** zipper. so many matches of king of the boxes and cp'ing "ga*" maps during clan wars(death trap/enowapi, anyone?:troll:, will not EVER forget snipe-off's/quicksnipe lobbies during '04 when it was still kool and skillful. dumb socom4 is dumb

this year we studied ethics from the ancients to the moderns. how should we live our lives? what constitutes the good life? etc

then we studied metaphysics which is more what people think when they think philosophy. its the study of the nature of being which asks questions like do we exist? how do we know? etc

fifa 07-09 were masterpieces

Probably because Battlecow's racist, and white people have the most varied hair colors. Mostly the former.

Koreans should have been in E tier and Dudes in F

There are hot black chicks, like that smokin' joint from the cosby show, and japanese chicks can be attractive in their own way as well

No hot koreans that I've seen

I mean, I'd tap SK's mom as well, but just to say I did, not 'cause it would be enjoyable.

Maybe afterwards we could cuddle and debate free will

Dude me too. Game is amazing. NO SPOILERS ANYONE.

Battlecow, if you haven't seen a hot korean then you must not have googled 'hot korean' before (I'd link that but feels like a possible infraction, so you can do it yourself lol). Every race has very beautiful people, and very ugly people. Not saying some don't have higher frequency of attractive people than others of course.
