Like the wing cap? Oh come on. It can't be that bad. What is it, a red coins mission?
Yup.

Also the lilypad of death level, where you have to...very....slowly.... move a Lilypad while collecting red coins... and if the lily pad either hits a wall or times out.... you drop into the water... which is poisonous... which is an instant death.

Sunshine is NOTORIOUSLY hard for a good reason.

Sure, but you'll have to literally either:

Never touch a single Blue coin through your entire first run, which does get very annoying so you can save them all for later

OR

You have to write every single coin down to cross reference the ones you've already obtained
That second one is not as hard as you make it out to be. I already do **** like that all the time when I play games. Nothing can be worse then getting every single Riddler Trophy in all three Arkham Games.

OK. Maybe I'll just get to the ending on that one.

There's no point because it's a red coin mission. You either have to get the red coins in it, which are all above the water, which requires steering the Lilypad, or you just don't do it period, there's no other way for that Shine.

Not even to say that getting to it requires an absurd process of having to get a Yoshi, having to jump between moving boats and then waiting until the boat passes by a specific Island while using Yoshi on a pipe before Yoshi times out.

I was referring to Sunshine as a whole

Lily pad level is way worse because battling the physics to grab the red coins is a ***** and it's such a long hike back there if you happen to mess up.
Not to mention the pipe at the end. “Oh look a way back to the beginning of the levelNOPE TAKEN BACK TO THE OVERWORLD *****!!”

For your sake, I'd honestly say that's for the best, because man, Sunshine is kinda brutal at times lol. If you're not willing to bite the bullet and tackle some incredibly difficult challenges that the bad physics make worse, a simple race to the finish is probably for the best.

And even then it's more like a slow jog since you HAVE to do the first 7 Shines in every level.

Honestly, I never thought the watermelon stage was that bad.

It didn't have me seething with anger like the lily pad stage did. I just thought it was an incredibly tedious and boring mission. I didn't even take that many attempts to beat it the first time, if my memory serves me right, but I also didn't enjoy the slow and delicate process I needed to follow just to complete it.

Alright, Sunshine veterans. What's worse?

The hidden pachiinko stage, or the hidden lily pad acid river stage?
Pachinko is worse. The toxic lily pad stage is less painful since you can still grab the remaining red coins without leaving the stage or dying albeit very slowly.
Wanna start seething in anger?
There was a problem fetching the tweet

Oh yeah, what about the one mission where Pianta Village is flooded with death lava graffiti?
Honestly, that one's easy.

People always forget that they can just damage boost to the little pool of water and then spin jump water just enough to jump over to the platform.

I never mastered that trick.

I personally found having to navigate underneath the village more frustrating than the slow and tedious watermelon mission (or maybe it's just because I sucked at the climbing controls and navigation when I was younger and died more times than I could count trying to do it, died several times more trying and ultimately failing to do the skip, while the watermelon mission only took me a few attempts out of a combination of patience, caution and possibly beginner's luck). But hey, that's just me.

I can beat the Goopy Inferno mission pretty easy now, but I have some bad memories from my many first attempts trying to beat it.
