♪MARINA'S CHAT☆ROOM♪
I dunno, personal biases aside I don't think anything from here on out will top Cloud unless we get Master Chief or something. For so long he was the character you joked about being in Smash and then out of nowhere it stopped being a joke and became reality.
True, but the thing is that with Sonic was that he had so much buildup for him. Both Nintendo and SEGA had a fierce rivalry with each other, and there were the whole Sonic in Melee rumors, and then suddenly Sonic camw to Nintendo and all of a sudden a new Smash came in and Snake, a 3rd party character was in, and then suddenly Mario and Sonic crossover in a sports game, with Brawl suddenly getting delayed.

Like, Cloud might have been unexpected and was truly the definition of anyone can get in, but man was the anticipation for Sonic was something else.

I'm glad Falcon is the way he is in smash, but I find it odd that Sakurai didn't include a lazer-gun special for Captain Falcon in the original Smash Bros. since it was the only combat ability he ever displayed outside of his car. He could have just copy/paste Fox's Laser and give it to Falcon too.
Since he's based off the generic Dragon King fighter, that probably means the specials were already made. One thing about his kit that I think was specifically done for Falcon, however, was his high speed to match F-Zero races.

Metacritic was a little more critical, giving it an 84%.

Personally, I don't expect much outside of the amazing visuals and smooth animation. Feels like every Pixar film since 2010 has had really sub-par plots, and I already get a sense that this will be the worst of the four movies.

I often forget he was even hype. I have zero connection to Final Fantasy as a series. At all.

It was like, "Oh. Final Fantasy guy. Cool I guess."

Honestly, my main concern regarding that death battle is that, when you look past memes, Falcon is mostly featless outside of some stuff from the comics, the anime (and the explosion was not from the punch, but from the reactor), and maybe the F-Zero games when you consider that the vehicles are going at supersonic speeds. Then again, I have a feeling they will definitely pull from Smash for stuff.

I think it will still be pretty fun. Probably a stomp for Johnny though.

excuse me what

everyone knows :mewtwomelee: brought the hype to the table
Fair enough tbh. Don't know what I was honestly thinking. Guess I thought Marth and Roy because bringing them to the West is what sparked Fire Emblem's popularity.
From what I remember, Mewtwo was considered to be the most exciting addition to Melee. That's around the time Pokemon really blew up and started becoming a monster of a franchise, and the first movie left quite an impression on folks.

Marth was cool, but you have to remember that casuals had no idea who he was. He might've sparked interest in the FE series overseas, but his popularity wasn't there at the very beginning. That came later.

You better be scared if you don’t get your but to the dinner table in the next five minutes!

That’s the last straw young man! You’re grounded!
Ever think about how weird some idioms are? Like, there's two right here. "Last straw"? What, did people use to be horses? Grounded? Was suplexing your children into the dirt as punishment just something the Romans did?
That's just the tip of the iceberg, but I just thought there's no point in beating around the bush anymore. Oh well, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

Are we really looking at the "which character could top this character?" thing again?

Because I don't think we should look at that

I imagine that grounded has to do with planes not being able to take off

So, I accidentally spoiled the ending of Toy Story 4 for myself while reading some reviews.

It's...not that good. Kinda wished they stopped after Toy Story 3.

I believe last straw is a shortening of "the straw that broke the camel's back"

I haven't really been following 4 - is it meant to be the last one (for real this time, we promise)?

Yeah how do you beat someone half to death anyway do you just know what half of their life is as your beating them? And my personal favorite your exactly right well if your right your just right exactly right is just right with an extra word slapped on

Did they pull off an Ralph Breaks the Internet?
Yes, but it's infinitely worse.

Woody leaves the gang to stay with Bo and travel with the carnival. Unlike Ralph Breaks the Internet, this is supposed to be a final goodbye.

Let's just say it'd be really weird and forced for them to make a fifth movie with the same cast.

Whelp way to ignore the message and meaning from previous films yet again...What happened for being there for your owner?

Regardless as I said if anyone still likes the movie that's fine. Everyone has a right to their opinion.

Toy Story 2: "Our owner [Andy] is where our home is."

Toy Story 4: "lol screw Bonnie I'm going with Bo Peep."

Seriously wouldn't Bonnie be upset that Woody is gone? Also what if Andy visits her and finds out she just lost Woody?

Weird and forced describes the entire concept of a Toy Story 4 though.

It's just really out of character for Woody. He's spent a lifetime bonding with Andy's toys, said goodbye to Bo Peep once before, and preached to everyone about how you need to be there for your kid, but now he's throwing all of that away so he can travel around without an owner? Feels like the writers were forcing an emotional ending.

Weird and forced describes the entire concept of a Toy Story 4 though.
So the ending is fitting after all.
