Speaking of things I've been meaning to get into, I finally downloaded a Touhou game - Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. So far I am horrible compared to the kids on Youtube. Can barely get past Stage 3 on Normal LOL
I started with EoSD as well. I found IN and PCB easier

Why not pick up all 3? Playing with multiple characters is fun, and I feel it can only help you get better at the game rather than hurt you.

^what he said

Learning multiple characters really helps your overall ability. Also, the better you know each character, the better you can do against each character.

if he's going to play at apex he should focus on just one imo

falcon is easiest to pick up, and his playstyle isn't totally unlike ness's

or you could pick pika, strike hyrule and throw > gimp to win matches

So apparently my Linear Systems Theory professor is trying to steal my identity...
Does Homework #1 means this was your first piece of assessment? If so it feels like he asked for your SS number as a test to everyone. If you give it to him you instantly fail the course xD

I did, but I'm still bad.

I grinded on Stage 3 on Lunatic for a while, because I suck at weaving.
You'll get there champ.

Elaborate...

My Foxtel (Aussie version of Tivo I guess) died. I decided to start lurking User Blogs, specifically Alien Vision's threads, or threads that he posts in.

It's 10x better than watching Foxtel.

Kero- I probably won't come to Apex. I'm in high school- missing school is hard, my parents are hella strict, and NY's a hell of a drive. I try to hit all the Midwest tourneys, but east coast? not until a year or two from now.
what, uh, midwest tourneys are there? i would love to go to one...

Check the Tournament listings section of smashboards, click on "midwest," check to see which ones have 64.

Next one I'm going to is IMDB, which is in Madison on the 17th. only a $5 entrance fee, so I won't make that much, but maybe I can MM a fool or two.

can someone host another online tourney so i have a reason to play again
I've been thinking about hosting a low-tier doubles tourney (no Pika, Fox, Kirby, Falcon, or Mario). I know it's difficult to get doubles matches done, but if people showed enough interest after this post I would be willing to host it.

I recommend you use hard deadlines to get games in. As long as it doesn't go on too long so that people just lose interest and stop playing, it really moves things along in my experience.

Can someone tell me their control set up on keyboard?

I am trying to find a good control set up where I can make use of the c button so I can short hop.

I just use default with spacebar for shorthop and mapped C-buttons on L-Shift, numpad zero and Q...

...but I'm not normal apparently. Basically, you have to experiment until you're comfortable.

I use wasd for controls, E for short hopping, the arrow keys for the other C buttons, and 123456 on the num pad for the rest.

I use

Arrows = Stick
z = a
x = b
c = C Button
v = grab/Shield
a = Shield/grab
s = Taunt
SpaceBar = Random Macro Lulz
1-2-3-5 = Stick with a Modified Y axis of 36 % Lulz

WASD for directions, E for R, Q for L, T for A, Y for B, U for Z, J for one of the c-buttons

It's objectively the best button setup.

You just need inputs that would allow you to do every move. For example my input (for the rare time I play kb) doesn't allow me to shine out of shine, so it sucks.

What I'm watching now is Dragon Ball, planning on watching all the chapters through DB to Dragon Ball Z.

I did that like two months ago. If you are dedicated and allowed to do whatever you want at work you can go from DB to the end of Z in like 3 to 4 weeks iirc. Though I did play at least 4 hours of smash every night.
