I don't think he was necessarily overshadowed, the buzz around his reveal at E3 was enormous, just that the talk for him faded into the background. The people who didn't care for him beyond speculation didn't have any reason to talk about him anymore and his fans congregated elsewhere. It happened to K. Rool too and I'm already seeing it happening with Banjo, that's just how hype cycles are.I know we're talking about birds but something that's been on my mind the last few days:
Anyone else feel like Ridley got kind of... overshadowed in this game? Between Everyone Is Here, K. Rool, Joker, Banjo-Kazooie, etc. what was once the most anticipated and demanded newcomer in Smash history had his 15 minutes of fame and then the Smash fanbase moved onto other things. I think his popularity peaked in Smash 4 and if he was revealed then he would have been easily one of the most discussed/hyped newcomers of that game, with maybe only Mega Man being more talked about. It's great that he's finally here but I think of all the characters in Smash, he's the one that kinda feels "too late."
Wait it's a raven maybe
More Persona 4 after more than a decade of it?No yu narukami from persona 4 in the next smash game?
Ok![]()
Only if he comes with Blue Jesus as an echo.No yu narukami from persona 4 in the next smash game?
Ok![]()
Not really. He was revealed at E3 2018 as one of the first few newcomers. That's about the best you can get.I know we're talking about birds but something that's been on my mind the last few days:

Nah, Starman’s being promoted as our third EarthBound repIt’s Starfy you fricks
Thought Waluigi would get upgraded? Think again.
Yeah I’m ecstatic that Ridley is the game and even play him a lot, but since he’s already in what can I really say that hasn’t already been said? People are a lot less loud when they’re content.I don't think he was necessarily overshadowed, the buzz around his reveal at E3 was enormous, just that the talk for him faded into the background. *****, please. Waluigi's nose resembles that of a bird's beak. He is obviously in.It’s Starfy you fricks

I mean, we're treating freaking Cloud Strife in a Nintendo crossover as just another swordfighter.I know we're talking about birds but something that's been on my mind the last few days:

Do we count harpies as birds? Like, technically, but it seems like a stretch.Shantae of course! The window theory already confirmed that she was in the game, but Shantae can also turn into a bird! This clearly means that she is in! No doubt!
That is supposed to be part of the joke.Do we count harpies as birds? Like, technically, but it seems like a stretch.
is it me or does cloud strife's design just scream pop punk musicalI mean, we're treating freaking Cloud Strife in a Nintendo crossover as just another swordfighter.
I thought it was just me, honestly. Glad to know that I'm not alone here. Also, the swimming is fixed in Banjo-Tooie, as it is much easier to control.Good lord, why is the swimming in Banjo Kazooie so atrocious
Maybe banjos just not the best swimmer smh give him a break /sGood lord, why is the swimming in Banjo Kazooie so atrocious
Gotcha. Still think she should be in though. That is supposed to be part of the joke.
The only N64 3D game with good swimming is Majora’s Mask.Good lord, why is the swimming in Banjo Kazooie so atrocious
If this is anything, I’d say it’s pointing towards velvet. Though I do think it’s odd that Sakurai would go with that over Lloyd or YuriAlright candidates so far for Bird Theory.

I loved swimming as Zora Link, but besides Majora’ Mask, what games have good/fun swimming in general? The only N64 3D game with good swimming is Majora’s Mask.
The flying also doesn't feel great. It's a good thing there's so much more to love in that game.Good lord, why is the swimming in Banjo Kazooie so atrocious
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze?I loved swimming as Zora Link, but besides Majora’ Mask, what games have good/fun swimming in general?
