As long as Grookey's final evo doesn't become Sceptile 3.0 (or Decidueye 2.0) and everyone bandwagons on getting him in Smash, he sounds cool to me.

If I have sadly learnt something from the months before June it is that Death can take any kind of person at any moment, no matter their age.

Not fully caught up but from the topics I've been reading the past couple of days, I figured I'd throw in my two cents on two topics in particular. Gonna spoiler them as usual since I don't know how to make short posts.

Spoiler: Ultimate port vs brand new game

There was the question of whether one would prefer Ultimate to continue getting ports or for the next Smash game to be largely brand new. Evidently from most of the replies I saw, I've got the less popular opinion of wanting a new game, even if it means fewer characters. I care way more about good, fun gameplay than I do about the amount of characters. I can go back to 64, Melee, Brawl and Project M and have a good time even with the smaller roster size compared to 4 and Ultimate and yet I pretty much forced myself to enjoy 4 as much as I barely could since it was the most recent game. People clamored on and on about the huge cast size and yet I ended up consistently enjoying a whopping 2 characters. Plus Ultimate has some really annoying flaws that would more likely be fixed in a brand new game rather than a port. Not to say Ultimate isn't a fun game, it's tied with Melee for my favourite in the series but I'd much rather Ultimate stand on its own as another unique entry in the series than have it become 100% obsolete by a superior port. Let the next game also be 100% unique and stand on its own rather than just ride off the success of Ultimate. And when the next Smash game does come around, if you really can't find at least one character you enjoy then you either just got terrible luck with cut characters or perhaps that particular entry just isn't for you like 4 wasn't really for me.

Spoiler: Pokemon SwSh

The other topic I'd like to discuss is good ol' Pokemon SwSh. Some new trailer for it came out, just watched it before continuing this part of my post. Still not interested in the game personally and I won't even bother with new Pokemon unless I get around to beating a gen 7 game (I refuse to go back to gen 6 unless a Nuzlocke makes it tolerable) and I'm in no real hurry to do that either. Actually been in the mood to go back and re-evaluate gens 4 and 5 since I have a pretty good idea of the pros and cons of gens 1-3. Anywho, I'm trailing off from the main topic I wanted to bring up. I've seen a lot of people mentioning how the graphics look better when that was one of the issues with what was shown at E3. I again, don't really care for them but then I also preferred the sprite artwork and would've loved if Pokemon continued in that style and even went the way Octopath did. But I see others act as if the graphics being improved suddenly negates the criticisms that were made about them back at E3, mentioning how the footage isn't final yet. I find that a poor argument as the entire point of showing us gameplay is to try and make us want to buy the game and if the graphics aren't looking good when the game is less than a year away from release. that is a genuine criticism to make. And this goes even further than graphics. They mentioned sometime around E3 about the lack of National Dex which is the biggest issue being taken with the game and they didn't really have anything to compensate for that loss. Most didn't care for the Dynamaxing thing and now they show Gigamaxing or whatever it was called which is at least a bit more interesting. I feel that thing and some more Pokemon should've been shown off around the time they were going to announce the lack of National Dex. It would've helped further reduce the backlash. There would've been some regardless and I can completely understand cuts having to come eventually and it was better to mention it sooner rather than later so they didn't get negative pressure right as the games were coming out but I feel they should've shown the most noteworthy positives alongside the most noteworthy negative to try and balance it out rather than this trickle of info they seem to be going with. There was also mention that people should wait till the game comes out before they give it criticism but that can go the other way too. Wait till the game comes out before bothering to give it any praise. There could be a bunch of great stuff in the game people won't know about until it comes out but there could also be a bunch of awful stuff too. I've at least got it rather convenient, only seeing Pokemon talk here and on Youtube and I haven't seen much in the way of outlandish criticism. Most of it seems rather justified.

Regarding my idea of making mug tea avatars for Mysterio and Guv... I feel that I could make them on my own.

Sadly, I suck at drawing on a computer, so I have to resort with traditional paper to make them.
This of course means that they won’t look as well as I wish as avatars, since I will have to take real life pictures of the art with my iPad.

Although just in case, could a scanner transfer the drawings on the paper to a computer?

Remember when the Gen 7 final evos got leaked and everyone hated Incineroar because he was another bipedal fire/fighting type, even though he wasn't another bipedal fire/fighting type?

It's fine to be skeptical. Just try reserving your judgment until the official reveal.

yeah, that sounds like a you problem. Like, who the **** cares if a pokemon has a male or female look. That shouldnt be a reason why you might not like it and if it is such a big problem, thats something you need to work out

As my game characters, in movies and tv, as friends and coworkers, everything. And that I have a hard time being comfortable around men IRL. To the point where some of my past posts have been kind of misandrist. It’s a me problem but one I also have a hard time getting over. I just wish one of the Pokémon starters was more feminine, or even not obvious masculine like all these descriptions seam to be.

Ok, so when I come back to Gran Canaria, I will start to work on those smug Mysterio and Guv avatars.

My idea is to make them based on these three pictures:

Now here’s the elephant in the room: should I take the risk and colour the art on the paper itself, attempt to see if a scanner can send the drawings to a computer and attempt the colours with Paint or just leave the drawings without colour?

I'd actually prefer the starter Pokémon designs to be more gender neutral.

Just for the sheer fact that against all odds, a Smash game was announced in a run-of-the-mill Nintendo Direct of all things. Not E3, just your typical Nintendo Direct. Still gives me goosebumps to this day.

As for actual character reveals itself, because they were some of my most anticipated newcomers (I was one of the very few here actually campaiging for Incineroar, as Litten is my all time favorite starter Pokemon). and it made perfect sense for em to be in the same trailer.

King K. Rool’s was great. I would rank Banjo’s trailer the same as K. Rool’s, but it just felt like they were trying to re-use a joke they already used.
