I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure you can hit up your bank for some silver dollars. I know you can get $2 bills.

In fact, I have integrated $2 bills into my cash habits, regularly paying with and leaving them as tips. I pretty much do it for the funny looks I get.

Also, aren't there like at least 3 or 4 different dollar coins? I know there are the silver dollars, those Sacagawea coins, and the golden dollars that were popular a few years back...

you're using vending machines THAT often that that's really a concern? lol. also it's rare to find a bill that absolutely would not work in a vending machine, although it is annoying when it takes multiple tries.

coins fit nice and snuggly into my wallet/car tray and make buying things from vending machines/paying for my parking ticket at the machines twenty times easier

i use vending machines multiple times a day because often my breaks between classes are too short to go and get a decent meal

Does everyone in Australia live off of vending machines? Seriously, I can't remember the last time I used one of those...

And coins in wallets is a terrible idea. Your wallet ends up all permanently misshapen and awkwardly wide at those points where the coins all settle, and if you walk around with your wallet in your back pocket, that is probably the worst thing ever.

Regarding the coin tricks, American still has plenty of coins, bro! The French drop is always a classic and never fails to impress!

Although I will admit, being able to roll a coin across your knuckles is the most badass thing ever, and I always keep a quarter or two (or poker chip) for exactly that purpose.

it also sorta wears off on your hands and feels kinda gross

maybe you just have exceptionally clean coins

$1.17? Here in California bags of chips were like 99 cents and now they're $1.09 and there's no tax on that. ****, I miss being able to pay for a bag of chips with just a dollar and now I have to carry change to buy chips

I agree 100% - their is just way too many people who make this sort of mistake, and to be quite honest, there really starting to anger me. Life would be so much simpler if people just learned they're damn homophones.
