If we can answer this without starting an argument, I have another Pokémon question.

Name the Pokémon from each Gen that hasn't already been confirmed to be in SwSh that you want most.
Gen 1: Sandshrew/Sandlslash
Gen 2: Mareep/Flaffy/Ampharos
Gen 3: Shroomish/Breloom
Gen 4: Riolu/Lucario (Got It!)
Gen 5: Sandile/Krokorok/Krookodile
Gen 6: Espurr/Meowstic (Got it!)
Gen 7: Rockruff/Lycanroc

I’m probably late in posting this but:

I don’t play Fire Emblem, I don’t really care much for it, nor do I know too much about it aside from a few things here and there, but when it comes to representation in Smash, having just Marth (with Lucina and maybe Chrom as skins akin to Alph and the Koopalings), Ike and Robin, and probably a villain is the best way to go about it.

Marth, Ike and Robin represent 3 different eras of FE, have unique playstyles (light and quick swordfighter, heavy and powerful swordfighter, and mage swordfighter), and are all popular in their own right. Lucina (and Chrom kind of to an extent) can easily be just a skin for Marth if not kept as an echo fighter.

Roy is only around in Smash still, mostly because of fan demand resulting from Melee nostalgia (he and Marth were the first taste of Fire Emblem for the West) and how he was made more unique from Marth after the latter got a number of changes in Brawl.

Corrin, iirc, was put in mostly as a promotion for Fates, despite having a unique moveset, and could easily be swapped for the protagonists of later FE games as a “flavor of the month” deal.

But I’m probably just talking out of my own ***, since I’m not very knowledgeable on FE, and because I believe that 7 characters is way too many for FE in Smash.

Question for y'all. What's been your favorite reveal trailer so far?
Oooh, I just saw this...hm...

:ultridley: < Yup, just that one. From everything I have seen so far. It has been the only one that made me lose my mind and almost have a heart attack, and get my eyes watery in the process. ;'3 And of course, it was a BOOST POWAH for my artistic mind, drawing a way more constantly than before. I had already accepted the possiblity of it not happening but I was going to keep working on Rids anyway, but OH SURPRISE.

This pleases me.
French Fries aren't French at all!

I loved Ridley's and Simon's for the sheer brutality, Banjo's for the rare shout out, and Hero's because anything that involves WoL is 10/10 in my book

Detective Pikachu made Mewtwo one of my favorite Pokemon
Detective Pikachu reinforced Mewtwo being one of my favorite Pokémon.

They also found a way to make him look scary and intimidating or cute and huggable whenever they wanted, which is an impressive accomplishment in itself.

Wish I knew, I would’ve bought some while I was at Meijer a bit ago.
This is better than any Christmas I’ve ever had.
I will be capitalizing on this revelation tonight. During my travels to my job shadowing, I will be ordering dinner at Outback and ordering as many fries as possible.

Regarding Fire Emblem, since someone brought it again, I feel representation is fine due to how the franchise works.

Unlike most of the series in the game, it is a franchise that rarely repeats casts between new games and most of the time the most important character functions in the same archetype as the Lord that uses Swords as their weapon of choice.

Only "sin" Nintendo has committed regarding representation in Smash is probably just the amount of characters that were based on Marth's archetype due to several reasons but at the same time characters like Roy have changed a lot since Melee and both Lucina and Chrom being echoes don't require as many resources as other characters. The other three characters (Ike, Robin and Corrin) present unique archetypes and are a non-issue in this regard apart from the series they come from.

Corrin never bothered me as apart from being a no-personality in their own game, it presents a fun archetype in being a character that can morph their limbs which in all honesty I find it quite fun. Plus I can think that they were selected due to being recent more than anything else.

Frankly my perception of most of the people that complain about them, its just because they have the idea that cutting certain characters would make their picks more likely or just because for some silly reason they are bothered with a series like FE has more playable characters than other ones they like.

It really just comes down to the fact that Fire Emblem tripled its cast size between Brawl and Smash 4, with two of those characters being in the DLC. Too much too soon for most people. If Wolf returned instead of Roy (being saved for Everyone Is Here) it probably would have stymied complaints somewhat.

Visit different character support threads more often. You'll find new people to associate yourself with.

I don't know if other forums interest you, though.

I’ll just assume that it is another dumb theory. Lemme google it.

It’s dumb.
Most theories at this point run on high hopes. Understandable feeling, but still desperate.

