Lol. Speaking of things that are pretty ****ing funny,
Using ness against people who don't know what djc are.
Just played my little bro. He doesent allow me to use ness so hes never seen djc. I start chasing him around hyrule with THE HUB (djc uair). He starts bugging out and goes, what the ****! Is that even possible! So funny.

Okay. Reading this post, it doesent seem that funny. But believe me, it was hysterical.

:phone:
Good for him. Most people I play probably wouldn't even notice z-cancelling if I didn't explain it to them.

when my brother gets angry he starts running off the edge of the stage and suiciding

then blames desync
Usually when someone does this and they claim desync, I immediately think it's BS because that's not how desync works. You don't suddenly lose control of your character and walk or run off the stage until your character dies. Yes, this does happen when your opponent is on the floor on his screen, but he's in the air in yours, so he's attacking the air while falling down. Like this other time, a Jigglypuff went off stage and was up airing the air and then did a rest. Now I think that's a legitimate desync.

^This is why I'm good at faking DSes. I just continue to hit and end up suicinding. I rarely do that though.
LOL. I was thinking about this too but I didn't want to point it out. I usually get suspicious when this happens whenever they start losing. It's a win-win situation since why would you want to pretend to DS if you're winning? Anyways, why would you pretend to DS? :p

Haha, I figured that much. Idk, I just went off on a tangent there ^^'

That's actually quite funny because whenever I see some weird movement or something looks strange in other video games, I think of DS. Curse you Kaillera!

Oh I sometimes do it as a mindgame as I don't really suicide and attack while the other is writing "ds?". LOL I'm kidding, I've faked DS maybe once or twice when I really felt helpless. It was when I was worse than now.

And I thought it was weird that Pete would play with his brother over kaillera.

When I play my brother offline and he does something stupid/suicide, I sometimes think of DS for half a second.

Ah, okay I see. lol

malva conveniently running away to the east coast so he doesn't have to defend his title

I see how it is
I'm pretty sure he's going to EC for Apex

Hey smash 64 guys, I need to get really good at this game by Saturday. I'm willing to practice if it comes to that, but I'd prefer something that I could just inject into my brain or whatever.

Play kirby, utilt a lot

People always do this and remain bad and ask me what they're doing wrong

and I tell them to Utilt more

It's literally a cure-all.

Also, **************** **** **** ****

I wanted to see Isai v. Tacna 2

Are you guys sure we can't get Gerson/Alvin out here for Apex?

No, AA doesn't know what he's talking about.

Trust me, I've trained about 500 scrubs to be not-as-terrible in tiny amounts of time. Kirby. Utilt. Fsmash a lot to kill and Down-air them when they're off the edge.

hey now

All low-level play loses to it

I speak from loads of experience (do it. I dare you.)

Also the only info you have about my falcon comes from my self-deprecation, so shhhh

But yeah, it ***** dashgrab falcon's balls off =/

I try to bair and stuff

but that's just prolonging the inevitable

my newest CP strategy is just to pick kirby and try to make the match as long and boring as possible.

lol is it me or does malva constantly talk about finally posting is 3,333rd post. something seems a bit fishy to me:alien:

about the "i need to get good in a week" thing. you should probablyy choose samus, get above them and do your b-down for a rightous firework show.

i kid i kid. seriously though, either the pika or kirby approach is good. iff you really have no idea what your doing, the kirby approach may be easier in my opinion

americans sound like they're boring to play against, no sense of self-respect at all

chill out guys, it's a game

Glyphmoney, what sort of players are you up against - casual kids who had N64s at their gran's 10 years ago, or actual players? If the former, use Battlecow's strategy. If the latter, you may need to be less one-tracked.

He can't get good with pika in a week. My strategy is his only hope, and will work against a lot of people who don't play competitively.

to be fair to bcow, this was my post on his wall

pick kirby, spam utilt, bair approaches, dair spike off stage, dtilt edgeguards, fsmash when feasible.

i recommended kirby before it was cool to recommend kirby. hipster status

his first post was literally 'u-tilt twenty thousand times, then some more'

and what you've posted there is also a significant part of playing kirby at high level, combos excluded

****ing quick edits WHERE

i mean glyph plays brawl so bair approaches and dairs off stage wont be tough to get used to.

neither will dtilts on the edge or utilts.

i mean timing them and **** will take getting used to but its not hard.

To give you an idea of how good the people I'm play are, every match they play is on Sector Z.

I'm miles ahead of them as far as smash basics go, they just have played 64 a hellva lot more than me.

then you can go ahead and use kirby to gay them out as kuz and bcow said

it feels bad giving quick fixes, because if they believe this is the pinnacle of play they'll have a hard time getting any better

i hope you can make z-cancelling an instinct in one week

Since you already know about spacing and whatnot from other smash games, you're probs losing because they have better combos in a game with a hectic punishment game.

You're better off just spending a week learning an easy combo like falcon upairs to upb or yoshi upairs to bair to fair. Once you can punish them as much or more then they can, you win in smash 64 pre easily.

brawl has no z-cancelling (though it has autocancels, which i don't think are comparable), melee has a nerfed version of it

i prefer calling it l-cancelling regardless

Danmm. I allways thought I it would be stupid if they took z cancelling away so every time I've played melee and brawl I get so pissed because I think I'm doing it wrong.
What's l cancelling?

i think z-cancelling is a valuable contributor to both gameplay and level design, and its complexity adds lots to the game's appeal, making it more available to new players and more desirable to veterans of games with more complex inputs
