I don't understand how Zacian and Zamazenta have been getting some of the hate they have been. They're certainly a bit unorthodox and don't fit some interesting fan concepts of these characters, but I think that they look really cool all the same and are pretty cool legendaries. Especially Zacian since Sif's Wolf is a personal favorite of the Dark Souls' universe.

All of the Cover Legendaries aside from Lugia/Ho-oh and maybe Xerneas/Yveltal (they had to wait until after XY to get that) have gotten notable backlash at their initial reveals, so it's not too surprising. As time goes on the vocal hate will calm down and people will be calmer in voicing their criticisms, though it will partially depend on how they're implemented.

Personally, while they're not my favorite duo (Reshiram and Zekrom still hold that title), I personally like both of them. Their designs are pretty cool and I like how some of their extra details have a use in their concept (ex. Zacian's wings becoming a part of its sword), and the brothers in arms feel that the two have at the moment is pretty neat. Hopefully their story and lore makes good use of their potential though since I'd hate for them to feel shoehorned in like what happened with XY.

arceus is the biggest offender. they give some random BS reason of "oh they'll understand you" for the creation trio, but no, GOD HIMSELF just lets a 10 year old catch him and make him a slave

Xerneas and Yveltal, The brings of life and death themselves, doing literally nothing for X & Y’s story continues to upset me to this day.

Truth and Ideals got a rad plot, Time and Space had great lore. Even the ones that are just aliens have an interesting connection to the player, being introduced as a cosmic fart cloud who you interacted with lead to the legendary reveal having a more emotional impact. But life and death got jack ****.

I really wanted a Z version to flesh out Kalos.