I'm gonna get Minecraft for my switch sometime, my first time playing in like 5 years. Can y'all gimme a crash course in all the new gizmos and whatnot?
Not entirely sure how to explain everything but here are some basic stuffs:

  • Campfire: cooks food slower than a furnace but can cook 4 at a time; crafted with 3 logs, 3 sticks, and 1 coal.
  • Smoker: cooks food faster than a furnace; crafted with a furnace and 4 logs.
  • Blast Furnace: smelts ores faster than a furnace; crafted with 3 smooth stone blocks, a furnace, and 5 iron.
  • Grindstone: let's you repair and disenchant items; crafted with 2 planks, 2 sticks, and 1 stone slab.
  • Stonecutter: let's you make different stone-type blocks; crafted with 3 stone and 1 iron.
  • Lanterns: a new light source you can place on the ground or hang from a ceiling, and is slightly brighter than torches; crafted with 1 torch and 8 iron nuggets.
  • Tridents: you can't craft them, but Drowned (water zombies) rarely drop them; you can use them as melee weapons or ranged weapons, and they have a few enchantments of their own.
  • Undead mobs now sink in water; Zombies underwater will slowly turn into Drowned.
  • Villages and villagers have been completely revamped, and have new enemies that invade them called "Pillagers." A Pillager raid will occur if you walk into a village with the "Bad Omen" effect, which is given to you when you kill a Pillager captain (a Pillager with a banner on his head).
  • You can't tame ocelots anymore, but can make them "trust" you, whatever that does. Cats can be found in villages, and can still be tamed. They will sleep in a bed with you and will sometimes bring you "gifts" when tamed.
  • You can swim faster with a new swimming animation if you try to sprint while in water, and you can fit through 1x1 spaces while swimming.
  • Dolphins will swim around in the oceans, and like to play with items dropped in the water. If you attack one, the whole pod will attack you. You can feed them fish, I think, to make them friendlier towards you and willing to lead you to shipwrecks or something. They'll give you an effect called "Dolphin's Grace" by swimming with/near you, which gives you a speed boost.
  • If you don't sleep within 3 days, Phantoms (flying manta ray-like undead mobs) will spawn and try to attack you. They drop phantom membranes, which can be used to make Slow Falling potions (as the name says, you fall slowly, and won't take fall damage (unless I forgot something; I feel like you may start to fall faster at some point and can take fall damage, but I'm not sure)).
  • You can craft a nautilus or something that lets you breathe underwater within a certain range, and will attack hostile mobs that come near it. You have to build a kinda small structure out of prismarine-type blocks with the nautilus in the center, I believe, for it to work. To get the nautilus itself, you have to get 8 nautilus shells from Drowned which rarely drop them, and a "Heart of the Sea" which rarely appears in buried treasure or maybe shipwrecks, I'm not sure.
  • There are hostile "Illagers" in mansions that rarely generate in forest/roofed forest biomes, and you can get a "Totem of Undying" from these that instantly revives you and allows you to keep your inventory if you're holding it as you die.
  • Dual-wielding, though in the Bedrock Edition it only lets you hold a map and I think a few other things in your off-hand currently.
  • The End now has outer islands, End Cities (basically towers that sometimes have floating ships near them), and chorus fruit/"trees," and you can get a pair of wings called "Elytra" from the End City ships. You can only get here if you either build out 1,000 or so blocks from the main island or you throw an ender pearl through a small portal that appears once you defeat the Ender Dragon.
  • Elytra let's you fly similar to the Wing Cap in Super Mario 64; you can use fireworks to make yourself go higher while flying. Elytra have limited uses, but can be repaired with phantom membranes.
  • Magma Blocks generate in the Nether; they damage you if you walk on them, but you can walk over them safely while sneaking. They create bubble currents that pull things down underwater, while Soulsand does the opposite.
  • Removed Herobrine

Smash has barely scratched the surface when it comes to Mario, Pokemon and FE characters. In FE's case, I don't like the lineup of characters at all. 4 out of the 7 Fire Emblem characters are WAAY too similar, moveset wise.

If we can answer this without starting an argument, I have another Pokémon question.

Name the Pokémon from each Gen that hasn't already been confirmed to be in SwSh that you want most.

Gen 1: Mewtwo
Gen 2: Lugia
Gen 3: Latias/Latios
Gen 4: Garchomp
Gen 5: Zoroark
Gen 6: Greninja (and since Goodra and Noivern are already in, he's the only one left I want.)
Gen 7: Lycanroc
Gen 1: Venusaur
Gen 2: Feraligatr
Gen 3: Groudon
Gen 4: Garchomp
Gen 5: Krookodile
Gen 6: Tyrantrum
Gen 7: Don't really care.

In general I'm not really that fussed about it, I'm going to try and only use Gen 8 Pokémon for my first playthrough, and then after that it's up to the game's quality whether or not I'm going to do another playthrough. A lot of the Pokémon that I do like are already in too, on top of the ones I mentioned I just need a few more of my Gen 1 favorites (Weezing, Slowbro, Jigglypuff and Pinsir), and I'm pretty confident they'll make it in the end, but even if they don't I'll manage.

A big reason I probably don't care that much about it is that I don't plan on doing much of the postgame stuff anymore, I've had my fair share of that stuff in previous games, so I'd rather just start a new playthrough doing some sort of challenge, or simply just move on to other games. The effect that this whole cutting controversy has varies a lot depending on how the player plays the game, obviously the core Pokémon community is outraged since they're planning on playing it to its fullest potential, and that's completely fair, but I also think a lot of players will be surprised at how little it'll impact their experience.
