Why are you afraid?

There isn't anything in the dark that you need to be afraid of.

It's just Monika.
That was worded so well and I don’t want to touch it but I feel like my responsibility is to reply
Either way, congrats on scaring me even more

That’s not a name. He might be a distinct character, but he has the name of an enemy variant. You tell me that name and I expect to kill hundreds of them as I platform through dreamland. Like Parasol Waddle Dees. Give him a name. Call him like, Sir Bandee or something.
It's a derivative name but still is one. Like, Bowser's Japanese name is just "Koopa" but that doesn't prevent him from being recognized as his own, named character in there.

Plus, changing a character's name after people had years to get used to it is not a good decision.

I'm back. Anything of note happened the past week while I was gone?
Collective sanity of Smash fandom has gradually detoriated because of the desperate need for new information and conflicting hints coming from sources with dubious credibility, leaving us to discuss exhausted topics of conversation in a sorry state of frustration, impatience and borderline agressiveness towards any opinion that we might perceive as incorrect.

So, business as usual.

We might be getting a Nintendo Direct on Monday, according to rumours, though it seems like it's going to be shadow-dropped like the March mini-Direct if it even happens all. (Nintendo is... not good when it comes to communicating about this sort of thing)

Most companies in a nutshell this year. And governments.....and people and........

Going off topic but people also need to remember in way that the preparation and response to the pandemic will be nothing compared to the big one of climate change.

Ever since I stopped caring about Smash speculation I started feeling so much better.

Come to think of it, there's not a single Nintendo game left with a concrete release date, is there? Only some vague dates like Crown Tundra in fall, but besides that, their schedule feels very empty.

Is there even a Nintendo game left to begin with? I actually can't think of any in the near future. Prime 4 we know nothing about, Pikmin 4 is... whatever it is that happened to it. That's kinda it, isn't it? Really makes me wonder how their E3 presentation would've looked.

Currently rewatching Wreck It Ralph after many years.

The movie is pretty visually.

So trying to get us a bit detoured from the Smash craziness, I've been playing more Ghost of Tsushima. And after playing around with the Photo Mode, it's made me realise a few issues with the game.

This game is not meant to be for the PS4, it's meant to be for the PS4 Pro.

Like the animations just look off to me. I still like the game but I won't lie that it really, really have used a few more months in the oven. And the face texture above as well.

Nothing with an actual release date. There's Metroid Prime 4 and Breath of the Wild 2, but we don't even have release years for those. EDIT: forgot about New Pokemon Snap, but it's the same deal - we don't even know what year it's coming out.

There's also third party exclusives like Bayonetta 3, No More Heroes 3, and Bravely Default 2, but as far as I know those also don't have release dates yet. (No More Heroes 3 is supposed to be coming out some time in 2020, and we've seen snippets of gameplay from it, but all things considered, I doubt it will actually be out this year)

Well, I got to play quite a bit of offline Smash Bros and took the opportunity to use Terry and Ness, two characters I'd rather not touch online. Playing Ness felt really nostalgic as I used him a lot during the late Melee/early Brawl days, though I seem to have forgotten how to aim PK Thunder due to how long it's been. And as for Terry, I still love him and his inclusion, yet I also still wish the command inputs were handled differently for him, Ryu and Ken. But landing a BUSTAH WOLF will always feel satisfying.

I liked Wreck It Ralph. Didn't see the second one though, didn't look that good to me.
I still haven't seen It because I honestly don't feel interested.

I was hoping the sequel would keep the videogame theme, and the internet stuff doesn't really attract me as much.

I actually don't think i've even seen a Disney since Incredibles 2. Most of the new ones just don't interest me tbh.

Today’s the 19th anniversary of Final Fantasy X

and even when I played this game as a kid, I found this dialogue depressing as hell

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Ralph Breaks the Internet at times felt like an excuse for Disney to shill itself further. The princesses and Disney.com stuff while fun was pretty shameless.

Also you noticed how Disney had pretty mediocre twist villains for a while?
What’s with the recent sequels splitting up the protagonists?

There's this experiment I want to run someday regarding Halo Master Chief Collection on Xbox One.

One of the achievements is called "Back in the Day" and is earned by playing a 4 person Capture the Flag custom game on Blood Gulch. (Tri-Tip Optional)

Initially, the achievement required all 4 players to play on the same console, but with the release of Halo CEA on PC, I wonder if the Xbox version had the achievement requirements changed to only require 4 players regardless of system.

No idea how I can test it, but it shall be interesting.

Ah yes one of "my favourite games of all time that I forget about" game.

The Sending is one of the best moments I have ever experienced in any media and no-one can deny it. It is literally art.

I liked Wreck It Ralph. Didn't see the second one though, didn't look that good to me.
The sequel to that looked so tacked on and forced. The only reason I remember the film even exists is because of the girl meme:

What a waste.

Been at my place for a few hours now. Something I'm gonna start doing almost every day along with a nights staying over until I permanently move in by the end of August.

Will be heading back to my dad's in little under an hour.

I haven't watched either one of the Wreck It Ralph movies in full but I really enjoyed the Sonic cameos.

Disney/Pixar Trope Syndrome.

Same how they rely on the pre-climax argument and twist villains to do their films rather than do other ways of doing or continuing the story. The way I see this splitting up the protagonists is gonna be their newest trope. Next thing you know it it'll be "protagonists who were friends when they were younger but went their different ways or became rivals".
I love Wreck it Ralph

I hate Ralph Breaks the Internet with a passion
1st movie: "Going Turbo is wrong".
2nd movie: Suddenly ignores all that.

That's also not getting started how they turned Ralph into this clingy crybaby and Vanellope just suddenly fighting to get back what was her game six years ago suddenly gets bored and gives it all up...

I had a couple of dumb laughs watching Ralph 2 (I guess I find cheesy jokes funny if they're overplayed enough), but honestly I understand the criticism. Even if you ignore the lore contradictions between it and the first game, Ralph's character feels really exaggerated to an obnoxious degree in it. It's been a while since I've seen the first but I remember Ralph being a lot more likable in it.

Wait no you'll start it again-

I thought Ralph Breaks the Internet looked really interesting, but I didn't bother watching it when it came out. And the opinions I've seen about it only lowered the chances of me watching it.

I honestly forgot there even was a Wreck-It Ralph sequel, not that I was interested in that one anyway, as it felt like it missed the mark why people liked the original. The whole internet exploration theme just felt unfitting, at least to me.

Then again, I've really stopped caring about those yearly Disney movies, the only one I have any interest in is Incredibles 2.

As far as I'm concerned Ralph Breaks the Internet is bad fanfiction in the form of a movie. The same with TLoU2 only in the form of a video game.

Ralph Breaks The Internet is genuinely the only film where I got so bored that I wanted to leave the theatre, and during the finale too.

If this video was filmed a week or so ago, I could buy it.

Pamela Horton's been in the hospital since the 1st of July, meaning that the video had to have been filmed in June or earlier.

People on ResetEra have said they only get **** for the DLC characters a day/hours in advance, so why the hell would Gamestop have Geno info back in June, or even earlier?

To believe this, you have to follow a train of logic like so:

Direct planned for June >>> Press info sent out a day/few hours before >>> for some reason, Nintendo pulls the plug and delays it literally last second
This could definitely be possible. Maybe E3 would have just had a mini direct with the trailers they had but they canned it last minute. It’s still a stretch though, but that reaction is very interesting regardless.

The Last of Us 2, I sort of agree on. It was amazing thematically but it should have been a bit of a different plot.

Is it bad fanfiction? I wouldn't say so but did I expect far better from Naughty Dog? Definitely.
