$40,000 in student loans say i shouldn't go to genesis 2 despite the fact that i would love to. also, i'm not TO'ing that event so i have no say in a crew battle tourney. battlecow, are you going to either tourney?

No, sadly enough. I was gonna go to genesis, but some old people I know wouldn't let me and Apex is during school. I'm probably going to MSU tho. In a couple of years or w/e I'll be hitting up every national, BET YOUR ***.

Anyways, I thought you were going to Japan to escape those loans? Just go to genesis and then win $40,000 in MM's.

that's sad. i'll definitely see you at a tourney in a few years then. as for Japan, well, I was just offered a decent job here in the US of A (which i'm sure you support ;) ) but the real reason i'm not going to Japan anymore is I don't want to leave my girlfriend for a year. She is going to be a heart surgeon so i'm willing to sacrifice my ****ty career for a stateside job and more time to play smash. ;)

DBZ spoiled me, i cant get into any anime anymore. If i watch one episode of something and feel that it wont be as good or better than DBZ then i dont watch it.
DBZ is pretty much unwatchable. So much filler. Like I really need 12 reaction shots any time anyone does anything.

Yeah, but so is Battlecow. You think he's a mature young man? Ha...!

Nintendude probably ***** the **** out of him. Just putting that out there. :troll:

jk I love you ballin
the ruleset for that tourney allowed you to ban stages ... so he banned Hyrule :(

Anyways, malva is 26 so I think he's older than all of us. When I was in second grade learning long division, he was already dominating the 64 scene.
I thought the great Star King was ageless and had ruled the cosmos for all time... looks like he's just a Shooting Star.

When did I ever claim to be ageless? I am a mere 16 years old. Silly ballin

And I've EVOLVED from Shooting Star like a year ago

DB and DBZ manga is the ****. So freaking good.

The anime is indeed pretty much garbage though. I honestly have no idea how it's so popular, while the manga is almost something aside.

I can't wait for my sister to move out after the summer. One less person to steal my interwebz and make me lag randomly.

That's right, fake smash is more important than family.

I might be spoiled because I read the manga before I watched the show, and I never was all that much into anime anyway. But seriously, there's no comparison. Manga >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> show.

I'll give a 3rd recommendation for Angel Beats!

Can't go wrong with TTGL.

Wolf and Spice if you want something not-action.

here's my random post about combo making

creating a good combo takes a lot of trial and error. whether you start with an idea in mind or not, you start with a few attacks, and you slowly build from there. if a potential combo is complicated, a player usually can't visualize the whole combo and think "aha, that will work, now i'll perform the whole thing!" this means that you have to perform an unfinished combo from the beginning over and over to decide where you wanna go (possibly for many attacks until the very last hit); sometimes you run into a dead end, where the string of attacks you thought would lead you somewhere good leads you with nothing left.

the whole process can take so much time, that you might settle for an inferior combo, simply because you don't want to continue performing what you have so far (especially as the difficulty increases) to experiment with different attacks 10-15 hits into the combo.

this is why if you want to make a great combo while saving countless hours, you're better off using save states on an emulator to create the combo, and then perform the whole thing on console unless you're a fake smasher or you have no access to a 64. assign save/load state to buttons on the controller. now do a few moves, then save state. then load the save state, and you can automatically experiment with different attacks. you might want to keep a backup of earlier save states, in case you run into one of those dead ends, don't like where you're going, or want to practice a certain part of the combo before actually recording it being done all at once.

yeah that's all i wanna say for now. i might edit. you guys see that movie Rango? pretty average I regret watching it

Yup,watching the anime before the manga really puts me off from the series as a whole.Specially where the plot's all messed up.

I was just offered a decent job here in the US of A (which i'm sure you support ;) ) but the real reason i'm not going to Japan anymore is I don't want to leave my girlfriend for a year. That's quite a leap hammy, what are you doing/did for your career?

these kids don't watch anime
shouldn't give them actual good recommendations, you'll ruin their lives
Ooh,sounds like advice from personal experience, did you get hooked on one before? Also, been wondering for a while about your avatar, does it belong to
Nagisa
?

As for recommended anime;
  • Mononoke -Both animation and storyline was wonderful,I recommend xxxHolic if you haven't seen it.Quasi-similar art theme and cryptic story development/views
  • Toradora! -One of those rare multi-girl romances that actually resolves itself in the end.And I'm a sucker for Kugimiya Rie.
  • Aoi Bungaku-Based on 6 separate classical Japanese pieces of literature.Pretty dark themes,if you're into that sort of thing

I never watched good anime - I only watched crap shonen anime which all shared the same attractive features (pretty sure uncyclopedia would have a good definition of this but you can figure it out yourself)

Even though I'm aware of this crapness I still "read" bleach and one piece every week lol cuz the manga isn't that bad.

Bleach - story moves insanely slow and so it makes me laugh every week about how slow it goes (e.g. a couple weeks ago it revolved around a girl wanting a doughnut in a guy's video game)

One piece - I just want to know what happens in the end, but I don't think that day is coming in my lifetime. We'll see.

Oh yeah I have been watching nichijou, it makes me laugh too and I don't know why.

One Piece is OK but I think it's hugely overrated. It's better than Bleach though lol

Anyways, I had the same curse as you, B Link. I would read garbage shonen even though I could feel their awfulness. I managed to break free, though. Bleach did it for me. I simply couldn't take it anymore.

aa's avatar is indeed a Dango from Clannad closely associated with Nagisa.

One Piece is an amazing manga, not overrated at all.

This thread needs more Negima.

Why is One Piece so good I don't understand.

Maybe I didn't read far enough. I only read to like, Volume 25 or something. But that's a pretty big chunk, and that chunk didn't seem that special at all to me. Just another fight manga, but with "unique" art.
