I started playing Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 on the Switch and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on the Wii U this morning.
Despite facing backlash from Ninja Gaiden fans for being "too easy", I'm still finding Razor's Edge to be quite difficult, at least during the boss fights. (and some optional challenges, but I don't know whether to count those) A grab attack from the game's second boss chopped off a third of my maximum health. Still, I'm liking the story more than Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and the checkpoint system is much more generous than Sigma's was, so I think I'll enjoy it even if it's tougher than what I'm used to.
As for Bloodstained, it looks like I'll be doing roughly four playthroughs, if the file select screen is any indication. (when I started the game, I had to pick Episode 1 from a list of four options - the other three were unavailable) Still, I played through Curse of the Moon 1 three separate times (once on Normal, once on Nightmare, and once to unlock Ultimate), so I thought I might have to do something like that to begin with. Though unlike in the first game, recruiting party members is mandatory, so I wonder what the difference will be.
Also, I realize that story isn't exactly a priority for a spin-off based on the 8-bit era of games, but Zangetsu's attitude towards alchemists is completely different from every other game in the series, and I wonder why that is. (the ending clearly isn't canon to any of the endings of Curse of the Moon 1, seeing as Zangetsu is alive and isn't corrupted by evil, and it doesn't seem canon to Ritual of the Night either)
